I recently sprained my ankle (April 18th). From the amount of swelling I had and the fact that I was unable to stand on it for the first two days, I'd guess I had a grade II sprain.
I went to the doctor, got xrays, thankfully no fracture. They basically just gave me an air brace and some stretches to do. I been doing RICE and walking on crutches since.
The question that I didn't ask at the doctor is when can I start walking on it. Right now I can walk on it with a limp, but I don't experience really any pain although the ankle feels tender. Should I stay off it until it feels normal or is it ok to walk on it? (maybe with partial support from the crutches?)
I'm just a little unclear about the balance between resting the ankle and rehabilitating the ankle. Not to mention the crutches are really inconvient for a college student.
