Strech Marks? i need some info please

Hi guys im 21 years old and i weigh about 120, so im really desprate to gain weight...so i started weight lifting about a week ago and im on creatine, and have been eating at least 4000 calories a day (3000 cal from food and 1000 from protien shake, and i have been getting enough protien and some good fat). Yesterday i looked at my right shoulder and i noticed some strech marks starting to form!! Now how can i prevent future strech marks?, why am i getting them!, Can i get rid of them? thanks all

Stretch marks are a sure sign of growth!! To some extent you can mitigate the effect by finding lotions and perhaps adjusting vitamins and diet, but it's largely genetic. They'll be with you for life-i still have 'em from my teens..

The good news: they fade to skin color after a while, aren't that noticable, plus a lot of them occur in areas that aren't that visible most of the time-inner lats under the arms, inside triceps, etc.

Those who have stretch marks will often remember that getting them coincided with their fastest growth, so think positive..

you're not gonna like it, but it works! the 'pregnant women cream'..coco butter and vitamin E lotion.. itll have a pic of a pregnant lady on the front

I consider stretch marks around my arms/chest as battle scars! I went to war with my body forcing it to grow, and I won.

Get Rid Of Em

Well me 2 had a lot of stretch marks due to excessive weight lifting.apply extra virgin olive oil after u take a bath preferably.now u gotta apply this religiously for a period of three months and u will c the results.u cant expect them to fade away but yes they wont be noticable and the color of it wud be a shade lighter than ur normal skin.its better than having da ugly red marks.

I have some really bad ones on my shoulder, looks like a couger attacked my left arm. I look at them like battle scares 2, even though I don't find them very attractive.

women like ruggid men whos been in a war and stuff:p some scars is HAWT! am i right girls?:p

and yeah, a friend of mine had stretch marks, doctor said that lotiones and stuff were mostly bull****. though i have heard that you dont get stretchmarks from growing, but from when you preform an exersice :S just what i heard

During hypertrophy the muscle grows. This growth (when it happens quickly) is faster in the muscle than the skin. So, you get micro tears in the skin. If your muscles grow fast enough, the skin tears enough for it to show. In some cases, they can be pretty big (steroids). They will normally be red and nasty at first, but will simmer down with time.

One way to "possibly" avoid them (as has been noted above), apply cocoa butter creme to the area (normally the junction between the bicep and anterior deltoid running into the pecs) every morning and every evening.

You can also get strech marks (as was noted ^^^) from getting fat quickly. Your skin is not pliant enough to grow with large leaps and bounds overnight. Hence, the dillema many pregnant women find while their bellies grow.

They show up more prevalently in people of color (if you will).

Hope that helped,
Rip

Ive got a sh!tload of em on my chest and some forming on my bicep, the pregnant/cocoa butter cream did NOT work for me for some reason, idk why, I put it on every night like it said to, and kept getting em in the same spot, and I dont know about the rest of you lucky guys who hang out with these normal, unsuperficial women lol, but whenever any chick that I hang out with sees mine, they give them a look of disgust and say "what the f@ck are those?".

You can help prevent stretch marks by going on a slower bulk, and gaining less fat with it. Short of that, just hope for the best.

The first time i saw a big purple stretch mark, i had no idea what it was. I thought i'd gone and caught some kind of flesh-eating disease. That particular stretch mark isn't even visible now unless you look really close, and it was pretty massive originally. (I have a couple new ones though. )

Stretch marks fade over time. This is why everyone thinks they know a remedy for them, and why people keep buying creams that are supposed to fix them, and believing it worked. For some people they disappear almost completely, for other people they don't. Moisturizers can probably help on the preventative side, but you don't need any special one. The cheap stuff at the local Mom and Pop's is as good as any other.
