Weight: 215lbs
Height: 5'5in

Strength: Stamina, Lower body strength
Weakness: Upper body, core strength

So this is the beginning of my Food/Exercise Log, and I've had some great success in my past for getting on track for weight loss (a total of 45lbs once) and kicking my diet coke habit and even curbing my insomnia, but as most stories go, I "fell off the wagon" and have struggled since.

Thankfully I'm sure this time around I will be able to stick with it and get the results I have wanted since I was 14years old. I think it's about time I was able to look into a mirror and see who I am and not the girl buried beneath layers of self-indulgence.

1. Egg, English Muffin, butter, cheese slice, Ketchup
2. Sm. salad, 1/3 Tomato, Ranch dressing, 1 cup Strawberries
3. Pita bread, Lettuce, Tomato, Cuccumbers, Onions, Mushroom, Bacon, Ztatziki sauce, cheddar
4. Tortilla w/ dip

Water Intake:
2 cups

Exercise:
- 45min of moderate hiking
- Wii fit session 00:41min

I noticed on your intro post that we are about the same age (I'm about to turn 21).
Let's both try to get our act together now, while we're still young, shall we? :)

Hey guys, thank you for your replies and your support! I hope we can help motivate each other. ;D

Today I got up a lot later than I had hoped to, but I'm still trying to re-adjust my sleeping schedule as I am more nocturnal than most people and it's difficult for me to sleep at night and be out during the day though I definitely want to work on this because well, summer is coming and I love summer activities!!

Last night I did have a bit of a binge with some Smartfood Popcorn, but I was smart enough (ahaha pun) to put it away when I noticed what I was doing.

Food:

1. Wild Berry Ensure shake
2. two w/w bread, 1/2 tomato, romane lettuce, Onion, 4 small slices of cheddar, margarine, mustard, handful of grapes
3. Pita bread, lettuce, cuccumber, tomatoes, onions, hot peppers, mushrooms, bacon, chipotle & ztatziki sauce
4. 1 portion of smartfood (cus it's yummmmyyy!)

water intake:
6 cups

Exercise:

- 30min wii fit
- 1hr hike

Tomorrow I hope to do some Rollerblading in the morning with a light jaunt through one of the two different locations for hiking. Also, a friend of mine has conspired with me to go on bi-weekly canoe trips with me and we are hoping to kick that off this wednesday. ;D
 
Wow, your exercise sounds like so much fun, hiking and rollerblading and such!!

It sounds like you are off to a good start. I would suggest one thing, that maybe you look at your protein and make sure you're getting enough of that. Didn't look like you had too much from your food log up there. :)

Yes, definitely! I will have to look into that as that is the one thing I definitely lack in my diet.

I definitely was busy yesterday so I wasn't able to post the log last night, so I'll do that right now and be sure to update today's, tonight. ;3

Yesterday was very very busy, Hung out with a few friends at the beach and was generally just busy and working on my tan and being happy. ;D

Food Log:

1. Protein shake//Sm. simple salad w/ tomato, green onion, a bit of parmeson cheese, light ranch dressing.
2. Pita Bread, lettuce, cuccumbers, tomato, onion, hot pepper, tatziki sauce, shredded cheddar, bacon
3. 1/3cup of almonds
4. 1 ft long BLT sub w/ lite mayo & chiptole sauce

Still working on that protein thing, but the almonds are good @ 11g per 1/3cup

Water intake:
5 cups

Exercise Log:

- 1 hr light hike
- Beach leisure: Swimming, frisbee, catch w/ football
- 30min wii fit

Today was sort of a mellow day, I didn't want to overdue anything and I definitely don't want to burn out my enthusiasm. ;P Although my canoe trip has been postponed to thursday I plan to do some blading tomorrow as well as yet another trip to the beach and some wii fit for good measure lol.

Food Log:
* I'm seriously trying my best with the protein thing...

1. Protein shake
2. 1 ft long BLT sub with lite mayo, chipotle sauce
3. 1 strangely shaped medium tomato, a handful of blue berries, 1 cup strawberry soy milk
4. 1 hog dog w/mustard, ketchup, & a bit of cheesewhiz with a sm. salad with green onion, tomato, parmesan cheese, and ranch dressing
5. 1 handful of almonds

water intake:
4 cups

Exercise:

- 45min wii fit
- beach leisure: Frisbee

**will edit if I manage to do some rollerblading tonight
 
Hi, wanted to wish you good luck in your weight loss program, you are
off to a good start. Have you counted the amount of your daily calorie
yet, or not? The fact that you are exercising regularly is awesome, keep it up!

I haven't really counted the calories thus far only because I remember from past experiences that I have a bit of obsession with numbers and if I start counting them, I'll end up restricting too much or preoccupying my mind with worry over what I eat which will make the exercise part suck.

So I mostly try my best to go by food groups. I get dairy, fruit, and protein in the morning and veggies, fruit, grain throughout the day and try my best to get some more protein in there. lol

but... for the sake of saying so, I've had 1,700CAL today.
 
Srynxie, that is a good approach, and I also don't think it's a good idea
to count every calorie that you consume, I was just wondering if you
have a ballpark figure, that's all.

In fact, once you more or less get eating to four average sized portions,
and using exercise on a regular basis, it might not even be important to use
the weight scale, imo, and just go by the mirror, and the sort of "pinch-test"

...that amount of "skin" is what is important, and not how much the scale
shows you lost...at least in my opinion.

...I mean, if you had the perfect body, would you really care how much
you weighed? I know for sure I wouldn't. But, for some folks checking that
scale is like a bad habit, and some check a few times per day even.

Anyway, good to see that you are using your past experiences as feedback,
so that this time you can succeed and reach the goal that you have set for yourself!
 
Ahh, again I forgot to log everything yesterday! Lol. I was so busy.

2. 2 w/w buns with assorted sandwhich meat, 1.5 cheese slices, carrots, jalepeno, ketchup, mustard
3. 2 granola bars
4. 1 w/w bun with tomato and cheese, 1/3 cup blueberries

water intake:
7cups

Exercise Log:

- 1.5hrs of walking with a weighted backpack
- 30min wii fit

I seem to be running on a pattern here to post my log for the previous day instead of doing it the night of, mostly because I'm usually busy until the very end or I completely forget. LOL.

Yesterday I binged a bit, but I was able to stop myself before it got too bad, so I wont let it dampen my spirit just remind myself not to do that again. I didn't do a ton of exercise yesterday but I had actually ment to do none and make it a rest day but that ended up not being the case. So, today is my rest day which means I'll only be doing the minimum wii fit stuff and then chilling with a friend at his pool. NO HIKING today, hopefully. As that was my objective yesterday but then I got in a fight with my aunt and uncle right off the bat in the morning and went hiking to blow off steam. :smilielol5:

Food Log

1. Protein Shake, 1 english muffin w/ butter, 1 handful of blueberries
2. 1 weird shapped tomato, handful of almonds (1/3cup)
3. ft long BLT sub w/ Lettuce, Tomato, cuccumbers, onions, hot peppers, lite mayo, chipotle sauce, 1 sm. bag of baked chips
4. 1 english muffin w/ butter, 1 scoop bubblegum ice cream in a waffle cone (gah, whyyy?!)
5. two hot dogs w/ ketchup, mustard, cheesewhiz, 1 slice apple pie with 1 scoop ice cream (I don't even like ice cream, whyyyy?!)

water intake:
8cups

Exercise Log

- 35min wii fit
- 30min hike
- beach leisure: frisbee with a weighted frisbee, treading water
- 20min walk (in the blazing sun without a hat... I have black hair. x_X)

ok, so despite the binge the wii fit says this morning that I didn't gain or lose yesterday so I'll take that as a blessing and make sure to be a good girl today, rest, but be good. Then tomorrow is my last day of workout before the weigh-in on sunday. :D

Yesterday was suppose to be my rest day, which it did alright as I had to re-work my plans due to some irritating things coming up.

On the brightside, I was given a pretty new bike from my great aunt so I could go cycling in the early mornings like I used to. :)

Food Log:

1. Protein shake, 1/3cup almonds, 1/3 blueberries
2. Grilled chicken salad w/ ranch dressing
3. two hotdogs in normal buns w/ mustard, ketchup, cheesewhiz
4. two granola bars (split over a few hours during the day)

Water intake:
8cups

Exercise Log:
-35 min wii fit

Ahhh! I don't like this...
I know that in the past I tend to get obsessed with things, meaning I focus on it and let it become the thought in the forefront of my brain. Which means that exercise is not hard for me to do because I like it, and I can visualize what I want out of it.

what I don't like about this whole process is the calorie counting, because again, it becomes what I think about...while I exercise... because I'm a freak when it comes to numbers. LOL.

Thankfully the wii fit helps me to keep myself in reality by letting me know that a the awful granola bar, or french fries, I had didn't ruin everything. Still, it's a bit difficult to stop myself from agonizing over it.

ALSO, I was thinking of maybe starting up a weightloss channel on youtube ( I have one for silly skits and stuff my friends and I do) and I'm thinking it may be beneficial to post up my progress that way as well, with my weigh-ins. What do you think?

Anyway...

Food Log:

1. protein shake, 1/3cup Almonds, 1/3 cup Blueberries
2. Tomato soup, 1 w/w bun with margarine, cheese slice, ketchup, mustard, some crackers in the soup (cus I decided to carb it up ;P)
3. small amount of french fries (my aunt literally MADE me help her finish hers at the sidewalk sale *blameblameblame*
4. ft long BLT sub with lettuce, tomato, cuccumbers, onions, hot peppers, cheese, lite mayo, chiptole sauce

For some reason this makes me feel really really bad, having that sub so late in the evening, but I know I shouldn't feel too badly because I did do a decent amount of physical activity.

Water Intake:
8cups


Exercise:

- 30min wii fit (yoga/strength)
- 20min bike ride
- 1 hr of leisurely walking
- 30min of wii fit (balance games/aerobics)

Tomorrow is my first weigh-in... :cool:
 
1st Weigh-in (05/30/2010)​

Starting weight: 98.5kg
Today's weight: 97.6kg

So technically I've lost almost 2lbs. in 1 week.
I can't say I'm too proud of that number, however I know where I slipped up throughout the week and I will make some improvements this coming on.

Goal for 06/05/2010?
- 2.2kg
 
2 pounds in a week is actually really great!!
Especially considering that, if you're exercising properly and stuff, most of it is coming from fat and not from muscle.
If you go much higher than that, more than like 1% of your bodyweight a week (I think?), it's much more likely that you are losing muscle mass along with fat. Or it could be just water weight or something.
So don't let a whole kg loss get you down. That's really pretty fabulous, I think. :)
