Sprained SHOULDER... HELP

so i was doing military press WITHOUT a spotter... yes i kno im dumb..

i was putting up 65 dumbells... and my left shoulder went back im not sure how to explain it... basically my left shoulder rotated back quit far back...

its been 1 month and 1/2... its feeeling alot better but there is still a bit of pain... i lost 10lbs i feel like crap and i wwanna get back to the gym...

should i wait til it FULLY heals? it could take another month... OR should i get back to the gym and start working it out.

if i lay flat on the ground and act if i was doing a military press myleft shoulder cannot be flat with ground however my right arm can.

any suggestions?

go see a doctor. its possible you damaged it badly enough to require surgery, or a brace/sling.

take this stuff seriously...you only get one body to last you a lifetime.

i was thinking bout going to the doctor.. but i talked to a physical therapist and 2 physical trainers.. they all said stay off of it and let it heal but that was like a month ago.. its feeling alot better its not 100% yet. i should still see a doctor huh?

A sprain is tendon damage. The deltoid is a multipennate muscle, which means it has multiple insertions and origins, making it a pretty complex structure. Don't self medicate, don't assume, and get it looked at.

physical therapists don't diagnose injuries, they treat them, after a doctor prescribes treatment.

doctors also have neat stuff like x-rays :)

Glad you got an appt. setup. I hope its nothing too serious.

How about if your shoulder hurts..use the time to work your lower body. My friend hurt his back doing a 170lbs deadlift, and he stopped going. But i made him go and work muscles without the use of his back. Basically..if you can walk..you can take a trip to the gym. It'll not only get your legs into great shape..but you could put those pounds back on.

Destroyed my left shoulder the same way, and with the same exact weight. It sounded like someone was popping bubble wrap behind my left ear. I get chills typing this. I finally had to have surgery, but I could hear the damage when it happened. I'd definitely go to an orthapedic and see what he has to say. I put it off forever, but I'm glad I had it done.
