Starving Artist? Yeah right. My weight loss thread. (Before and during!)

So, this is my second thread here.

My first one was a before and after thread, however, since then, I've discovered that I'm not done losing weight.

I'm Jean, and I'm seventeen years old. I'm 5'6, and currently weigh somewhere around 180 (I'm pretty sure that it's 178).

I feel great in most clothes that I put on, but I want to be able to feel great all of the time.

I've realized that even though I've gained a lot of confidence since I first started losing in 07, it's not enough.

I can't go through the rest of my life feeling the way that I do now, and I'm going to do something about it.

If you didn't read my first thread, here's the deal.

I turned seventeen in December 07, and as soon as I hit that age, I realized that it was time to do something about my weight.

I weight exactly 210, and I was a size 20!

It took me about two months to lose 30 pounds, and that's where I am now.

A lot of stuff has happened since that time, however, I've managed to keep all of my weight off... which is really amazing.

I pretty much went right back to eating what I did before, except I didn't gain anything back.

Now, I've got to get back on the wagon and start losing more.

My goal weight is 150.
My current weight is 174.

That means that I have 28 pounds to lose.

I didn't mention this before, but recently this year I got my GED.

I'm hoping to get into college somewhere, and before I start my new life, I need a new body.

That's one of the largest reasons that I'm doing this.

I need to be alright with myself before I can deal with anything else.

So, here are some before pictures of from when I weighed 210, then my 180 pictures, and hopefully soon, I can upload pictures when I get even lighter!

Oh man, I'm so excited! :D

210:

175-174:

So, there are the photos! I'll post more when I reach 160. :)

A little bit of an update:

I found out that the scale I had been using was weighing me four pounds above what I really weigh.

The owner told me that yesterday, so, I'm just subtracting four from whatever it tells me from now on. xD

That would mean that I really started at like 174-175.

So, I changed the weights in my first post. :)

I'll be back when I reach 160. ^___^

Also, I changed my ticker around a bit.

Instead of it starting at 174, I started it at 210.

So, now it shows my complete weight loss. :)

I figured that might help me keep going. o:

Good going! We are same height. I'm at 177, but hopefully that will drop this weekend, geesh! Our body types are different but I look forward to tracking your progress in comparison to my own. You also have the advantage of youthful metabolism (oh woe is meeeee!)

College is a great motivation (and just think of all those great back to school clothes, mwa ha!) You will have a wonderful time. So different from high school. Do you know what you want to study?

Keep us posted, and again, congrats on your progress so far!

Get down, girl, go 'head get down. :D

What are you doing, nutritionally?

Well, I've been finding that instead of the lack of food I'm eating being difficult to deal with, I'm actually having trouble eating so much.

I know that you're not supposed to eat under 1,200 calories a day, but I'm having trouble remembering to eat so much. Ha ha.

Basically, I've been living off of South Beach diet and Healthy choice frozen meals.

Well, not living off of them, but they've really helped me out.

They're so easy, and easy is just what I need right now. :)

I usually eat a small snack in between meals too, such as an apple or some low calorie yogurt.

The only exercise I've been doing is walking. Lot's and lot's of walking.

Of course, where I live, it's so hot, that after you get back from a walk around the neighborhood, you're sweating bullets.

I haven't really done any other form of exercise yet because I know that if I buy myself a tape, I'll never watch it, and if I put myself on some sort of schedule, I'll find a reason to get off of it. D:

177? Awesome. :D

I'm not sure if you've been previously losing weight, or if you've just started, but if you have been losing, doesn't it feel great to get out of the 180's? :)

That's my favorite part of losing weight: weighing yourself, only to find that the second number on the scale has gone down.

Yes, you are right, I am excited to get some new clothes. :)

I'm thinking of getting some new hairstyle as well. I love short hair, but I've stayed away from it for so long. I know it's not right for my body type... or, at least that's how I've thought.

It's so fun to plan ahead of time for when you've lost weight. :)

Well, I'm really hoping to get into the art school that we have around here. Not now or anything, I need to get a lot of school knocked out before I could even go, but I'd really love to be a professional photographer.

Even though I won't be making buckets of money as soon as I get out of school, I'm going to be doing something that I love.

Good luck with your weight loss! :)

After doing some research on frozen meals, I've decided not to eat them anymore.

I had no idea at the time that they had so much sodium. Because of that, I bloated up, and I couldn't figure out why.

So, I actually wouldn't recommend those things... unless you can find the kind with little sodium. O:

Hey, Well done on the brilliant weight loss so far!
only 26lb to go now, you will get rid of that in no time at all.

Those pictures where you are 174 - you don't look it at all. Good luck with the rest of your weight loss =D

lol, ur cat is funny. :)
You look great.

Ah, yes. That would be Oliver. Ha ha, he's always getting in the way, but I love him. ^__^

And thank you! :D

@ iLikeMyUserName: Thanks a whole bunch! :)

That's what I've been told, but everyone is their own worst critic, I suppose. :D

Good luck to you!

Update, update, UPDATE:

So, this morning when I weighed in, I got a really nice surprise.

I didn't only make it to 160, but a little below. ;)

I weighed in this morning at 159.8. :D

I haven't been in the 150s since I was 13.

However, I haven't noticed a huge change or anything, but I will say that my pants have gotten quite big, and others have noticed. :)

Anyway, here are pictures:

Can anyone see a difference?

Hopefully you can. o:

I can't quite see it, but I feel it from all of the working out.

I've been doing 30 minutes on our exercise bike everyday except Sunday, and not taking in more than 1,300 calories.

I haven't been going below 1,200, though.

Well, I'll be back to update again around 150, I believe.

Maybe 155 or so depending on how much of a change I see. o:

Bye for now!~

Wow i can def see the difference between the 174 and 159 photos. You stomach and face both show it. Good job and keep up the good work! 9 more pounds!

Hey guys. It's been a good while since I updated, and a lot has happened since then. :)

I've been living in with my boyfriend's mother. She just had a huge surgery, and I've been having to stay with her and help her recover.

I haven't been able to lose much, since the house isn't really diet friendly or exercise friendly.

It's okay, though. I've still lost a few pounds.

Here's some pictures.

Me at 155.6-156.6:

I can't really see a difference at all from last time, but it's alright.

I didn't think there would be one. I mean, it's only a few pounds. :)

I'll update again soon, I promise. :)

Okay guys, so I went to the mall today and got some recent pictures of myself. :D

It's only two of them, and they were snapped by me in the dressing room.

That super cute dress that I tried on was a size 10! :D

I didn't buy the dress, however. It was a whopping 140 bucks, and I just don't have that kind of money right now.

It was nice to put on, though. :)

Oh, and also, for the first time today, I caught a guy... checking me out.

I don't know about you guys, but for me that was the best damned feeling in the whole world.

I haven't been checked out in like... two years or something. At least, I haven't seen them doing it.

It was so funny, because he was working in one of the stores in the mall, and we walked past the opening and I saw him, and when he saw me he started to fix his hair.

I thought it was really weird, and as we walked past the store, I looked into another window in the store, and there he was, still looking at me.

Oh man, I know I kind of went into too much detail, but it was so new for me.

Ha ha. :)

Anyway, those pictures:

You know, it's so funny how thin I look in those pictures, when in reality, I'm not that thin at all.

It's the little things that I see that others don't.

Such as the stomach pudge. Oh my God. It's so ugly, and I can't wait until it's gone.

Or the arm flab.

I can't wait until all of those things are gone. :)

Oh, and by the way, I am about 153-154 in those pictures. :)

congrats on the loss so far! You look amazing! Such a pretty face, you should be proud that guys are checking you out now! Good luck.

Wow! You look fantastic! That dress you tried on is really cute too. Too bad it was $$. lol

You are SO close to your goal, it's amazing.
