Stretchmarks...why!!!

This is a weird subject but I've been working out for a couple of months now and Im startin to get actual stretchmarks on my chest, back, and one on my tricep???.....of course these are some of the muscles that I workout the most but...should I really be gettin stretchmarks??? I take daily vitamins and eat pretty healthy....Is there something in my diet that Im got getting? Is there anything I could put on them to make them heal faster or fade away??....I am completely ignorant on all this so any info reguarding stretchmarks on guys will be helpful....

Actually it sounds like your getting exactly what you need, your muscles are growing at a pretty fast pace, faster than your skin will stretch normally. Check out some pregnancy stuff for the stretch marks - I can't vouch for any but good luck.

lol yeah, i can vouch. it works good, but i gave up bc the stretch marks just keep coming! lol, get out in the sun and they fade, IMO i find tanning less demasculinising (i kno its not a word but u get the point) than pregnant women cream..

yeah, i get em. look closely @ the pic, right by my armpit. i have them along the top of my bicep, the back part of my armpit, side of my waist, and 1 or 2 on my thighs.. lol i know it's a lot, i used to be an ecto.. and they're there for life!! they fade, but they're always there.

The only way I know of for sure to get rid of them is with cosmetic surgery. You can also get them laser-blurred nowadays, I believe.

This may not be a very masculine thing to do but it may help. By dabbing mineral oil on your skin right after you get out of the shower when your skin is still wet and then lightly dry off with a towel (don't rub just dab). This adds moisture, actually traps moisture into your skin and gives it more elasticity.....Ancient Chinese beauty secret (not really). Also what about that new scar cream, what the heck is that called mederma? that might work too.

I've read about a procedure called ERP face magic or electroridopuncture that is great for stretch marks. It's been mostly available in Europe but I think there are now a few doctors performing it in NY, Illinois, and Hawaii. Maybe even Beverly Hills and Florida?

a friend of mine had stretch marks cuz of weight training. he went to a doctor, and the doctor said that no cream in this whole wide world would help, it was all just bull****. im no doctor myself, its just what i heard him say.

Stretch marks are not the result of your muscle growing faster than your skin. It is a typical response from lifting, especially in young athletes, due to the raging fluctuations in hormones. Same with pregnant women. Doubt cream will help. Some people just get them, some don't. I personally never got one in all my years of training, and I got pretty big in my 20's. You want to blame someone? Look at your parents, because it's their set of coding that determined everything from your stretch marks to your fat distribution, etc.

haha jp you hit it right on. i have had two boys and not one stretch mark. No cream in the world will get rid of stretch marks they can fade them a bit but not get rid of them. so sorry to burst the myth. i was an esthestician for 8 years and i never came across anything that helped too much, its just a big money grab. the only thing you can do is try to minimize any further damage and prevent getting too many more. drink lots of water and moisturizer your skin to improve elasticity. good luck.
