I am 20 years old. Currently, I weight 270.0 lbs with 33.0% body fat. I started one week ago, weighing 280 lbs with 35.1% body fat.

My summer goal (Aug 18th) is to weigh 240 lbs or less with about 25% body fat. My goal before Spring Break (end of Feb) next year is to weigh 220 lbs with 15% body fat.

My plan to do this is to eat healthier. I eat small meals about 5-7 times a day. I have been trying to eat better and keep my calories around just below 2000. I eat alot of fruit, veggies, and lean protein. I strictly only drink water now (which I used to drink alot of soda). I think eatting healthier is going to be the key to my weight loss. I really haven't cheated much on it and there isn't any fast food places around me this summer so that helps alot!!!

There isn't a gym near me this summer, but I've been jogging/walking and doing some workout videos. I also work for an iron mill, and I do alot of walking around and some physical work while wearing pants and jacket.

This week I am going to start HIIT training.

Monday- HIIT train for 15 mins

Tuesday- 30 min jog and 30 min abs workout video

wednesday- HIIT train for 15 mins

Thursday- 30 min jog and body toning workout video

Friday- HIIT train for 15 mins

Saturday- 30 min Jog and a workout video

Sunday- off

As weeks go on, I will increase the amount of time on HIIT training.

I have been weighing myself every morning, but I will keep you posted weekly.

If you have any advice that could help me achieve this goal or more, that would be greatly appreciated!!!

Welcome aboard,

Looks like a very solid plan and goals. The biggest item I noticed when starting out that helped was to spend time planning and preparing meals in advance. I prepare large quantities of food on Sunday and Wednesday evenings that last for a few days at a time that way it was much easier to grab a few meals in the morning to make sure I stuck to my feeding plan.

Look forward to the updates and progress

Hey just a quick update and trying to keep motivated...

I am now 268.6 and have 32.7% body fat. I cheated a little yesterday by going out to eat with friends and not exercising when I get back, but the goal this week is to not cheat once and always doing some sort of exercise in the afternoon. Weight goal for next Saturday is 260.

Wish me luck and if anyone has any tips and advice or moral support to give that would be greatly appreciated.:bigear:

oops?!!

Welcome to the board and good luck on your weight loss journey!

Glad to hear you are off to a positive start. 2000 calories if you are in an active job sounds like a good start but make sure its 2000 cals of good stuff!!

I acatually starated using myfitnesspal.com and I actually take in about 1500 cals. I know this is kinda low but with a cheat meal around once a week that usually boost up my cal intake, i don't think my metabolism will slow down. Everyday I eat something like:

breakfast: Hard boiled egg or banana (then take a One-a-day for men for the extra vitamins)

snack: Protein bar

Lunch: turkey sandwich (with mayo :( ), an apple, and string cheese. Sometimes some carrots

snack: orange

Dinner: Fish or chicken with some sort of veggie

sometimes snack on honey roasted peanuts

I weighed myself this morning and I am down to 266.6 with 32.4% body fat. I am almost on track of weighing 260 by saturday morning. I will push it this week to ensure I make my goal.

Ok everyone...

I am at 262.6lbs with 31.8% body fat as of this morning meaning I've lost about 17 lbs in a month. This is pretty good considering I cheated too many times and didn't do my workout like I should have sometimes.

This month I will be better and I will be 240lbs by the end of the month. Also I want to be in the 20's for body fat percentage. I'm going to continue to eat about the same as I have been but cheat less and exercise when I should.

This is mainly for myself and getting healthy, but I am in Minnesota for the summer for an internship and I haven't seen my girlfriend in over a month and I won't see her until mid August. I hope there is a clear difference in me due to my hard work.

Well i am at 261 lbs and 31.4% body fat. I have been good on the diet and exercising, but seem to be stuck now around 261. I will continue to work hard and not get discouraged. I know these things take time so I will stick it out until the end.

Right now, all i do is run/walk for an hour everyday for exercise and every now and then throw in a work abs attack dvd. I can't wait to get back to college so I can go to the gym to actually start building some muscle again. I really want to tone everything and get back into shape.

If anyone has any advice to overcome the plateau, feel free to post it.

Currently, I'm 256 with 30.2% body fat. I haven't been good on diet and exercise. I am definately not eating as much as I did before the summer, which is an improvement, but I haven't been on track with the meals I set out for. I work 12 hour days 6 days a week and when I get home I am so tired I pass out before I can motivate myself to run. Does anyone know why I am so tired? I wasn't this tired a week or so ago.

Well I am at 252.2 lbs. with 29.8% body fat. I am under the 30 mark now, next step is to be under 20% ( that could be awhile). but everything is going well, I haven't really stuck to the diet all the way, but at least i am eating healthy portions and not pigging out everyday. Will it be possible to reach 210 lbs and 15% body fat by March 1st 2013???
