Mmmm... salads. One of the things you should try with your salad experimentation is to look for a blend of seasonings you like on top, as something to sprinkle over the salad.
I love Celery salt and Dill, for example. Paprika, too. Garlic and onion powder also can really make a salad taste a lot less like a salad, and more like "real food". When it comes to foods that we have a hard time forcing ourselves to eat, it can be really helpful to add things we DO like to our food.
For example, consider some fruit juice, or (dare I say it) a honey-flavored salad dressing. A lot of salad dressings have sugar in them, so consider making your own (it's fun, easy, and cheap) with honey or fruit juice instead of sugar.
One of the ones I really like is basically making Italian with some ginger and sugar (or honey!) replacing part of the oil. Make sure any dry herbs like rosemary, dill, oregano, basil, etc, have a chance to soak in the liquid for a few minutes; you don't want them to be dry and papery on the salad or in your mouth.
Just try to have fun with whatever you make, and if you ever cook steaks, it makes a GREAT marinade or sauce for cooking.
