Summer: Living life to the fullest

August 7

Update: I lost exactly those 8 pounds upon my last weigh in! :D My body fat reading was 14.7%. So, the plan is to maintain here, which should be interesting. I have been in maintence for a long time. For the past few years I've had cycles of mass building in the winter months and cutting for figure competitions in the summer months. There was never really a maintenece cycle. It's tempting right now to just eat whatever I want...but that's not going to make me feel good or be a good athlete. So, I'm going to aim for eating healthy but not scrutinize all my food.

Running is going really well. I'm taking a break from weights (9 days total), and I'll start up again on Thursday.

August 14

Today I did a 9 mile run. My longest yet. I ddi it in 1 hour 50 minutes and 30 seconds. I was happy with that. 10 weeks until my race.

I'm still working on trying to perfect my nutrition so I'm eating enough to maintain. I think I've been continuing to lose, and I really don't want to lose anymore at this point. I'm lean and healthy.

My friend and I are completely renovating my website, and I had him take a few pics of me for it. I thought I would share this one:

Nevermind that link, that was an accident. Not sure if it's my computer or what but I can't post the pic. My site will be redone in a few days and I'll post the link then.

Hi Sarah,
Your link worked fine for me :)

And you look fabulous, absolutely fit and healthy!
Good luck to you on your half marathon!!

Oh thank you!

My website remodeling is all done, it just hasn't bee published yet. Probably Monday. It looks so good!

Things are going well. I seem to be making progress on my running. I just feel much lighter on my feet when I run and my times are improving. I'm getting my weight training in regularly as well. I'm trying to do short, but thorough weight workouts by doing just heavy compound movements. I don't really want to spend a lot of time on weights right now, since it's summer and running is my focus. :)

Doing well here. Friday I did my speed workout, which went better than they have been going. It was a total of 7 miles: 1 mile jog, 1 mile fast, .5 mile jog, 1 mile fast, .5 mile jog, 1 mile fast, 2 miles jog. My mile splits were 8:24, 8:42, 8:45. Speed is not my strong suit, but i'm working on it.

Yesterday hubby and I hiked all day. We volunteer to montior a section of the appalachain trail. It's a good section because it's ain a preserve, so there really isn't much misuse. It covers one entire mountain, so it's a challening hike. It was 9 miles long. It's a very beautiful hike with breathtaking views.

Had ice cream last night. And a drink. This morning I did a 2 mile jog and that's my monly workout for the day. I've got to do some PT stuff today and lots around the house. Our dryer died so I guess I'll be taking our clothes to my mother's to dry. What a pain!

Thanks! I have a website designer who did the site for me. :) I look real skinny because I stopped growing when I was 10, so I'm built like a child. My bones are the size of a kid's.

I'm only 7 weeks away from my half marathon! It's really creeping up. I'm doing well with increasing my distance and improving my speed. I guess my eating is right, because my weight is staying as is, which is what I want.

I have yet to get out for my run today because it's yucky and raining!

Thanks! It is a rewarding job. I just love watching people make prgress and change and feel good about it. :)

What a crappy labor day weekend! Clouds and rain. Blech. Today I did not do my run. This week is easy week though, so I only have 3 runs. I can easily make that up later in the week. Hubby and I went out for ice cream for the final time for the summer. I just love doing that.

Back to weight training tomorrow!

Nothing terribly interesting going on here. Well, I did have a giant chocolate chip cookie today It was soo good and so worth it! A coworker brought them in to everyone.

Had a good weight workout yesterday and tonight I have a 5 mile easy run. It's going to be sunny and 80 out today so my run should feel great!

I fully support you in your quest to get into body building stuffs, but i do take offence to your sig. It comes accross as blatent advertising and is somewhat offensive (even though i know you arnt doing fad diets etc).

I dont meant to offend, was just my humble opinion :)

Wow, it's just a signature, nothing to be upset about. Kind of sad to get that upset over something so trivial. Look at all the ads up on top of this site. The world is ful of so many REAL things to be offeneded by! My job is as an online personal trainer. It's how I support myself and my family, and I've helped very many people reach their weight loss goals and attain better health. I wouldn't be able to do that if it weren't for posting my website in my sig. :) And I'm not sure what you mean by getting in to bodybuilding stuffs? I'm not getting in to body building. I'm a runner.

And you didn't offend me. I try to let most things rool off my back. :)

Anyway, I had agood run yesterday. It was 80 and sunny and just perfect for running. It felt really good. Today is a rest day. I have to go shopping later. We're having my step father's surprise 60th birthday party tomorrow!

Ate kind of bad yesterday. I had ice cream and a chocolate chip cookie. I'll do better today!

Hi All! Today I ran 11 miles. My pace wasn't quite what I wanted it to be, but that's ok. Next week I'll do the same run and shoot for a slightly faster pace. I kind of can't believe I ran 11 miles. A few months ago I was running 4 miles for my long run! I guess anything is possible.

I was super busy doing stuff outside the rest of the day, so I can only imagine how many calories I burned!

Tomorrow is weight training. I'm geared up!
