G'day all, I gather you'd all given up on me, cool !
I've been training in "The Shed" that group that I strated to tell you about but got warned off about.
Well it's been a while & Im training hard, with them, great bunch.
Part of our training was escpapes for 5 weeks, every week we'd cover escaping from, various ropes & ways of being tied up, up to recently escaping cable ties, & getting out of chains which was definately the worst.
Even as we got more advanced & into it, everthing was done open eyed then blindfolded.
You could be gagged, blindfolded, fists taped ( duct tape, then tied)
It was definitely the most interesting & psyshologically challenging way to train since the army.
I asked why we were doing this stuff.
Basically for if you were ever in a hostage situation, or your house was home invaded, abducted.
We learnt how to free ourselves in a totally black envioroment, tied to chairs, hog tied, learned how to free someone else whilst still being tied up & thrown on the ground.
I even found that its possible to escape being really bound up & not untieing
any knots/ freeing yourself by starting with only using your body & feet by slipping your shoes off & going from there.
I must say that I've never trained in this in any of the martial arts I've done before.
It was a very serious & intence waty to train, but well worth the experience i gained from it.
There are ladies who were keen to get in there & test their skills, at escaping.
I reckon it would be good if all styles did this sort of training.
teaches you , adaptability, perseverence, controll, patience, strength of character.
I must say they were geared up for any problems if someone got stuck, panicked, or was going to get injured.(Safety was paramount)
Whoa! that's were I've been in "the Shed".
We also did plenty of multiple attacker stuff, & a heap more, no kicks but some mind open ing things in their system.
I've been excepted & can train now, It's all go.(no more wondering if I stay or go.)
they have opened up a lot, really nice bunch, there's no hidden agenda, & it's still all free, we even went to the movies together to see the last Bourne identity movie that just came out.
fun night. So whats new?
nice to be back, how are you all?
