SoSel's Diary

I think you care enough for yourself that you will think about what was motivating you previously and let it resurface.

In the meantime, the chocolate has gone and all you have to do is eat well the next time you eat.

Tension in your house has probably dragged a lot of energy away from you but you can do this thing even when you have no energy, because you only have to do a little bit at a time. It need not always be full bore.

Maybe you have enough time to just go for a short, quiet walk and refresh your spirit a little.

Today isn't exactly the best day. It's my brother-in-law's birthday. He's been dead since November 30 '05. :( He'd be 29 today.

BF- total berry cereal, milk, splenda, coffee
L- south beach wrap kit (oriental chicken)
S- pretzels, cheetos
D- whole wheat noodles, spag sauce, swiss and mozz cheese, hamb meat (fake lasagna- lol!)
DS- choco chip cookiess made with Splenda

No exercise. I really wanted to walk, but my arthritis didn't let up until early afternoon. I'm lucky that it did! It wasn't a twinge today either. It was that all-out did-someone-beat-my-knee-caps-with-a-baseball-bat? pain. Truly sucks.

So, my motivation arrived in a jaw-dropping sorta way... During my "time" I weighed a steady 196. I've been weighing a steady 193. Now I'm at 192! I mean, yeah, AGAIN, b/c I have been down to 189, but it's alright. I'm ok with all this. lol! I was shocked. I haven't been doing the best job with myself. Weight is sooo weird!

Food Today
BF- Van's organic blueberry waffles, sf syrup, coffee, milk, splenda
L- chinese buffet (no MSG) and I did eat fruit!
S- pretzel sticks
D- spaghetti w/turkey sausage, garlic toast- 1 slice

Oooo! Good news on the weight loss and the motivation!!

My knees aren't that great either. Do you have osteoarthritis or rheumatoid arthritis?

Just went on a 37 minute walk with my son. I was aiming for atleast 30 and about 45 minutes, so I'm happy. I walked until it started hurting. Sometimes it seems like my whole lower body is shot. My hips hurt, my knees hurt, the other day I fell and landed on my butt, so that hurts, and I have really high arches, so I'm prone to pulling them. Ouch.

Yeah, but I feel pretty good now that I'm home. And the adrenaline/endorphin rush thingy was great b/c I haven't been feeling it lately. My hubby has decided to get more serious about weight loss and exercise. I hope he means it this time. He's kinda jealous of my success but I think he's coming around a little. I pointed out that he has way less to lose than me and stroked his ego a little, so he could feel "superior" or whatever. I hafta do that with him. So now I may not be doing this alone! Which would be great since I have no accountability partner. :(

I ate all the wrong foods this weekend b/c we pretty much partied all weekend. It was my close friend's birthday so we wanted to have a good time for about 2 or 3 days... lol!

Back on track again.

Food Log 4-23

I wrote down what I ate on the 24th & 25th on some paper and it has since gone AWOL. (You can probably guess that I'm an Army wife!) Truth is, I probably trashed it. I do so love to clean. <---sarcasm

So the 26th can pretty much be accounted for.

Let me say, in my defense, that I did go to Curves yesterday!

BF- fiber one bar, rice cake
L- 6 inch sub from Subway (not sure what it was, my hubby picked it out, but he loaded on the veggies) & Cool Ranch Doritoes
S- 2 muffins- Jiffy mix, blueberry and a lot of "taste-testing" the veggie soup I made for the sitter and kids
D- Hubby and I went to Olive Garden! I had the stuffed chicken something... oh goodness. It's was on the commercials a while back. I had a diet coke too. No dessert. :) Throw in 2 breadsticks and the salad. Oh my gosh it was a lot of food!

I wanted a "romantic dinner" last night, but it was also a bit of a celebration for me. My Curves has these clubs, the yard, 1 foot, and 2 foot club. After my weigh-in, I was in the foot club! I have lost 15.5 inches since last year! I can not believe it, but I can. These subtle changes. The things that I feel aren't good enough- they are! I felt so sexy last night. I didn't care what my hubby saw or did not see in me. His opinion was not needed. lol! I dressed nice, cut down on the make-up, and ignored anything negative. For me! :D

Ha Ha HA - you go girl!!!I am woman hear me roar!!!

Well, I ate and ate and ate yesterday. It was all so sinful. I feel to bad to post what all I ate because you who are really trying to eat right may get jealous. lol! So I'm gonna keep all the major details to myself.

I did, however, go on a pretty steep walk yesterday. Mostly uphill, the "hard route in my hood" is what I call it. There are much much much more pleasant walking paths. I found two of the steepest areas and tackled them both; business, not pleasure. :D I needed the work-out. At the end of my walk, I looked back and thought, one year ago I could not have done this and 6 months ago it would have taken me twice as long and three months ago I would have been hurtin' pretty bad. So I did good. Just something that I wanted to do for me.

Next order of business is a new pair of walking shoes. Mine have seen better days. I "pinched" this nerve on my walk and it became uncomfortable when my leg swole some. I guess I pinched it. I'm no doctor.

I am such a rambler.

Oh oh! On Tuesday I'm going to go see Hinder and Papa Roach! Had to brag a little. :D

Enjoy your weekends everyone!

How wonderful to do a physical look back, like that walk. It really lets you know that you are doing it, and that you will make it. :)

Well that deserves braggin rights !!! I love the Hinder cd lucky bum!!!

I was all excited b/c I wanted to go, but couldn't find anyone to go with me. (which is weird to the extreme) Then my sis-in-law calls me out of the blue, tickets in hand, lacking a "date." So there I go. Some karma has found me.

So yesterday was ok. Not much truly happened. I monitored what I ate, but couldn't eat optimally b/c we have seriously got to go grocery shopping. As you can imagine, today won't be much better for me. I know that I can pack up the kids and go to the grocery store, but I'd much rather get in the ring with Mike Tyson. Geez... It's horrible taking a 5 and 3 yr old to the store. Every time I take them I say I won't do it again. Heh. Like that's gonna happen.

I've got a sinus headache, 2 kids up and at 'em, and a serious craving for "bad foods." Ugh.

Oh My the real world sure sucks dont it - I hate takin my kids shoppin as well adn they are older than yours - well I have a 2 yr old and a 12 yr old but boy I hate it and as you say and do everytime - Im never doing that agian...LOL

Oh I so relate to the kids in the store!! When mine were that age we took them on holiday to another state and the 2 of them ran from one end of a giant shopping centre (that I was of course unfamiliar with), to the other. (Where was my husband!? He didn't even understand why I was upset about them doing it!)

One thing about getting more healthy - at least if it becomes really needed you can run after them!

Well done on continuing to monitor your foods despite the aggravations. :)

I got 4 hours of sleep last night. I worked my butt off yesterday pulling odd jobs with my husband and partying when I should have just gone to sleep. I feel like a zombie. I had to do all this house cleaning today b/c I'm pathetically behind due to work outside the house, but when I need to smile, I remember this...

IwasthisclosetotheleadsingerfromPapaRoach!!!!

No lie! It's a weird story about how we lost our seats and all, but I ended up dancing in the aisles and totally rockin' out. Then the singer leaves the stage, comes up the aisle and passes me! ::swoons:: I have no photographic proof. I would LOVE for some. We breathed the same air!

lol! I'm no groupie or anything. I might be now though. The thrill of sharing space with him was awesome. No, I don't know the singer's name. I suck at keeping track of these things. But who cares? Papa Roach totally rocked out and I had my (literal) 15 seconds of fame. Everyone was shocked how close he came to me. :D

Hinder was ok. I'm not a big Hinder fan, so I lost the thrill of that. I totally loathe the "Lips of an Angel" song too, which they sang, of course. And I gotta know. Is the lead singer of Hinder gay? He danced/dressed like such a queen. My sis-in-law and I were shocked by his appearance and actions. She's a huge Hinder fan so it hit her kinda heavy.

Um, so yesterday I had a McD's bacon/egg/cheese biscuit and hashbrown for breakfast. I had another meal at 3- a footlong chicken/bacon/ranch sub. At about 11 I had a giant pretzel (which I shared) and a beer (a lite beer). I drank PLENTY of water b/c we worked in the 90 degree heat loading/unloading pinestraw. Screw the gym. I need a career in manual labor. Whew!

Oh those thrills really add some zing don't they? The dancing and manual labour will have had a good effect on your body too. I wonder which one you prefer?.

It's interesting that you described your McDonalds. I started thinking again that I can work out what a "biscuit" is. Years ago I was told they were what we call a scone - reading your post I was thinking they're English muffins! Then I googled imaged...and they look like something half way between. I'll probably never work it out. (Our "biscuits" are cookies.) Well we nearly speak the same language. :)

I hope your week finishes well. :)
