Squats (rep/set scheme)

Hi everyone!

What do you think is the best rep/set scheme for doing squats (and also DLs)? The goal is to bulk some mass.

I do 1 set of 20 reps:
10 reps hard to get (close to failure), and then more 10 paused reps (taking two or three breaths between the reps). All this holding the bar. This is really hard :) I've read in more than one place that this is a good way to stimulate growth. Do you agree? Do you think it is best to do another kind of rep/set scheme?

I know that what is best for one maybe it's not the best for other person... just want to know the community opinion about this kind of rep/set schemes :)

Thanks!

20 reps squats are incredible. did them years ago.

the key is variety. use different set/rep schemes to shake things up and not get bored. 3X8, 5X5, etc

Hello Ponto,

Yes! I would be happy to see your current workout. However, not in here. Many people have their doubt about HIT in this forum (and I'll probably get responses to this remark as well).

Therefore, If you care to discuss the philosophy of HIT or have any questions, then I suggest you sent it to me by e-mail (gilburgos@highintensitytraining.net) so I can review them.

And this goes for anyone else who would like to know more about High Intensity Training!
