This is a good alternative to squats. I tried these, and my legs were pumped after only 1 set. just use dumbbells, squat and jump. Probably a good exercise for explosive power.
yea, i have been doing these along with other explosive movements to try to increase my vertical, i use a barbell though. also you should 50 quarter squats with about your max full sqaut, first 10 go to your toes, second 10 stay on your heels and alternate, this one is a killer and walking is not fun for a few minutes after.
I personally find squat jumps easier on my knees then lunges though i have no technical reason as to why. Regardless those jumps really kick my ass...no pun intended.
i'm looking to add these in sometime over the summer. as evo said, only once a week. hitting the upper and lower body twice a week but with max weights once then explosive training next
