Steam rooms.

Can someone please explain the difference in the benefits between a wet steam room and dry sauna? I usually sit in one after my workout for 15 min or so but don't know which one has the better benefits. Any info is appreciated. Thanks in advance.

I dont know the difference as far as what they do to you..but this guy put some eucalyptus oil on a rag and put it over one of the vents in the steam room of the YMCA once and it really opened my chest up. Made me feel great!.

Steam rooms may make you feel better, but that's largely due to the placebo effect. Going to a steam room after a workout may help you calm down and relax, but it's not going to lower your body fat percentage or help gain lean muscle mass.

So, to answer your question, go into whichever room you feel more comfortable in, because that's all it's really doing for you.

It dramatically increases blood flow around the body which some say assists muscle repair however the link is far from certain as the bulk of the blood flow is directed towards the skin during a sauna session and not through your muscles.

I take a sauna every now and again as a treat but I would never sacrifice workout time for one
