Surya's Weight Loss :)

Hi Surya, I just read your comment and came to visit your journal.
You remember me in many ways. It seems we have many things in common and I'm glad I can share my journal with you somehow. :D
Oh, and is it you in the avatar?!
If it is, gosh, you are beautiful! <3

Your diet sounds so interesting. Where are you from? I feel like if I'm not bored with my food and starving, then I won't lose weight. Terrible mindset, I know. And I agree with everyone...your not eating enough. Eat lots early in the day and then very little in the evening...Stick by this rule, "no white at night"...stay away from the carbs at night because when your sleeping, your not using them for energy and they will just turn into fat. Eat only some protein and a veggie and save the carbs for the morning/afternoon. Good luck and looking forward to hearing from you again~

Hi Surya!

I just read over the journal, things look pretty good! Ive been trying some of that interval training, like you have been. Its is crazy how tiring that is! But I can tell from the way I feel afterwards it was a really good workout, so I'm gonna stick to it! I also see that we eat pretty differently. Perhaps its due to cultural differences, but it makes for an interesting perspective! Keep going with the workouts, itll be worth it in the end!

Dont be a stranger :seeya:

woohoo, the girl is back! sounds like your doing really great! will keep checking in on you...and thanks for stopping by my diary. take care hun xoxo

3mins jog, 1.5mins walk, 5mins jog, 2.5mins walk, 3mins jog, 1.5mins walk, 5mins jog
500 skipping

Pretty cool, huh? Today was incredible... When I finished my first 5min jog, I was elated, of course :) But by the end of the last 5min jog, my knees were crying out to me to STOP! But I knew I'll regret stopping, so on I went. AMAAAAZING feeling. Really! The after run feeling has to be THE best!!
IF anyone's reading this... I highly reccommend running. Don't worry about being too unfit or too fat or whatever. THAT is the reason I took so long to start, I kept procrastination. But, finally, I'm so glad I made myself do it. Jogging five mins straight is a big deal for someone like me!!

Great job, Surya! Tell me about this skipping...lol is it skipping rope, or actual skipping, either sounds like fun to me.:)

hey!! thanks a ton... its skipping rope. tiring but fun. i used to think i have fewer sweat glands than most people :p but lately ive seen that after my run and skipping session i sweat BUCKETS!! i stink lol but it feels great!!

I know exactly what you mean. I came home from taekwondo last night looking like I got caught in the rain, but no, I was just a yucky stink monster...lol Somehow, I was kind of proud of that fact:biggrinjester:

yea miriamm i totally agree with you, and i also feel if i'm not starving i'm not losing weight, but i also know it doesn't work that way and i'm just harming myself. so right now i'm focusing only on my exercise and eating as usual. i'll visit a dietician and start on a diet in some time hopefully! :)
and I'm from India, by the way :)

OmiGOD!! Today was horrendous... Every 3minute jog took most of what I had, but they were quite ok once i got done with them. The last one seemed to go on and on and on and on and... ok you get the point.
What I don't get is how on EARTH I'm going to be able to run 30 WHOLE minutes in 4 weeks? I mean, I do have full faith in the programs, but 3-5mins is a lot. And 30mins is like 10 times of that!! Phew!!
I'm just praying it'll keep going great, I like pushing myself, I have something to look forward to always. Yayy!!
I'm going to try to increase my skips to 1000 soon. But I think that'll take some time. 500 used to be easy earlier, but since I do it after the runs, it's getting harder as the runs are getting longer. Phew!

I've seen the first round of running is the WORST!! The second and third were ok, and the last one was torture, but bearable. I think it's more boredom , than anything else. I run in my garden, it takes me 1.5mins to run around its boundaries, so I keep changing routes, cutting through sometimes, and running the whole edge sometimes.
By the way, the days I'm doing the program(like today), I use Robert Ullrey's podcasts. They're helpful. They help me maintain my speed(I think my speed has actually improved since I started using his podcasts), and I don't have to time myself with a stopwatch as he mentions when it's time to change pace. You can take a look at them .

I'm not going to lie... ow ow ow ow OWWW!!! But again... once it was done it felt easy. I used a pedometer today... and I saw I just walked 1.3 miles?!?! That was weird... I had thought it would be atleast 2 miles!! I mean... if it's taking me 32mins of walking/jogging to do 1.3 miles... how on EARTH am I going to manage 3.1miles in 30 mins in JUST 4 weeks more???
I hope it gets better... cause I don't think I can jog fast enough to cover up the distance gap. Hmmm...

Hang in there, the C25K does work and despite some tough weeks it will be totally worth it :)

Hello Surya, how are ya doin?

I'll have to catch up on some of your pages of your journal to know what's what. But I thought I'd just pop in and wave Hello, :waving:

What is the C25K, couch to 25 K? Wha???

Take Care
