Hi Stacy

I am so pleased that you are back in. Kimberly is right - you are really loved here.:grouphug::grouphug:

We all need the support of our friends. I need you here to support me.

Dont worry about the eyesight thing. I have been wearing glasses all the time since I was about 20 (before that I wore them some of the time).

Now my eyes have got to the stage where I take my glasses off to do anything close up - write on the computer, read, chop veg, eat my dinner - you name it anything. Then I need my glasses on to watch tv or talk to people across a room. I am one of those middle aged women that are always leaving their glasses somewhere around the house and forever looking for them. That really makes you feel like you are getting old......

Take care

 lol Margaret!

Awww...That just made me think of my precious Nannie.

She does that all the time..Most of the time they are on her head.

Now, she has done some crazy things!

She once put Prep. H on her toothbrush...

She sprayed Deo in her hair and hairspray under her arms..

She's always callin' and tellin' me her latest goof. ;)

:( I miss her... She wasn't able to come in for TG bc it's a 2 hour drive and she wasn't feelin' well. My precious Nannie was alone on TG and that just breaks my heart.

Back to the glasses:

I have a real bad time driving at night! I can't see the curbs and I squint too much. The other car lights drive me bonkers as well!

Cory had to get glasses last year.

It's time for his check-up so I guess I'll get checked out when I take him. :)

Hi Stacy

My glasses are up on the top of my head now.

It is a shame that you didnt get to see your grandmother for Thanksgiving because she wasnt feeling well. I know that you have said before that you have always been close to her. I am sure that she knows that you wanted to be with her which is very important.

I never met either of my grandmothers - they both died in the 1920s. I have some lovely photos of them though. My father's mother was called Margaret and she had two sisters Alpha and Omega - all oft-used traditional family names. I guess that I was lucky to get named Margaret.

I havent driven in over 20 years. My husband told me that I was the world's worst driver once too often - so I gave my car away and informed him that henceforth he would have to drive me everywhere. I often worked in central London so I would go to work by train anyway so it really wasnt too much of a problem. I dont even miss driving now - I can deal with most things on foot and the walking is good for me. I would want to take more driving lessons if I wanted to drive again (even though my license is still current) - but then I would have to buy a car for me. It is not really something that I currently want to do. Maybe when I get older...

Take care

Awwww...I'm so sorry...What a shame..

I feel a void bc of never knowing my Pappy..{Mom's father} he died before I was born. He was 30 years older than my Nana Margie{Mom's Mother}..

He died of cancer.

Nana Margie also died of cancer. {13 years ago.}

I'm so glad she was able to take joy in me giving her - her first Great-Grandchild. She died when Cory was only 9 mo. old.

Funny Story about my Nannie's...
(pronounced Naw*Knee)

Gotta set the story up a bit, so bare w/me..

My dad's mom whom I'm always talkin' about is such a stinker and has always been a stinker. She is full of life - cheer - inner/outer beauty - and has a bigger than life personality and sense of humor.
She always tried to get us to say one cuss word when we were lil bc she just thought it was too funny... It was Bullshit ... lol
She would whisper it in our ears and tell us to say it. (she did this w/all of us)

Nana Margie was a stinker to and all of those things.. She loved to scare me to death w/her false teeth. I will never forget the one time she made my favorite homemade potato & leek soup and she hid her dern teeth in my soup. When I went to take my first bite, my spoon had her teeth on it and I screamed and cried.

Ok, so now you'll understand this part now...

My parents said I had just turned 4 and we were on our way to see Nannie..Once we had been in the car a while, I asked very loudly,
Which Nannie are we goin' ta see? My Nannie Margie or my Bullshit Nannie? :D

We were going to see Bullshit Nannie. ;)

Of course when my parents told her that once we arrived she just ate it up.

lol

Hi Stacy

That is so funny. Both your grandmothers sound such funny people. You must have lots of really nice memories of them.

I only ever met one of my grandfathers a couple of times.

My father lost both his parents when he was a small child. Luckily he was the youngest of nine - so he had plenty big brothers and sisters. He was effectively raised my one of his sisters.

My mothers parents split up when she was little - he had been a changed man when he returned from World War 1. Then her mother died when she was 7. She was raised by other family members and did not see a lot of her father. She had to trace him to get permission to marry aged 20 in 1942 (then you needed parental permission if under 21).

She got that she didnt know if he was alive or dead.

We all got such a surprise when he turned up one day when I was about 10 years old. He was dying and had decided to trace us to get in touch and say to my mother that he was sorry about how things had gone.

I had lots of wonderful influential older relatives that I spent a lot of time with as a child - but none of them were my actual grandparents.

Take care

Wow Margaret... :hug2:

I'm so glad you had plenty of loving/caring family members at your side. :)

>>>>>>>>

Goodness...Here it is 3:18AM here... <Uggggggg>

Poor hubby will once again have a hard time tryin' ta get me up.

He said this morning I told him To Get Lost. :D

LOL... I'm such a crank in the morning and I have been told when I'm still half asleep and cranky I tend to get upset...lol :D

I also do not like talking or looking at anyone until I've at least had 1 c. of coffee.

LOL!!!

(Gosh...That is so like my dad!)

I used to be scared to death to ask him for lunch money when I was ready to head off for school bc I knew he hadn't had any coffee yet..

I better go try and get some shut-eye.

:hug2:

:grouphug: For All...

Hi Stacy

I hope you sleep well

I am out on my long walk in a minute.

It is no wonder you told him to get lost when you hadnt slept. Cant you tell him to just crawl in next to you and let you get your sleep out. You might sleep better with someone there. Cory is a big lad and he doesnt need you up to look after him the way he did when he was young.

I am sure that when you wake up naturally you could get out without disturbing your husband. Then go and get your coffee and get ready to face the world.

Take care

Margaret

LOL... We used to do that ....

Hubby is such a light sleeper though, when the alarm would go off for me, it would wake him up and he couldn't go back to sleep.

I also sleep in the middle of the bed...lol... For some reason when I'm alone, that makes me feel safer.. I just cannot sleep on my side bc I feel too far away...LMBO! We have a CA King bed by the way, the biggest they make.

Hubby could not get me scooted over bc I was so sound to sleep and was like a huge log.. HAHAHAHA!

It just ended and we haven't tried again...lol

I wish we had a 3rd bedroom! I'd just walk my sleepy butt in there and then go back to sleep. :D

I woke up and the tree is up/shaped/has lights on! :hurray:

I will need to shape it up a lil bit more and then I can start decorating.

I'll be listening to C-Mas Music all day again. :D

I'm so excited bc I'll be able to accomplish everything now earlier and get my life back..LMBO! :hurray:

I'm in the mood 4 shopping as well since I'm almost finished decorating. :biggrinjester:

:flame: Today should be last day for RHC..Thank Gosh!

This seemed like such a long one this time!

I'll weigh in Wed. to see if there are any changes..

I've put the scale up bc I was weighing everyday and it was messin' w/me..

I'll be taking pics soon of everything so you guys can see how hard I've worked on all the C-Mas stuff.. lol

Have A Great Day Everyone!! :grouphug:

What a sweet hubby!!!! I can't wait to see all the pictures!!! :D

And what does RHC stand for? I think I've gathered that you all are talking about the time of the month, but I just don't what the actual letters RHC stand for.

Thanks! :)

I was sooo close!

I had a feeling it was red headed something... I just wasn't sure about the "c".

Thanks!!!

:D

I'm glad you decided to stick with the Holiday Challenge! I am looking forward to a new one starting so I can join! I was too late for all the others.

Thanks!

I have had so many melt downs lately.. :D

I think that's part of the reason hubby also did the tree..

He wants his normal wife back.. HAHAHAHA! :D

Whelp, time for me to get busy..

I'm so proud of myself bc I took the time to make a sf/carn. instant breakfast smoothie for a late breakfast..

Yesterday I didn't even eat until almost 5PM!

Lunch will probably be the same thing bc I want to keep cals low since I have not exercised in a few days! Also bc it's quick and that way my body will have fuel.

Dinner will be soup 'n salad.

Man, it's great soup weather!

It's 41* and still raining!

We may end up with flash flood warnings if it doesn't take a break!

It rained all day/night yesterday..

Okies, I'll check in when I take lil breaks..

Time ta crank up the music and decorate the tree! :D

heya darlin!

i'm so jealous you've got all your christmas stuff out!! i'm getting excited for december! also, one of my roomie's will be moving out so i'll actually be able to get to my christmas stuff. none of us are here on christmas, but i still put up lights around the windows, and put up my little tiny miniature fibre optic tree. lol. i like having it on while i'm sitting on the couch watching Grey's.

anyways, hope you're having a great weekend! :hug2:

Hi sweetie-poo. :D :waving:

Takin' a quick break..

Just got through puttin' the silver bead garland on tree.

Man, took 4-ever to get the tree shaped good and replace silly lights that went out.

Just now fixin' ta start on the ornaments. :willy_nilly:

Our lil tree is so funny.. We call it the Charlie Brown Tree.

It looks pretty and not so sad once all the ornaments are on.. :biggrinjester:

:hurray: The Brenda Lee song is next! Rockin' around the Christmas tree..

Gotta get up and do my lil C-Mas Jig. :)

Hi Stacy

It was really nice of your hubby to put the tree up so that you can get on with the decorations. It is good that he is so supportive. Together you make a good team.

We are so lucky to have husbands that understand our little quirks and support us.

Thinking of what you wrote earlier - why do you bother setting an alarm for yourself? Especially if you would move to another bedroom and get back to sleep when he gets home. Why not for an experiment just not set an alarm when you go to bed. OK - you will be in the middle of the bed - so if he wakes you gently you can move over and get back to sleep when he climbs in. You get the rest of your sleep out until you wake up naturally. You get up quietly and go get yourself your coffee while he sleeps on. It sounds worth trying to me.

Take care
Love
Margaret

Oh Yea!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

YEAH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I'm so damn excited you have no idea!! Thank you SOOOMUCH for staying in the challenge with me, I just like you when it comes to not wanting to let me team mates down, but you know what, for some reason this time, I'm not going to let that bother me, it's about doing all that I can do to the best of my abilities, and that's it. I know you will do the best you can and I'll be so proud when we both make it to the end, regardless of the outcome

Seems you got some Christmas decorating accomplished already, lucky lady!! I don't have anything out yet for Christmas, LOL LOL I'm still trying to get stuff put up for fall and Thanksgiving. I'll probably have the tree up next weekend and then some lights, since we live in the sticks we no longer put them all over the house, because only one other house can see them,LOL LOL I do string them around my deck and railing, just so I can see them when I get home in the evenings, I love that!!

Well girlie, tomorrow is a new week, and I'm so excited to get started! I just hope our weather is decent, it rained a little here today and it's supposed to get down into the low 30's and well you know that means ice. YUK!! I hate driving in that crap. Well, here is hoping it stays north of us!! OH PLEASE!!

I'll stop by later gator. I LUB YA LOTS AND THANK YOU SOOOO MUCH FOR STAYING IN THE CHALLENGE!!
