Hello there,
Fellow binge-drinker here too. I can totally relate when you say how you put the weight on as it's the exact same thing I did. I would binge drink all day long (eating only snacks to tide me over), and then at night I would eat whatever horrible, starchy greasy thing I could find so that I wouldn't be 'too' sick the next morning. Then the next day I would eat and eat to alleviate my hangover. That was usually my cycle. Drink one day, hangover the next etc, with a clean and sober day here and there when shit needed to get done!
I successfully cut down on my drinking when I started to lose weight. Mainly because I needed to get into the habit of healthy living and exercise. Then I phased it back in. So now when I drink I don't overeat too much, and I try to only drink socially (I used to drink alone at home most of the time).
Having said all that, I've been very busy and stressed the last two or three weeks and my drinking has taken an upturn again. I applaud you for having the courage to start the AA program, I don't think I would, but I'm afraid to say that I can see a day in the future when I may not have a choice.
Best of luck to you in your weight loss and in changing your life for the better.

glad to see your eating plan fits so well with work. Has your wife said anything about your new food and exercise plan?
You seriously are taking full responsibility and being quite conscientious! Way to go! Glad you're mindful of your macros and water intake
