Buy a food scale. That's pretty accurate.

I'm going to keep my eye out for one.

I took some pictures today to compare with my pics from a month ago...I can't say the visual difference in the photos is much different. However I defintely FEEL tighter and there has been some shrinkage in my hips. For instance my hipbones feel more prominent than they did before, so I know that SOMETHING is happening. Also I have more definition in my lower legs, and my arms have visible muscle curves.

The other day my husband asked me if my jeans had shrunk-- they haven't-- my glutes have grown (with muscle) and fill the jeans out more (which in my opinion is a good thing!). Also my quads have grown a bit too. All of this is probably subtle "only I (and/or my husband) would notice" kind of thing, but seeing changes helps to keep up the motivation for sure. I hope I don't sound like I'm bragging, it just helps to keep me motivated to note positive changes.

Still no Taebo video, I'm giving it to the end of the week until I ask for it to be shipped again or for a refund. :/

Let's see, what else? Oh yeah I have to start exercising first thing after I get up because otherwise I put it off and put it off. Sometimes I'm exercising after midnight.
wow u and i have so many similarities:p
i put it off untill my son is asleep and i end up working out after midnight too,and some times i am so tired i just skip it:mad:
hopefully my son will start going to school in 5 days then i will have whole 3 hours to spoil myself:)
well doing exercise,haha

bet the change is noticiable, update your pics in Before/after section,if u want, and we will give an honest opinion:)
keep up the good work
and darn amazon, get your money back
btw,did u track the shipping?

Still no video, one week past the expected delivery date. Amazon won't let me track this package, because it's sent through the regular postal service.

I doubt it's Amazon's fault, the postal service to my country is very bad. There is pretty much a 50/50 chance of anything making it here from the USA.

But who knows, it could be something on Amazon's side. They usually have pretty good customer service so hopefully they'll help me out.

--------------------------------------------

I am trying to get up the courage to go to a local gym and ask about their spin class. I don't speak the local language well so it is extra intimidating for me. I don't know why I find it so scary to go to new gyms! It's lame, I know.

So I went to the gym that advertises spin classes.

They don't have them! He said they are going to buy the bikes to do it but he doesn't know when. I told the guy who was talking to me that I was interested in weights and he kind of smirked and said he could show me a few exercises. Maybe I was being overly sensitive but it felt condescending. Granted this country is pretty sexist, the idea of PC doesn't even exist here.

I went to a woman's gym to inquire...it was tiny. And was mostly cardio (only a few machines) and dumbbells, no barbells...and they were very proud of their hip adductor machine. But I guess I may join to get more intense cardio and just continue to lift weights with my dumbbells at home. However it was kind of on the expensive side. We'll see. :(

Maybe it's just better to stay at home and do them there.

I agree - heck you can get yourself a jump rope and do that and it'd be much, much cheaper than paying for half of a gym. The other didn't sound too promising either - advertising a class they didn't even have equipment much less (I'm guessing) a certified, qualified instructor to teach it. Chin up though and keep looking.

Stingo-
I've thought about a jump rope but I don't think my downstairs neighbors would appreciate me skipping rope for 1/2 hour, especially since we have wood floors (no carpets). I'll come up with something...

Still pretty much on track-- I need to buy some heavier dumbbells, hope to do that on Monday. And I really have to get tough with myself to do regular ab routines. I hate ab exercises, but I know it's important to have a strong middle. Sigh. :)

I put up a new pic in the before and after forum.
My Before and After Thread

i live on first floor too,and when i am running on my traedmill the poor landlord who live down stairs complain,
well they have to i run after midnight:|

Ha, that's funny Sadie!

You're right about the tan, I know there must be a reason that EVERYONE also has a dark tan in their "after" pictures in commercials etc, it makes you look more lean!

Amazon is shipping me a replacement Billy Blanks DVD, this one is expected to arrive by September 15th. Sigh. I ordered the first one August 1st, so if this one DOES arrive, I'll have waited a month and a half for this DVD. tells self: *Patience is a virtue*

I'm feeling discouraged about finding a decent gym here. :-/
I've been dreaming of the big fitness centers in the USA! Wahhhh! I'm feeling homesick.

Hi She,
I don't know...I'm here of my own free will (not with the military or anything). My husband was born here though he lived in the US for a long time and we decided to try out living back here for a while (it's been 2 years now). I was up for the adventure but now I think I'm really getting burned out. I'm starting to try to plan our return to the US, but it's a bit complicated (what overseas move isn't?). So I don't know when I'll go back for good!
I hope to at least visit by December of this year.

Can I just say I have a new appreciation for the USA after living abroad!

aww, dont feel homesick, easier said tha done...
hopefuly the Dvds will arive this time...
i was dying to buy slim in 6 dvds, and now they are just sittig in the corner,
but i bet u will do better:)

I live in Eastern Europe, She.

We'll see, I don't know if I'll be good with a cardio video, I'm not very well coordinated with those things usually, but I'm hoping this one might be different. It got mixed reviews on Amazon, so we'll see how it works for me.

Why don't you use the Slim in 6, Sadie? Are they boring, too hard, too easy, or? I'm just curious since I've heard about them so much but have no idea what they're like.

Turbojam looks interesting to me because they say you get great abs without doing any floor exercises.

I've seen the Turbojam, but really haven't heard anything about it, either good or bad. Let us know if you decide to try it.

This is an interesting diary!
