SunnyDee's Diary

mmmm birthday cake :)
I knowwww... so good. The devil invented birthday cake.

i know exactley what you mean- i think that should be a new law
I vote for holidays for folks studying and trying to lose weight too :)
Let's start a petition, ladies! :p

Don't get too bogged down by the school work. If you really have to, take a break for one day and not think about any type of work. This feeling will pass and before you know it, you'll be done with the whole university thing and breathe a huge sigh of relief. Take it one day at a time and don't forget to breathe.
I keep trying to remind myself that it'll be over soon enough. I'm not feeling so stressed today. My clinical instructor decided we'd only spend a few hours on the unit today, so I got home at 12:00 instead of 3:00. :) Not that I generally mind being there til 3, but I really think I needed the break today.

I agree 100%. My hubby and I had a pretty good argument about school/health last semester. I didn't take the time to exercise because I was so stressed out from school work. Almost weekly papers and 11 novels for 1 freakin class. This semester, I'm goin about it all differently. My health is TOP priority! If I get all my reading done, so be it, however if I don't get all the reading done, oh freakin well. I'll get to it the next day. I do make sure ALL of my assignments are in on time though.

Thank you so much for all your support! You are great!
That happened to me too! But now I've taken on the attitude that physical health is a major priority and I don't care if I have to postpone some school work to get to the gym. In fact, for my midterms, I recorded my notes on my mp3 player and took them to the gym with me. lol Geeky, for sure. But I killed two birds with one stone!
Thanks for your support too. It's wonderful.

Hi Sweettea. Welcome to the Forum! You came to the right place if you're looking for support and motivation. I suggest you start your own diary so everybody can check up on you and stay in touch. Best of luck with your weight loss!

I did some "assessment" by trying on some of the clothes that I don't wear. I tried on a pair of jeans that I used to wear before my weight loss and discovered that I can pull them up and down without undoing the button or zipper. Haha. They were never a tight fit to begin with - kinda relaxed. But now they're just huge. I tried on two pairs of capri pants that were a little too snug last summer and they now fit perfectly. I also tried on a pair of dress pants that I couldn't even come close to buttoning/zipping up and now I can do them up, but they're still too tight in the butt. I could probably get away with wearing them, but it might look pretty skanky. Lastly, I found two suit jackets that I bought when I went to Parliament in high school. I haven't been able to fit into them since first year university... and now they fit. The black one is perfect and the beige one fits, but is not quite right across the shoulders.

I also did the measuring tape body fat assessment yesterday. It's the one where you measure a million different points on your body... your wrist, arm, ankle, calf, thigh, etc. According to that, my body fat percentage is 23.2%. But I don't believe it because recommended for a woman is 22%. I think I'm more than 1.2 percentage points away from having the appropriate amount of fat. I wish I could go get a real underwater fat assessment.

All right!!! Too bad losing weight can get expensive--buying new clothes is fun but it sucks also! Hey--about those calculations...do you have a link? I tried this one website and it said I was both 19% BF when I gave me height weight and waist size, and then 30% with more details. I was happy with neither. Thanks!!

LOL Well, I've seen the pics... you're definitely not 30%! I can't seem to find the one I used. But this one looks like it might be okay.

Great! Thanks! I'm actually paying for one at my bym--appointment is for Saturday April 7th at 11:30 am (sorry just reminding myself visually here). 23% is great for a woman!1 Geez i wonder what I was 18 lbs ago...

hey pretty lady!

sorry i haven't been able to make many stops in here lately!

i hope you are doing fantastic, and i also wanted to say thank you for being such a great supporter!

you rock! :D

have a fabulous day!!

Hey Dee,

Thanks for the link.

Here's my results:
You have 24.6% body fat.

You have 40.3 Pounds of fat and 127.7 Pounds of lean (muscle, bone, body water).

I don't think it's very accurate, but then again I was basing it on my last measurements and I usually measure my thighs together (so I just divided the measurement in half, which isn't correct). Oh well, that'll give me something to do tonight. I'll measure, and try it again tomorrow.

Have a great day.

I know, it's a scary thought, eh? I'd still like to have a proper assessment and see what happens. good luck with your appointment. I hope the news is good.

Thank you for your support too! You're great. Don't worry about not being able to stop by too often. I understand how hectic things get.

Not bad! It feels good to be reasonably close to a healthy body fat, doesn't it? I'm curious about how accurate it is. My friends all think that 23.2% is about right for me. They all keep telling me I'm not nearly as fat as I think I am. lol I just find it hard to look at my size and not see it as fat. I'm not a thin person, but I also have a lot more muscle mass than most women I know. So I equate being bigger than them with being fatter than them. When in reality, I'm probably not as fat as many of them.

Another stressful day. I've been so busy. Got another project just about finished tonight. Just a few finishing touches to do tomorrow. It was a pairs project, so I was working with a classmate and not alone. Generally, I find that much worse because I have ridiculously high standards and tend to be really anal about my work. But this friend of mine is exactly like me when it comes to schoolwork, so we always try to pair up. Haha. The busy day made for bad eating. I didn't eat nearly enough throughout the day and ate a big supper at a later time than usual. I don't feel like posting it because it'll just stress me out more than I already am. It looks pretty pathetic, trust me.

I weighed myself this morning and was 158.8. Monthly goal attained thus far. :) Let's hope I can keep it off until Saturday and make it official.

Congrats on meeting the monthly goal! I was always such a procrastinator that I hated working in groups too because I never wanted to let down my partners so I'd work on their schedule instead of mine.

woohoo on meeting that goal!!!

and i totally understand about not liking partner stuff! i am a very "my way or the highway" kind of girl when it comes to projects and stuff. i like to get things done right, where as lots of others just want to slack. grrr.

158.8... i'll shit my pants the day i see that! oh wait, if i did that, then i'd probably end up being more like 158.2 or something...

haha! ok, ok... bad / gross joke! but i had to! :D

congrats on all your success!!!!

Thanks! I'm a procrastinator sometimes, but I'm also very picky. It's like I just have the preconceived notion that my group members won't be able to match my standards and that makes group work a very high-anxiety task for me.

I'm glad I'm not the only one. It's probably a poor attitude, but I know that I could just take the project, do it all myself, and get an A. But instead, I have to put up with other people's crappy ideas and risk getting a worse mark. Yes, collaboration is important. But I'm a leader and I just can't have it any other way. I'm not trying to be narcissistic, but you know - it's like putting a lioness in a zebra cage and expecting her to play nice. :) lol Luckily, I really love working with this friend because she's also a complete freak.
I'll be sure to keep my distance when you reach 158.8... :p It's a good feeling, for sure. :D
