speaking of pecks...

i know i asked this before, but what is the diff between wide grip and close grip. but what i really want to know is about incline and decline whats the deal?

Incline bench press will work upper chest where as decline bench press will work your middle to lower chest.

I think you should do flat press first to get like a starting bar as to where your at. Then from there usually decline is easier then incline. Flat will hit both upper and lower but not as much as if you were to use decline/incline. I just use flat right now Its hard for me to do incline or decline without a spotter.

Yea, whatever way you prefer. I am not good at either incline or decline so I use my energy on flat and then on decline last incline/

It also depends on how much of an incline and how much of a decline. But it may be awkward just to start doing decline because the feel is weird, if you've never done it before. Personally I can bench more on decline than flat, and incline, obviously. If you are doing incline, I think 30 degrees is the best, once you go up to 45 and higher it starts working your shoulders as well.

decline is physically supposed to be easier I think. It never worked well for me, I couldn't feel anything and the position was awkward for me. I might try it again but I'd rather try incline first again.

when doing declined i fnid it best to avoid the benches specifically made for it..it's just akward and hard to find a good position for maximum rep length...I like using the adjustable benches and just using DB's with a spot...

I think once you get your form and technique down, for decline, it comes along a lot better. Today I did 245 on decline and on flat bench I do about 205.
