Well, here's my new weight loss diary, and hopefully my last. My name is Steve and I'm 36/m I really hope to make things stick this time, in fact let me state I AM GOING TO DO THIS. In Jan. 05 I started out at 265 lbs and made it down to 211 lbs in July '05 before I allowed a disruption of the norm (moving out of state, changing jobs, etc.) to interrupt my routine. I completely abandoned the healthy lifestyle I had begun to develop and fell right back into old habits and routines. Two and half years later I managed to exceed my previously high weight of 265 and hit 272. I'm tired of this vicious cycle and tired of feeling uncomfortable. My wife and I attended a wedding a few weeks back and when the pictures came back I was nothing short of ashamed. I hate feeling like I need to hide from cameras, and I especially hate squeezing into clothes that are on the brink of critical expansion. I went back to my limited caloric intake and walking on a daily basis and that is what I'll continue to do for now. My weight as of yesterday, 2/22/08, was 263 and my goal is 180. So 83 lbs to go and I need to quit beating myself up for having been within 31 lbs of my goal a short 2 1/2 yrs ago. So here goes again..... I plan on updating weekly so that I can remain accountable to myself and anyone else that decides to follow the progress.

I was totally shocked, especially after having a monster breakfast burrito on Sunday morning that I totally felt guilty about afterwards. Obviously I didn't feel guilty enough to NOT have too many chicken enchiladas with rice on Tuesday night. See a trend here?? Mexican food is seriously my weakness. I upped the walking in order to make up for it, and apparently that helped. I'm going to have to hope to survive this weekend though since we have family showing up later today. So the weigh in next week will probably be another nail biter. But seriously, aside from eating a couple of not necessarily "clean" meals, I'm sticking to it for the most part and doing the fast paced walking, so for now that's enough to shed the excess. I suppose I'll have to buckle down more and more as the process goes along.
