SunnyDee's Diary

Sorry to hear your plans were messed up. That sucks!

On a happy note, you'll be arriving to beautiful weather. Have a good trip.

We'll I hope things are better for you. I am also territorial(spelling?) and my in-laws are coming for a week. I have been expecting them , but I am thinking they are screwing up my life for a week! I know they don't mean it that way, I am just a witch!!

That sucks Sunny. I know how much you have to do to get ready to leave. A week is kind of pushing it, but hopefully a lot of the responsibility falls to the roommate. Good luck.

Hey Sunny, just dropping in to say hello. I'm trying to get back into the swing of posting regularly in people's diaries. Hope you're having a good weekend.

Hope you're trip to Ontario was a good one. The weather was awesome this weekend. Thanks for bringing the sunshine!

Hope the placement goes well for you!

Hey everybody! Sorry I've been away for so long. It's been crazy. Well, I'm in Ontario, arrived safe and sound at 8:30 Saturday morning! And I'm having a blast so far. I'm so glad to be here with my sis and bro-in-law. I miss my boy a lot though. :( We're hoping he'll be able to make it here for a visit sometime around my birthday (June 5) I'm not getting my hopes up too much though because it'll only make me even more sad if he can't make it.
My sister threw a party for me Saturday night, so there was a lot of bad food and I completely pigged out. I also pigged out a little the night before I left. We had a few people over and had wings and nachos. However, I forgot weigh in this morning, so I don't know how much damage was done. I don't expect it to be pretty... I'll weigh tomorrow and see how it goes. My sis and I got up early and went to the gym this morning. Sadly, I have an awful cold so my workout wasn't that great. I couldn't get into a steady run n the treadmill because my nose would NOT stop running. So I jogged for a few mins at a time. My longest jog was 15 mins, which was better than I expected to do in my stuffy, congested condition. I tried to compensate for the poor cardio by doing a lot more weight training than I usually do. That was cool, it felt really good.
One great thing about being here is that my sister has a mini home gym in the basement. Her treadmill is one of those stupid manual ones though, so I can't run on it. It's really annoying. She has lots of weight equipment though, and more workout videos than I can count! So, I guess I'll have fun mixing up a variety of workouts while I'm here. She's very active and fit, so she's perfect motivation. She has a weak spot for junk food though, so we've decided we're going to challenge each other for the next 8 weeks. Since she's more disciplined with exercise and I'm more disciplined with food, we should make a great team. We're going to start running outside this evening. The weather has been so beautiful since I've gotten here. A nice refreshing change from the drizzle and fog we were having in St. John's for the past week.
Anyway, I start my placement Wednesday evening. I'm a little nervous because I've never done a placement outside of the hospital system in St. John's. Every system seems to do things differently. But I'm sure I'll do fine. Everyone send good vibes my way!

I'm such a Gemini. :) I strongly relate to my sign. And I'm very proud of being a Gemini. We're a wonderful sign. My favorite tea mug has a Gemini sign on one side and the other side says "I am witty, a talker, and such an intellectual." lol

My boyfriend is ALSO super Geminian! He busts out freestyle love poems for me! I love it! Also, he's a briolliant genius and an amazing lover--always mixing it up

Sorry you are feeling sick. I hate getting silly colds. SOmetimes they are worse than anything. Good luck on that placement exam, I'm sure you'll do great.

Welcome to Ontario!

Sounds like you and your sister are going to do very well together! That's great motivation for both of you.

Hope you feel better soon!

Yeah, me and Sis make a great team. :)

I weighed myself this morning and it wasn't nearly as bad as I had expected! No loss, sadly. :( Only went down by 0.1 lb! Haha But no gain! I really thought I had gained at least 2 lbs, to be honest. So that's a good thing. I've been eating pretty well the past few days. I think I do that thing in my head where if I have a bad day or two, I feel like the whole week was bad. In reality, only Friday & Saturday night was bad. I've been doing well other than that.
We didn't end up going for a run last night because we both have colds and it was kind of damp outside. So we went for a walk instead. I'm glad for that because I'm pretty sure I would feel like crap today if I had ran last night. I don't think there will be any running tonight either. We're gonna try to hold out until we've gotten rid of the chest congestion, at least. But we'll probably get out for another nice walk. The weather is great for it. Nice and mild. :)

Thanks Valerie. :) I do feel much better today! I'm still a little stuffed up, but I'm not feeling any congestion in my chest or anything. My body feels a little sore and wornout though. I think I'm going to go for a massage over the weekend or early next week. I really need it.
Sis and I did go for a run last night. We were both feeling much better in the evening, so we decided to go for it. We're using a running program from a book she bought at The Running Room, so we're running at short intervals for the first few weeks. When we were reading over the program, I was thinking "This sounds way too easy. This isn't going to be a good workout at all!" And for the first few sets, it is really easy. But after you're out there for 12 mins or so, it starts to get a little challenging. I was impressed. Outdoor running is so different than indoors anyway. I think I'm going to like it. :)
