Susie's Fitness Journal

hey girl where are ya?

I'm still around-- and back to it. I printed a list of all of the benefits of exercise and am making myself read it everyday for motivation!

Thats a really neat idea to do start it up for a week..:)
listen to your body u know better what works for u,and i myself will do the same ,like doing start it up for 6 days..i so need to get back on my routine.
best of luck

Hi~! So how's Slim6 doing for you? :) I've on it 4 times now. I love it! Plus I don't hv to do mroe lunges and squats, she covers those nicely! ^^b

Ok, I have heard of Slimin6, but what is the dvd like? What kind of moves are there? Is it aerobic? Cardio? Strength Training? Where can you get it?

LOL i seriously think Slim shd get some cut from Beachbody for popularizing Slim6 :p

You can get it at the official website:

I got mine from eBay coz (i'm cheap :p ) I already got the resistance band and I don't want/need the other extras that comes in the package ;)

My take on it is a bit of aerobic, and a lot of natural weight training (at least in the beginning). Like I mentioned, I don't do extra lunges/squats anymore coz she covers it well in the set. The routine covers total body workout. I think it is pretty simple to follow. But then again I am only on the first part Start it Up! which is 25min. The next session Ramp it Up! is 45 min I believe.
Slim shd be able to give you more lowdown on it :D

They have 30 days money back on the official website, I guess if you are curious you can give it a try :)

I'm baaaack

Hope you all didn't think I forgot about you...

I got pretty much off track for a while, I spent a month back in the USA visiting family etc and now I'm back in Europe again. Guess what? I gained from between 6 to 9 pounds when I was in the USA! (I keep getting different numbers on different scales). Scary. But I WAS indulging in all kinds of American comfort foods that I can't get here...including delicious but unhealthy breakfasts at diners, and Egg McMuffins!!! Yum! And the occasional Sausage McMuffin. And candy. And there was a birthday party where I ate lots of cake. And my favorite brand of icecream (Turkey Hill). And sugary cereal. And greasy Chinese buffets. And the list goes on and on...

So anyway, now I'm getting back on track and want to lose that weight pronto, so...I'm back to the Slim in 6 workouts, and I have another DVD for extra ab exercises for variety instead of Debbie all of the time. I figure Slim in 6 can get my fitness routine recharged and then I can get into other strength training etc after that. I started the second workout, Ramp It Up, today, and I did the extra ab routine.

I'm also watching what I eat and keeping track on FitDay...my current goal is to skip all of the junk food this week and then reward myself on Saturday with something gooooood.

Anyway, hi again to everyone and see you on the boards!

Today I weighed myself first thing in the morning and I'm at 127.8.

That's a little better than recent weigh-ins but still it's 6 or so pounds above what I was when I left to go to the US. And it's not just the number on the scale, my thighs look different and squishier and so does my stomach. At least it's not bikini season, heh, but I have a birthday coming up (gasp) and I'd like to be fitter than this for it.

Yesterday I took in about 1200 calories, and that included some candy corn I brought back from the US-- but I rationed my serving of that-- I ate a total of 26 pieces over the day which is what they count as 1 serving on the back of the bag-- after entering everything in FitDay it was interesting to see that those 26 pieces of candy corn have the same amount of calories as a huge bowl of oatmeal. And in the past I was eating more than 26 pieces a day, so...

I want to take in 1200 calories a day for the rest of the week and then on Saturday or Sunday I'm going to have a cheat day and eat a cheeseburger! Yummy! (it might even have bacon on it, shhh!).

Still at it...I've had a bad cold and didn't do the workouts 6 days a week as you're supposed to...but today I at least took a half hour walk and did the ten-minute ab routine. My diet has been okay except for some Lucky Charms cereal my mother shipped to me...the good news is it's almost gone and they don't sell any kind of marshmallow cereal here so that'll be it for me. All the candy corn is gone too, so now I can get back to eating a lot less sugar.

The trees are blooming with early spring flowers...time to get super fit for spring and summer!

I'm going back to traditional upper/lower split workouts-- today I did my lower routine and felt wiped out after only one set without weights...talk about out of shape once again! I used to be able to do all three sets WITH weights and no rests between sets.

Here's to getting fit in anticipation of wearing less clothes! :)

Oh, and I'm down to 125.6 pounds (57 kilos)-- looks like the weight I gained in the USA is coming off without too much trouble, knock on wood. I WAS at about 121-122, let's see if I get back down there.

Thanks for the welcome back Sadie, you're such a sweetheart.

Today I did one set of the lower body exercises and a shortened version of abs-- I've gotten into such a lazy mindset, I need to really rev up my motivation. :(

Yup it's consistency that will help you get to that goal - just keep reminding yourself that warmer weather and less covering up is on the way.

I'm down to 123.5-- dang that was fast!

Wanna get the muscles going though...same ol', same ol'. :)

Yesterday I did Burn It Up for cardio, did theSlim&6 pack, in addition to a squat/lunge routine.

Today I did some Billy Blanks cardio-- just half of the DVD though, I figure 20 minutes is better than nothing, and I'm just getting started again, so...there's time to build up to the whole thing!

I may do Slim in 6 pack now...why not? I need to do some weighted upper body, too.

I did all 3 sets of my lower body routine, with weights on the last 2 sets (pretty soon I'll do weights on all of them). I also did upper body with weights. Tomorrow I'll do Taebo cardio and Slim&6pack.

Hm, well, yes, I suppose I could and I probably should...:D

I guess I have that mindset that I hate to waste food, but...gotta do what I gotta do for my health!

I guess I'll keep a piece for my cheat day and toss the rest?

Stingo where in PA are you from if you don't mind my asking? I'm orginally from NEPA. If you don't want to give out specifics on the board that's fine, too.

------------------------------

I took some new "before" pictures for motivation-- I want to stick to my current workout/food plan for one month and then evaluate my progress then. I've been having a problem lately with constantly changing my plan of attack and I think I really just need to focus on one approach and stick with it for a while.
