Starting over! And blogging this time.

I'm still the same weight, 227.1 :(

I'm starting to get worried. I'm afraid my weight loss is going to slow down big time, or stop all together because of two factors.

1. I can't exercise much right now with the broken foot.
and
2. My hypothyroidism makes it pretty hard to lose weight without exercising.
I have a swimming pool which needs to be cleaned up BIG TIME. But hopefully when I get it cleaned up and it warms up (the pool water) I can do water exercise so I don't put too much stress on my foot. I just hope I can afford to clean my pool this year, money is very tight XD

Oh man, you have a pool? Tell you what, I'll come over and clean it for you if you let me use it, like every day! ^_~ I love swimming. I always say that I never would have gotten fat if I had a pool because I would be in it for hours a day.

Don't worry that you didn't lose anything in a couple of days. You just lost 3 pounds last week, remember? It's not the day to day that matters, it's the loss over time. And weight loss does slow a bit after the first couple weeks, and even more the more you lose. Just keep eating right and doing the exercising you can without hurting your foot. I bet you'll keep losing, even if it's a little slower than you would if your foot was ok.

Mizzie I'm so excited to open the pool, I wish summer would hurry up and get here!

Guys I don't know what is going on, I didn't weigh myself this morning because I knew I'd be upset but I know it would be irrational to get upset.

I'm retaining a LOT of water right now. I'm not sure why. I drank 3 liters of water yesterday and only peed 2 times throughout the day. Today I've drank almost a liter so far PLUS i took a diuretic and I still haven't gone to the bathroom.

I know I am more likely to hold on to water because of my thyroid but I'm so swelled up from the water right now. I don't think it's ever been this bad. Any advice on getting rid of this water weight? My face is even swelling up!

Did a little research for you..Not sure it's correct but it can't hurt to try? Also, a lot of things I read suggested more protein.

•Lemon juice mixed with water

•Tomato Juice - (or water) with real lemon

•Pink grapefruit juice

•Spices - Anise, peppermint, parsley, ginger and garlic are good sources

woohoo! thank you very much! I'm gonna buy some of the juices tomorrow, and tonight add parsley and garlic to my dinner. I just took another water pill about an hour ago and i'm still not peeing!

I'm so frustrated....
I haven't lost ANYTHING this week. In fact I'm UP. I weighed in at 228 this morning... I haven't been over eating. I'm drinking 3 liters of water a day. I'm eating a balanced diet.

What am I doing wrong!??!?! I'm even walking as much as my foot allows. BLARRRHGHGHGHGHA!

I added a bunch of garlic in my soup last night and It helped me get rid of some of this water weight I've been hoarding.

However today was my weekly weigh in day and I'm not happy AT ALL!!!!
Yea yea it's a loss, and a loss is better then a gain. But I'm not happy that the loss was so small. Hopefully I can start walking more this week.

Last weeks weigh in:227.1
this weeks: 226.4

BLAAAH!
The positive thing is, this past december I weighed in at 244. Almost down 20 pounds and down 10 since i've started making a conscious effort.

It's always frustrating when you expect more of a loss than you get. We've all been there. But hang in there! You are making wonderful progress and there are so many things that can throw off a weigh in. Things you can't always control. Individual weigh ins actually don't matter as much as over all trends. Your number is going down, more some weeks and less others, but still going down and that's what counts.

Don't get down on yourself, you are doing great!

I just walked a 1.3 miles on Walk it Out on the Wii! Woohoo! My foot hurts but I'm getting used to the pain a little more every new day. I can even put a normal shoe on my foot now. I can't walk normal though, I hope I can one day. I plan on walking more on it later tonight, i'll shoot for another 1.3 miles or around that. The game said I burned 172 calories.

I was really apprehensive about this game when my friend recommended it but now I'm really feeling good about it. I can walk in my house with the game instead of walking outside with the big ass walking cast on my foot. It's more comfortable this way.

I'm so bad with the scale... but so happy at the same time!!!

I'm 225.8! Yesterday I was 226.4!! Woohoo!!
I think being able to walk some is really going to help. Yesterday I walked 2.8 miles. Today I'm aiming for 3.

This week is looking like it's going to be a GREAT week!! (Except I think I'm taking a pregnancy test tonight... will report on this if there's anything worth reporting)

I can't wait till tuesdays weigh in day! I'm almost back to the weight I was in october of 2008! So exciting!!! I can't wait till im in the 100's again. And I know I'm going to do it. I'm doing so well with my weight loss. I don't mean to brag but I'm just so excited!!!

Now I just need to find a job.

I am sooo hungry right now!!! I'm trying so hard to resist but I think I am going to give in, and eat a bowl of cereal. If it wasn't 10 pm I wouldn't care that much. But its 10pm and I've already eaten about 1600 calories.. boo

last week-226.4
this week-223.3

im so happy that it was a 3 pound loss this week, but I would have been even happier if it was a 3.5 pound loss!

Getting Started!

Congrats on getting started and using this forum as a source of accountability, I think it's great.

Sometimes we get so caught up in the losing of the weight, we forget why we really want to make changes. Perhaps this time, keep something posted where you can see it that lists the 5 reasons you want to get healthy and STAY healthy. Unfortunately, once people lose weight it's almost as though they feel they're "done" when it truth, it's just the beginning.

Find the reasons that really matter to you to feel better, more energetic, or whatever it is that you feel when your body is lighter. Knowing the value of making healthy changes will likely keep you on track for the long haul!

Good luck. I look forward to following your success!

I actually have a lot of things that are motivating me to lose weight. I guess I'll list the reasons that I can think of off the top of my head.

To feel comfortable
To shop for clothes I actually like
Better sex, haha!
Go to the beach in a bathing suit
To lower my cholesterol
To have a baby
To be more active
To be healthy
I want to be able to go out without worrying how others see me!
To get my confidence back

2 pounds to go to hit my 20 pound mark!!!! I've only been doing this for 5 weeks, and I've been limited for exercise with my broken foot. I feel so accomplished. I can't wait till I'm thin!! I am sooo looking forward to shopping in thrift stores for clothes, just can't find anything at my weight right now.
