SunnyDee's Diary

Good luck with your juggling. I'm only using 2 right now - it might be considered cheating, but I'm giving it a try.

You MUST be arriving in Ontario soon. The weather for this weekend is going to be fantastic!

I'll be in Ontario on Saturday morning! It's drawing very very close. I'm excited and sad at the same time. I'm not sure if I mentioned this before, but Matt will be going to Alberta until the first week of Sept for his workterm... so wehen I leave on Saturday, I won't see him anymore til then. That's gonna be BRUTAL! It makes me sad. But I'm sure we'll be fine.

I'm having a shitty time trying to register for the MCAT. Registration opened yesterday and there's something wrong with the system so that people keep getting "No Seats Available when they try to sign up, even though there are seats! It's driving me insane. The problem was supposed to be fixed within 3 hours and it's now been about 26 hours. It's pissing me off bigtime.

I'm in! Finally got registered! I wanted Sept 7 or 8, but I finally got an opening on August 16, so I couldn't pass it up. So I will be writing the MCAT on Aug 16 at 8:00 am. Wish me luck. :D

Thank ya. :) I'm nervous already. Now that I've booked the test date, it's really sinking in that I'm going for this. I'm actually trying to get into med school. That's some freaky shit. I think back to high school when all of this was such a far-off dream. Scary!

Foods

Breakfast
Banana
3 pineapple slices
4 strawberries
Skim milk

Lunch
Cheese sandwich

Supper
Sweet & sour chicken
Vegetable fried rice w/ cherry sauce (Went a little overboard on the rice. I'm really bad at estimating how much rice to cook! Had to throw away quite a bit)

Snacks
1. Small homemade blueberry muffin

Oh wow, even though scary, this is so awesome!!! I wish you the best with the test and med school and everything that goes along with it.

Thanks a lot, doll.

I'm officially pissed off. I abso-fucking-lutely hate when people decide to show up unannounced. I don't mean when people just drop by to see what's up. I'm talking about when people decide they're going to actually come stay at your house without warning. My roommate was talking to her cousin today and he spilled the beans that her mother is planning to come surprise us tomorrow and stay for the week! What the hell??? I'm leaving on Saturday, which means I have a shit-load of stuff to do and I want to spend lots of time with my roommate (who is also my best friend) before I leave, but now her mom is going to be here so we won't be able to do anything. PLUS, Matt is moving out of his apartment and is planning to stay here tomorrow night and Friday night until he leaves to go to his hometown for a few days, so my roomie was going to stay at her boyfriend's house those nights so we could be alone, but now we have a visitor on top of us so she'll be staying here! Why? I really love her Mom, she's like my second mother. I even send her mother's day cards. So normally I would be thrilled. But I loathe inconvenient surprises. I've warned my parents a million times not to ever do that to me and they know that if they did, I'd send them right back home. I'm not sure if I could possibly be more pissed off. A Mike's Hard Lemonade did seem to cool the anger just a tad, but not nearly enough. I can't even tell you how many vulgar things I typed and then deleted throughout the course of writing this post.

Maybe you guys should go out tomorrow night and come home at like 2am or something. =)

I agree with you, I had a girls weekend in AC screwed up due to a mother who decided to surprise her daughter like that. :( The daughter wouldn't go.

Oh, shit. That must have really sucked. Sorry to hear it. It's just so inconsiderate to drop in on people like that. It's complete disregard for the fact that other people have lives and obligations that just may not be able to accomodate your unexpected visit.

OH Geesh - those kind of unexpected visits make it clear those moms don't realize their GROWN kids have lives of their own.

I would expect my kid to tell me to drop dead mom if I ever pulled a stunt like that!

I'm with Randy - cyber visits ar emuch better!

man that sucks! you do your good deed of saving me from the depths of page 4 (thank you! :)), and this is how karma thanks you?! boo on karma.

i'm so sorry this happened, and i totally understand your frustrations. i would be pissed off too!

and this is WAY off subject, but i just realized that i am a jackass (and a bad friend!) and never said good luck on the MCAT! i know... not the time, but i didn't want to forget again! sorry!

back to unwanted surprises... not cool. just not cool.

 I could have wrote that post!! My poor husband has had to listen to that rant for 12 myrs now. I totally agree with you, it may not seem like it to someone else, but I HAVE A LIFE!!!! Some people just don't get it. I like to have warning!!

I agree. I don't go visit my parents for a week unannouced, although my mother repeatedly says, that I'm always welcome to visit and stay whenever I like. I always call them to check that it's ok with them. And I certainly expect the same in return.

Maybe you guys should go out tomorrow night and come home at like 2am or something. =)

I second that. Could happen in real life. Go out both of you before the mother arrives. What would she do, when you're not there? Wait? Call? Go home?

I'm glad I'm not the only one. Thanks for having my back on this! It really would be nice to have an "off" button. I'm just going to enjoy today and tomorrow and then I'm flying far away on Saturday and won't have to worry about it. I'm leaving for the gym around 2:30, so I won't be here when she gets here. Then I'm probably just going to go right over to Matt's and stay there for the night. So it'll be like there's not even a visitor here. Matt re-scheduled his movers for Friday, so he doesn't need to stay here tonight anymore. But it's still a major pain in the ass that he had to do that.
I'm very territorial. I even find it annoying having expected visitors for more than few days. When my mom was here for a week, I was good and ready to see her go home. I love her pieces, but like I said, I'm territorial. I don't like sharing my space for an extended amount of time. Therefore, unexpected visitors are completely out of the question.
Alas... whatever.
I'm going to have a good day anyway. :) I wish the same for all of you. Off now to do some packing and hit the gym. Sorry to those whose diaries I didn't get to. I just went in order until I got to mine. lol

SO sorry about all this! :(

I hope everything turns out OK. My Bf and I have great parents who ask advance permission--it's really nice. Try to have a good day and weekend anyway!!!:)

Food

I made brunch for Matt and I this morning. It was very nice. I hate thinking about the fact that we have to wait 4 whole months before we can do this stuff again. :( So I won't think about it!
Brunch
Scrambled egg
Slice of whole wheat toast w/ margarine & apple-strawberry jam
Fieldberry yogurt
Grapes
1/2 orange
Homemade blueberry muffin
Piece of light cheddar

Supper
Spaghetti w/ tomato & herb sauce
Granola bar

Snacks
1. Oh Henry Easter egg. I had a brutal sweet craving and gave in to the egg. The craving still didn't go away, so I sucked on a hard strawberry candy for a while and that seemed to do the trick.
