Sprite's Progress Thread

Hey all.

Today has not been too good. So far I've eaten; pasta, a banana, a packet of snack-a-jacks, a ham sandwich (2 slices of white and 4 slices of waferthin ham), a couple of crackers with Philadeplia-light, and... chips. Only a few of the crispy ones from round the edges, but I'm still very annoyed with myself lol... Except for the banana (breakfast) and the pasta (lunch) the rest has been picking for the sake of it really, and I haven't pigged out but it's enough to feel a bit guilty about.

Anyway... I am going to the gym for an hour or so later so hopefully if I work hard I wont feel so ashamed. :D

Then I have tomorrow and Saturday before weigh-in, so I will make them really good days I think.

Hope everybody else is getting on well... I'm looking forward to getting stuck in to the November Challenge. :)

Hey, its ok! Don't get too down on yourself. Just try to do better the rest of the day, thats all you can do. You'll be fine!

Hey Checkin in, sorry havent been doing hte comp thing much this week...dont beat yourself up, you could have eaten worse and more...

Listen to Korrie!! You realize what you are doing and you're going to the gym later. You're doing great, just don't get down on yourself, we all have our days :)

Thanks... lets hope you're right!

Well this should give u a giggle. ;) This evening after a fairly good day food wise (bowl of soup with a couple of crackers, two v small jacket potatoes with salad and a bit of diet salad cream) I headed off for the gym.

The idea WAS to have an hour or so in the gym then head down to the pool... however I got carried away in the gym and stayed for longer than an hour. I did manage to burn about 575 calories (so that was good) before having somewhat of a falling out with the treadmill. It was my own fault, I'd been on it about 20 mins and was going at quite a pace (jogging) and wasnt concentrating properly any more- so over I went. Slipped right over and of course got rolled off. Now luckily for me it was very quiet in there at this time- just me and one other man around, who came running over to check I was ok. "Oh yes, I'm fine thanks!" I say, stand up, and promptly attempt to stand back on it, without thinking. Naturally as it was still rolling along pretty fast I came flying back off. At this point the bloke standing next to me must think I'm either drunk or some sort of nut. I just burst out laughing before standing up and getting back on, this time remembering to stop it first.

I think I managed about another 5 mins on there before my shame got the better of me and I legged it :D but I had caught the side of my hand and arm on the rolling bit as I came off so that was quite sore -and I thought better of the swim.

Sooo... I arrived home with oil all over my trousers, a friction-burn on my arm and blisters n cuts on the side of my hand.

But I burnt a good few calories. :D

spritey.
oh man i laughed my ass off when i read that:p ..............sorry about your hurts:( , but the story was reeeeeally funny..........I have done some dumb ass stuff like that too:rolleyes: !!!! good for you cuz you still got back on, that is what counts!!! By the way was the guy who helped you a cutie??? :D :D later STAR

 OH NO... OMG Hun that’s so funny, I do hope your ok though you poor thing. Good on you for spending extra time in the gym (shows your enjoying it and getting fitter), but im with you mate I would have wondered off home as well. Don’t let it bother you though and get your self back there (maybe on the bike) or something until your injuries heal up lol. Im very proud of you, your doing terrific … thanks for the giggle. :D :D :D

Lol it hasnt stopped me, I'll still be back there asap. (And on the treadmill!) It would have been a lot more embarassing if the place was packed, as it was I just found it funny. The guy was quite muscly, but older. To be honest I wasnt taking too much notice of his looks just trying to get back on my feet. :D

I dont have a chance to get down there today, but will either go tomorrow or if not definately monday before my aqua-fit class.

Weigh-in tomorrow...!! I've worked so hard this week that it's actually made me even more nervous to get on the scales in case they still say no change. :(

We shall see.

xx

3lbs down! :D

Got a big smile on my face now! Gonna keep hard at it this week, the excercise seems to be paying off! :)

Morning all. :D

Well yesterday I fell off the diet wagon almost as spectacularly as I fell off the treadmill, giving in and eating roast potatoes. Great. I blame my colleagues as they plated up a dinner and put it infront of me... it would have been rude to leave it. :D Seriously though, going to work hard today to make up for that I think.

Still buzzing from the 3lb loss this week. The diet was the same so I'm convinced it was thanks to all the excercise. Definately going to keep it up in the hopes of losing again this week.

I have aqua-fit tonight and am going for a swim before-hand, but as I have the day off work I thought I'd make the most and get some extra excercise in, so I'm going to have a go at my excercise DVD in a min (always interesting. :p )

Hi Sprite :)
Thanks for being a part of the Newbie team! Your a Doll :p
Sound like you are doing well. You can’t be perfect all the time. Falling off the wagon and then getting back on only makes us wiser and stronger!
You’re Awsome! GOOOOO SPRITE!!! :D

Hi Sprite, Have a Happy Halloween!!

3lbs down, that's great :D Weigh in for the newbie team is Friday again, we're all gonna do great!

Go newbs!!! :D

Thanks. Halloween isnt really celebrated here but I did carve a pumpkin. :D

Well... it's confession time. I haven't had a brilliant week. Following my roast potatoes at the weekend (lol) I have proceeded to eat potato wedges. We have a staff night out on friday night where we are all being treated 2 an "all u can eat" chinese-style buffet (oh dear  ) and on saturday I'm going for a big family celebration dinner out, where I will also probably eat foods that aren't diet-friendly on both those evenings.

So I'm not expecting any miracles this week. But I don't want to gain a lb! If I can just keep from putting any on I'll be happy.

So I'm heading off the to gym now. :D Excercise has been a bit thin on the ground for my liking so I feel I need to do something to make sure I don't start slipping back UP the scales!!

Wish me luck. ;)

Hullo once more.

Just got back from the gym -450 calories burnt today. I feel much more pleased with myself now. :D

Sometimes it doesn't matter if the food isn't diet friendly. Just make sure you get small amounts. If its a buffet, get a smaller plate, so you won't be tempted to get a big plate and fill it up. If they have salad load it up with a lot of salad. Ask for the nutrition chart and get things that are good for you. There are always ways around things things.

Anyway, good luck!! and have a good day. :)

Ooh- edit: Congrats on the calories burned. :D:D:D

keep up the good work and the excercise will help lots!!!!!!!!!!

Thanks guys.

Today wasnt such a bad day. I find a bit of hard excercise gives me back my drive/motivation when I start to wane... I was very tempted to stay in tonight now that the cold weather is here (and would probably have sat and eaten when I didnt need to) but instead I got down to the gym and ate sensibly when I got back.

I am doing better with the portions... tonight a dinner was dished up for me and I took one look at it and scraped a lot of it off -the portions were WAY bigger than needed! (My whole family are guilty of this.) The problem is if it's on the plate I try to eat it out of habit, so like you say changeforlife it needs to be smaller plates to begin with, or at least less on it. :)

I can relax now and know that the day went ok... although I do plan to get some work in in the morning with my DVD.

Thanks for the support by the way!

Hey all. Hope everybody's having a good weekend. Mine certainly looks set to be good... just maybe not diet-wise! :D

I must tell you about my night last night. I knew it was going to be bad for the diet.

Last night I went out for a work-do... we were all treated to an all-you-can-eat Chinese Buffet (uh-oh! I LOVE chinese!) and a lot of drinks. Now I've only been at this job about 6 weeks, and I get on well with everybody but I am still trying to keep my nose clean and make a good impression, so I promised myself I would not slip up and say anything I shouldn't or that makes me look bad in any way. (Or do anything stupid in general!)

Well anyway I went to a colleagues house straight from work to get ready, where we both hit the bottle and I had an ENORMOUS glass of white wine. We then met up with everybody and spent almost 2 and a half hours in a bar before even hitting the restaurant, during which the generous boss-man force fed me lord knows how many glasses of champagne. I had easily 8 or 9. By the time we staggered into the Chinese I was really quite away with the fairies, and, being absoloutely starving after waiting all day for this meal, I began to shovel noodles into my mouth like there was no tomorrow. Very lady-like I'm sure. BUT, with my newfound smaller appetite I only managed a plate and a half (they were small plates too) and was quite good, only eating noodles, savoury rice, and a little bit of sweet and sour. (And no pudding! :D) I also spent the last 10 minutes of this meal with my head on the table in a very drunk way because I felt tired. After the meal came two more bars, and as usual the doormen asked me for ID to prove I was over 18... the poor man then got an earful about how I always get asked for ID and I'm sick of it... and I proceeded inside and continued to drink archers and coke in both bars.

My boss actually put me in a taxi home and paid for it so I got home fine... if a bit tipsy and tired.

But so much for keeping my composure and sticking to low-calorie drinks eh!
