Starting over (and over and over)

It has been a while, but its great to see you. I know i really struggle when the weather is cold to get my water intake up. Im not a huge tea (herbal or not) drinker, so.. i find that hard. Jello does count...lol *sugar free for me* So, if i am really struggling to drink, i eat jello and soups.
Hey there! Long time, I know. Hope you are keeping well.

It's winter in South Africa, and I'm also struggling to get my water in... I started drinking more decaffienated/herbal teas... they count as water too... and taste better!

Today was a little iffy for me...lot of struggling to keep things in check. Honestly, I could have eaten a bus...was like that from the time i woke up. I did manage to drink a lot of fluids today though.
Breakfast: toast with PB.. as I was running out the door
Lunch: chicken noodle soup *canned* with an egg in it *beat an egg and add it to soup when it is boiling* Lots of crackers... *1/2 pack of saltines *oops*, ice latte unsweetened, 2 cookies
Snack *2 more cookies*
Dinner: curried veggie and white fish stew, 2 pieces of toast
Snack: cheese and crackers, apple
Fluids.... 2 1/2 liters of water/ water with crytal lite

i had a pretty busy weekend... Ate out a fair amount... Went to a Birthday Party, Spent all day Sunday with a friend helping her pack to move and then came home an chipped away at piles of laundry. Even though I was away from home a lot, I did make some pretty healthy choices, and then of course a couple that could have been better * like fish and chips,.. probably not the best choice, and I felt sick after*

So... I took my measurements tonight. * auuurrg* which I actually posted in an accountability forum... was really hard to do.
Tuesday this week, Dan and I are going to aqua fit.. The rest of the week will be getting ready to go away to a cabin on Green lake for all of next week *woo hoo* I will be doing lots of swimming at the lake for sure
There is a group of 7 of us friends going to the lake and we are all responsible for 1 dinner each that we will cook for everyone when we are up there. Dan and I have already planned healthy meals, lots of fruits and veggies and healthier snacks. (of course we will have some goodies, but not the crap loads that we have brought in the past)

Measurements:
Neck: 16.5
Chest: 55 (just wearing tank with support)
Under bust: 53.5
Hips:60.5
Upper thigh R: 25
Calf R:15
Upper Arm R: 12.5 (may need to re-measure this one, was awkward to do)

I woke up feeling really good this morning ~ Sleeping in can be a wonderful thing!
I work 12 - 10pm tonight, and that sometimes leads me to snacking on not so good things during the day (way to easy if there are home baked cookies in the kitchen or in the freezer.)
Today I had a banana when i got up
Am bringing a chicken breast to work, and we have veggies there, so I will probably make a stirfry for my lunch (kinda a brunch)
Am not sure what we are making our guys for supper, but if Christina is cooking I may take a portion out and modify it a bit so it works for my goals.
I feel a bit un-organized because I am going away, so I dont want to buy too many veggies unless I can for sure use them all.
Michelle

Hello Michelle, you must have a full kitchen there at work to make a stirfry? MMm, sounds good.

Where are you off to?

I am going on the Kids Cancer Ride this coming Friday to Sunday with my dad. It WILL be fun (as I keep telling myself) I am just stressed out about food choices. I know I can stick to salads, and be a little embarrassed about telling them to hold half of it, you know hold the cheese, hold the bacon, hold the dip, hold the sauce, hold it ALL!

I was thinking of treating myself by not counting calories for those three days, but only having mounds of raw veggies and fruits, nothing else. I guess I may be a little poo poo'd but it is MY choice, and I don't want one where I will feel extremely guilty. I am praying for a pound drop this weekend and I don't need to gain weight and feel worse.

Okay thanks for letting me rant on your thread...although u didn't actually let me, I just sort of did.....;)

Glad you are feeling great Michelle :D Sounds like you will be having a blast going away with your friends! What fun! And you just got back from Seattle.. what a jetsetter you are :D hehehehe

Have a great time!!!!

Yeah, you're heading off all over the place!

Wherever and whenever you are going, have fun and be well.

Very cool to have sufficient kitchen facilities at work to be able to whip up a stir-fry.

Its funny, im getting lots of comments on here and from other friends about all the traveling im doing. Not a usual thing for me, but Ill take it! lol... As for the stocked kitchen, Im pretty lucky to work in a group home that encourages healthy home cooked meals for the individuals we support and the staff. We keep the house stalked up with fresh veggies that we buy weekly. It really is a better situation than working in an office setting, where my healthy options are limited to what comes out of a vending machine or what i bring in...lol
Whats good also, is that if i chose to have something other than what is on their menu, I can bring something else and cook it there.
A couple of my co-workers love to bake, so... that is an evil temptation that I need to fight fairly regularly *and I don't always win*...sigh

Today was pretty good for me...
Breakfast: Banana, non sweetened, fat free iced latte
Lunch: Chicken breast *skinless, boneless* baked, carrot sticks and cucumber slices with non fat dressing *just over 1 teaspoon* water
Dinner: 1 homemade hamburger *BBQ'd* on a small bun, salad, oven baked fries (about 20 fries) On burger mustard, mushrooms and onions (cooked with cooking spray) 1/2 ounce cheese, pickles **No mayo or margarine**
Evening: diet pepsi, water

So, I am very excited to be leaving for the Lake soon.... One of the pluses is that Two of my friends going have lost a significant amount of weight. They are both wanting to do lots of swimming and other forms of exercise while we are up there, and I really think thats what I need to help kick my ass to exercising more. My plan *as long as my teeth are not going to completely chatter out of my head* Is to to swim everyday. I can't to huge hikes, but I still plan on walking *there are some amazing trails* SO....Im mentally and emotionally preparing for this. I still plan on indulging in some goodies, but am not planning on going nutty. lol

I can totally relate to who your are and how you've come to be in the world. I have always been a big girl. I wish you the best of luck, I too am starting over, and over and over. I have been dealing with it all of my life and since losing 54lbs, I am starting to visualize the skinny me in the picture I have never been in. I hope we both get our pictures. I wish you the best of luck and will be checking in to see how your doing!
