Hello everyone. I was inspired by reading some posts on other peoples' threads, so I just had to make one for myself. A journal, that is. None of this girly diary business
So a little about myself. I'm an 18-year-old college student. Through middle and high school my very liberal eating habits coupled with my complete disinterest in physical activities earned me 300 pounds on my 6'1" frame. Near the end of my first year at college (as in, a couple months ago) a recent visit to my doctor informed me that I have a fatty liver, and if I keep gaining weight it could permanently damage the organ.
And I decided that this summer I need to lose the weight. It's hard, even for a younger guy like me. My whole family is obese though. I figure that might be part of it, but whatever it is, it's my problem.
It's hard to motivate myself to do any exercise, but I'm trying my best. I'm eating a largely whole-grain diet with plenty of fresh fruit and lean chicken. In place of beef I'm eating vegetarian hot dogs and burgers. Other things I judge based on bad carbs, cholesterol, and total calories.
I've already lost 10 lbs. in the 2 weeks and 2 days of my plan.
Okay, well I'll keep you all informed of my progress!
