Squeeze My Lemons

Omg! Your work sounds like an excellent place to be employed. Spa treatments sound so fun to me, lol. I've never even gotten a massage though... I'm probably going to try getting one soon. I'm scared once I get one I will be addicted, lol:) Enjoy tho, and the dinner theater sounds like a blast too.

Glad steak salad counts because I am thinking of having it again;)

Wow! I'm surprised they haven't shipped you to Mexico with your blase attitude re hockey! Is your man an Oiler fan? Maybe the Flames?

Congrats on the 140s!!!!!!!!! No wonder you're grinning like a fool!

I'm thoroughly jealous of your company paid spa outing. Manicures are awesome. To me the best part is at the end when you get the hand massage. Some day I'll tell ya about my interesting day at the Korean day spa--complete with boob massage....

Aaaarg. My scale battery went dead this morning, so I'll weigh in tomorrow. I stepped onto my mom's scale which is normal about a pound off. I am not happy with the number. It read 151, but I'm going to ignore it. I think I am retaining water after eating way too much sodium yesterday. I have been really good this week, so I should be lower not higher. I am so bloody annoyed...with the number and the dead scale.

My calves are killing me today. I have started irish dancing again. Now that is a workout! I can jump a lot higher since I've been running (and since I'm smaller Haha!). Spending an hour jumping on your toes kills the calves. I was, maybe still am, planning to run tonight, but now I'm a little doubtful. I might need a bit of recoup tonight. We'll see.

Hope everyone is having a great week. I've been so busy this last week, so I haven't made it in here. I'll try to stop in on your diaries, soon!

Have a great weekend. Oh and thanks for the thumbs up! Hopefully I hang onto the 140's!

Yikes! If Irish dancing works out your calves like that, I'll be staying away from that! Mine are already naturally extremely muscular--do not need them any biggger. It's sad enough as it is not being able to fit into knee high hooker boots. :cuss: whine whine whine. :nopity:

hahah sore calves i understand! one day i thought id try skipping for exercise. Man it was hard work, but dang i couldnt walk for a week!

Are you taking lessons with the Irish Dancing? My thighs and hamstrings are so sore, not to mention my buns. I had a lower leg workout at the Y with the "Fit for Life" class.

Don't pay any attention to the scale, it's not an accurate tool. I hate mine, last night it showed a great number, for about 2 seconds, then it went back to normal. :smash:

YEY LEMON!!

Congrats on the 140's honey!! You and I are here together!! This is SO EXCITING!! I'm so proud of you.

Pugh, don't worry about the number on the scale. It'll fluctuate between the 150's and 40's for a while, at least until it decides it wants to behave. This is what mine does. I can't stand it.

Much love to you, sweetie!! I hope your Sunday finds you well!

Thanks, everyone!

My calves are finally starting to feel normal. Its monday, so they should be good just in time for dancing on wednesday. LOL!

I ran yesterday and I think I'll run tonight. I increased another 0.5mi/hr last thursday. I feel like I'm going to die when I do it, but I'm going to stay with it. I'm now at 5.5. I was trying to get up to 6.0, but I think I'm going to stick at 5.5 for a while. I have increased my speed an entire mile/hr in the last two weeks, so I need to let my body adjust. If I go any faster I'll probably have a heart attack. LOL! I've gotta let my heart catch up.

I upped my calories big time this weekend to see if I can get my metabolism a kick in the arse. Now I have to be a good girl, so that I don't cause more bad than good. I always get a bit nervous about doing this, but it have definitely helped in the past. Go, Thursday, go!!!

Kimmy: Yup big calves are going to be a problem for my hooking career! I have a hard time buying boots, too, because my calves are bigger. I finally found a good pair that lace up in the front (and have a zipper side)!

Liz: No kidding...skipping kills and so does jumping on a trampoline. I remember been a kid and spending hours on it. I tried it with my nephews a couple years ago and thought I'd die. I'm thinking that this might be a good exercise to add on this summer (if my legs don't get enough work already. LOL)...

Sweatpea: I take lessons for my fiance's sister. It is so much fun, but its hard work. I love it. Oh and...down with scales!

Rae:
Glad to see you're back, Love. Happy 140's to you too! Still can't believe that I'm seeing a big magical "4" on my scale!

Oh, if you haven't noticed, I'm being really defiant and not updating my ticker to thursday's higher weight. That number is a big shot of BS and I'm thumbing my nose at it. So there!

LOL@your hooking career. :smilielol5:

Congrats on the improved running. Hope your refeed goes well. I've been eating way too much lately, so I'm kinda doing the opposite. :D

lol lemon, i have a similar thing with my ticker. I dont go backwards, if i regain weight at all i just dont move it back, i leave it and work my way back down.
There has only been one incidence of decent weight gain of 4 lb which stayed for a while, but i suspect that the original low was a fluke anyway, and ive since got past all that anyway.

Thanks gals...

Guess what... I ran 5k last night!!!!

Including the walking, I totaled 3.65miles. I had to break it into two intervals with a 3min walk in between...so it isn't the "official" 5K goal I'm aiming at, but its damn near. Go me!

Uhhh...no. Not yet. I'm aiming to do it once a week. And try to increase my speed during the rest of the week. I just realized that I burned over a 1000 calories in just running alone this week. I'm pretty pleased with myself. I've upped my calories a bit to offset this. We'll see how it goes.

My damn scale sucks. I am only down to 149.6 this week. That's a pound down from the weird 0.8lb gain last week. I don't know what the heck's going on. I've only lost 0.2lb in the last two weeks. I'm trying not to be annoyed. I'm working my ass off and not getting rewarded. I'll have to see what next week has in store and then decide if I need to do something more drastic to get things going again. What exactly that is remains to be seen.

Good news...I just found out that I got an award at school. Its the Graduate Faculty Book Award (for commitment to fellow students and ethics in the studio environment). Therefore, I will be receiving a major book or series of books. It should be good for a couple hundred bucks. No idea what books I'll be getting (it'll be something in my profession). Cold hard cash would have been nice, but its a big honor and not to mention that I LOVE books!

This weekend in the Victoria Day long weekend for us Canucks. I am heading out to a friend's cabin at a lake tonight. My fiance and I go out every year on the May long weekend. It'll be fun, a lot of cards, a lot of beer (and JD) and a lot of food. I'm not sure if this is a good thing or a bad thing. How much should I let loose and how much should I hold back. With my sucky scale problems, its a toss up. Eat too much = weight gain or metabolism boost. Hard to say what will happen. I'll probably eat and drink my face off and then use the "metabolism boosting excuse". LOL.

I had a meltdown after work the other day. One of those I can't seem to do anything right ones. I felt so inept. It wasn't so much that I did something really wrong, it was more that I just feel so inexperienced at what I am doing. I am a perfectionist and a worrier, so you can imagine how neurotic I can be. All in all, I am enjoying work and I think that I am doing fine. I'm just wanting to close the experience gap a lot quicker than possible. My school knowledge and my work experience are currently in different realms. It'll take a while before they come together.

Last weekend I went to my 3yr old niece's first ballet recital. Too damn cute, it was ridiculous. I had Irish dancing last Wednesday. My calves are a bit sore but nothing like last week. I'm glad to see my body is getting used to it again. It is so much fun, but it almost kills me. Cardio-wise it is as harder than running, but its in shorter bursts (under 10mins at a stretch). I might be performing "out" in June if I can get back up to snuff. Did I mention that I did 2 of dances that I haven't done for 2 years perfect on the first go! I was pretty happy. Its funny how muscles have memories. My head sure wasn't remembering it all. To stuffed full of other stuff. LOL!

So this is an exceptionally long post for me. I better get packing because I will be leaving soon.

Have a great weekend, everyone...long or short....any weekend is good.

Glad to have you stop by Stacy!

I bet that the scale might not be moving, but that your body is changing and getting more toned!

And Congrats on the award! :hurray::hurray:
