ok so im taking 25g protein shake after workout, which is recommmended by a lot of people...


but should i drink some right before sleeping? reason why i think this is because it can help muscle growth while i sleep, but...... will that store up as fat too cuz im drinking right before i sleep?
 
What are you drinking the shake with? You need to add a fast acting carb to it to replenish muscle glycogen.

Some may say that a whole food, protein.fat consumption is a good before bed meal however I utilize whey protein and flax oil. The whole purpose of this "before bed" meal, is to ensure that your body does not go into a catabolic state during the night.

As long as it fits into your macro requirements is should not store as fat.

you should have a meal or a shake before bed. its a wise choice ;)
 
I would not take that shake before bed but i would try to get 50grams of carbs in your body post workout. Go to the store and get a bag of corn sugar, 1TBSP is about 10grams.

2scoops of your whey protein and 2TBSP of corn sugar AKA dextrose will give you a decent recovery drink.

Add 3TBSP of corn sugar if you like but i just read xylitol is some kind of sweetener/carb but i'm not famailar with it.
