SunnyDee's Diary

My apartment is way too hot today. It's not terribly hot outside right now. It was earlier. The weather is currently beautiful, actually. I would say it's a perfect day, probably about 27 or so. But it's sooo warm in here! I've got almost every window open, plus my fan blowing on me right now. I'm having a friend over for wine later and wine always makes my face hot, so now I'm worried. I'm trying to get the place cool before he comes over. Damn poorly insulated house!

I know I should have probably waited a week or so before weighing myself again, but I couldn't help it. I'm 152 this morning, which makes me feel a lot better than 153 (for some reason). My goal is to be back to 150 by the end of the month.

Last night was alright. I was good and only had 2 glasses of chardonnay.

I've been craving salty foods lately, so I bought a pack of salted sunflower seeds last week. I usually eat about 10 or 12 and they definitely satisfy the salt craving, with barely any calories or fat! Plus, they're still in the shell so I shell them with my teeth, which makes lots of time pass for the craving to go away!

I'm off to the gym in a few. Just waiting for my tummy to settle from the peanut butter toast I recently ate. Another beautiful, sunny day today. It puts me in a great mood. :)

I've been so stressed out during the weekdays, that I've been partying more than usual on the weekends. That tends to be a bad thing... In fact, I was 153 when I weighed myself this morning. :( Up 3 lbs since the first of the month. That bums me out in a big way. So I certainly won't be down to 147 by the end of the month. I'm not so concerned about time restraints now though. I wanted to lose at least 3 lbs per month when my goal was 150. I managed to succeed with that, at least. As long as I'm 145 by the end of the year, I'll be ok. But it would be nice to be 145 right now!

Oh Dee, I feel you, I don't even want to weigh myself right now after BASTILLE DAY, ugh! But don't worry--those 3 lbs aren't real, if you eat lightly today you'll probably be down 1-3 lbs by tomorrow! No prob, and yes I wish I was being moderate right now but with this kankle and the calling of the Brewery, I can practically feel the fat accumulate. Of gawd that sounds bad! lol!

Hey Sunnydee,

I think you can totally get down to 150 by the end of the month! Just keep having those great workouts :) Wine is a fav of mine too, btw. I really love red wine, esp. merlot...

Thanks Val & Sam. :) I know it's silly that I'm upset over 2 or 3 lbs, but I guess finally seeing 150 got me really excited and then it felt like it was being taken away from me again. But I can definitely get back to 150 by the end of the month. I can't wait to see 149! I haven't seen that number since my last year of high school or first year of university (except when I was sick in Ontario and went down to 148. That doesn't count!).
Isn't it weird how you grow comfortable with certain numbers? For example, when I was in high school, I would have cried if I got on the scale and saw 150! And a few months ago, I would have been ecstatic to see 150! Now it's just kind of what I'm used to and I freak out if I go over. lol How silly.

Oh Sam... merlot... you just said the magic word. Now I want some! You always do that to me, with your delicious menus and your talking about delicious foods/drinks. lol

Oy... tiring day at work. We have a big group of campers this week. A good group though! Very well behaved and mannerly.

Speaking of camp, I've convinced my co-workers to go camping the weekend of the 27-29. I can't say it took a lot of convincing. They're all animals. Can't wait! Gonna be a fun time, indeed. I've warned them in advance that the insane partying we will surely do will lead to me trying to spoon with EVERYBODY. It's become the theme of the trip. Every email/note we've written each other about our trip ends up containing "Dee's spooning with EVERYbody!!!" There are only 2 guys that work with me (one of them being one of my best friends) so they're pretty excited about camping with the ladies. lol Anyway, I'll have to be extra disciplined throughout that week so I won't feel so guilty about splurging during the camping trip...

Oh, there will be much fun. Believe me!

So, I'm cheating again... I'm supposed to be studying physics. I had a lot of stuff to do this afternoon, which caused me to put my studying off until late. Now it's almost 11:20 and I don't have all the material covered that I intended to cover tonight. But my brain shuts off after 10:00, I swear! I just can't make it function anymore. Especially when I'm not allowed to use a calculator. Throw me a damn bone here!

Throw me a damn bone here!

Take n vectors in R^n. Let M be the nxn matrix formed above by using them for the columns (it has to be nxn for this to make sense). If the vectors are dependent, there is a relation amongst them. You can use the relation to find a vector v=/=0 so that Mv=0, which is if and only if det(M)=0.

Bone thrown. Hope this helps :D

I just ate at a bbq--pretty healthy--Steak and raspberries with cool whip for desert. Two big glass of pinot though--quite delicious. Your camping trip sounds like great fun. Enjoy yourself :)

Thanks Randy! :p Damn physics... I can't wait to finish this test and go back to pretending that physics doesn't exist.

BBQ sounds yummy, Cannon. Mmm... raspberries! I recently discovered that the propane hose on my bbq (well, really my boyfriend's bbq which I'm using while he's away) is melted in one spot and is leaking! :( Dangerous! So now I can't use it until I can get a new hose, which Matt doesn't want me to do until he gets back.

not being able to use a calculator takes me back :)

No exam in college were we allowed calculators... and I was a math major... now I can't even add a simple column of numbers without one :D

Physics will end soon :)

GAH! Majoring in Math without a calculator??? How is that possible? That's like majoring in Nursing without a stethoscope and sphygmomanometer! Dear lord...

So tired...
I worked overnight last night and then went directly to the gym after work. Had a fabulous workout too! Instead of running for 25 mins at a moderate pace like I usually do, I decided to work on my speed a little. So I ran for 12 mins at a moderate pace, then bumped up my speed so I was running flat-out for 2 mins. Then I'd power walk for 1-2 mins and run like that for another 2-3. It was awesome. I can't remember the last time I sweated that much. lol

I'm not sure if the term "flat-out" is used anywhere else. It's a Newfie thing, I believe. I basically means that you're doing something as hard or as fast as you can. Like, if you worked a really busy shift where you hardly got a break, you would say "I was flat-out all day!"
