Starting over (and over and over)

I can totally relate to who your are and how you've come to be in the world. I have always been a big girl. I wish you the best of luck, I too am starting over, and over and over. I have been dealing with it all of my life and since losing 54lbs, I am starting to visualize the skinny me in the picture I have never been in. I hope we both get our pictures. I wish you the best of luck and will be checking in to see how your doing!
Jess

Hey there Jess, thanks for stopping in and giving your support. Congrats on your 54pound loss, Its pretty scary when you have always been big, I have a hard time even visualizing what a healthy weight will look like for me.
I guess its all about discover *not being afraid of what you don't know, just being excited about what you are about to discover about yourself*

Thats how I am trying to think, because I am wayyyyyy to freaking good at self sabotaging myself, so I needed to look at it a different way.

I also wish you the best of luck on your journey and I look forward to us 'getting our pictures' ~ Michelle

So, I am very excited to be leaving for the Lake soon.... One of the pluses is that Two of my friends going have lost a significant amount of weight. They are both wanting to do lots of swimming and other forms of exercise while we are up there, and I really think thats what I need to help kick my ass to exercising more. My plan *as long as my teeth are not going to completely chatter out of my head* Is to to swim everyday. I can't to huge hikes, but I still plan on walking *there are some amazing trails* SO....Im mentally and emotionally preparing for this. I still plan on indulging in some goodies, but am not planning on going nutty. lol

Which lake are you going to, if I'm not being too nosy?

Yay, swimming - you may have noticed that I'm a fan of swimming.

Hope you have a really good time - let yourself indulge a little bit - it's good for the soul. Just don't go nuts. :)

We are going to Green Lake in 70mile house. I am Soooooooo excited..lol. I hope its not totally freezing in the water, because we really want to swim across the lake. *obviously I didn't think you were too nosy... lol

I love Green Lake - it's only an hour and a half from here.

The water is so beautiful and...um....green. :)

We day trip there in the summer occasionally, and my wife's family has a reunion there every 5 years.

It is probably one of the prettiest lakes i have swam in. No matter how far you go out, you see all the way down to the bottom, it is so clear.. *actually when its really deep the bottom kinda fades away, but still it is clear.. and yes, very green.
Last time we went... we were out swimming in the lake and a huge buck came down the the edge of the lake to drink, so we watched him, The next thing you know, he is tossing the water up in the air with his antlers and bouncing around and playing in the water. It was amazing, he was so beautiful. *mind you, we were kinda stuck in the lake until he was done messing around...lol*

Isn't anticipation/ excitement the best emotion!? I love it... I always like having something to look forward to (and, hey, theres ALWAYS SOMETHING to look forward to!)

Glad you are excited, and I'm sure you'll be back brighter than usual! Have a great day!

I totally agree, and the experience of being there was not a let down from the excitement of going. We had a wonderful time. I can't say I followed any diet regime, but i have no regrets either.
Thanks so much for your comments... :D

Welcome back!

Glad you had a great time on your holiday! No regrets is good.

Hey Cord, thanks so much, I did really enjoy myself... No Regrets, but I did do some thinking about what changes I need to make to be successful in losing weight. I guess it was a good time to reflect on things. Its alllll good! :D

Ok, some of my positive moments today are : 1 ~ I really wanted to get a burger and fries from a fast food place (I wasnt hungry, just wanted the flavor, but I DIDN'T 2~ There was pizza, chips, fruit and candy at work for all of us that were helping with the move, I only had 2 pieces of pizza, a handful of chips and I chose fruit over candy. 3 ~ I drank lots of water all day.
Some of my less positive moments today were:
1 ~ I drank lots of diet pop * I really want to limit the aspartame I consume 2 ~ I had too much dinner, even though it was healthy, I kept eating after I was full *I am really trying to break that habit*
Was an ok day, I am reading over my weight watchers mataerial, am debating on whether or not to continue with them or join TOPS *taking off pounds sensibly*

Well... Dan and I just had the " we need to make some better choices" conversation...He was working really hard and started to lose weight again, but now he is coming off the 7 days of eating whatever vacation. I just struggle so hard when Im trying to watch what I eat and he brings chocolate and chips into the house.
He agreed, and said we are in this together because he wants to get healthy and he wants me to be healthy.
So, we are going to plan out some dinners together and shop ahead for those meals so that we lessen the chances of poor choices. :D

Well...Im actually looking into starting a TOPS group, *just considering so far* Not sure what day that will fall on yet. Dan and I have to tighten the budget strings *damn it*..lol... because he will be needing to take more time off of work to promote his art.
TOPS is around 30 $ a year... and a small weekly fee
*around 3 - 4 $
Huuuuuge difference from what WW charges, but i will still use all the information.
I know HOW to lose weight, just forget at times HOW to convince myself to stick to it... I need a wee little shot of STICKTOITIVENESS...lol

We should be losing a bit of weight moving the group home! My body is a hurtin unit today....
See ya at work :)

Hey Michelle :). I love the title of your diary, very true for most of us on here so its sort of morbidly funny in that sense. Those plans you and Dan have sound great. Did y'all come up with some nice dinner ideas? Best wishes to you :).

That's excellent, Michelle!

Teamwork will make the whole thing run so much smoother. I'm glad Dan is on board - it is hard to eat right when someone is munching chips right next to you.
Planning and shopping ahead is good.

Hey there Blancita, thanks very much, the title is soooo completely true for me. It's all good, cuz it means i have not given up yet... slap me if I do...lol
Actually Dan and I do love to cook, he used to be the one to use tons of olive oil and every spice on the shelf. Now, he really thinks about the taste and isn't so olive oil happy. We both love to use lots of veggies and we are into some of the leaner cuts of meats... *chicken, seafood, buffalo.

Our biggest challenge is organization.. we are going to try to make up some menu plans this weekend...and shop for it. Hopefully it goes well...lol
