I'm gonna play mother hen and i'm also a know it all busy body :) .. it could be hurting because you're using muscles you haven't used in a while, but you really want to make sure that you are lifting weights correctly... if you're at a gym, maybe get some pointers from one of the staff... you don't want to really hurt yourself...

have fun though :)
 
1700 cals in a day is really good. You seem to have found the key to going out and enjoying yourself ..... planning and being aware of what you are eating ;) Keep it up :)
 
Well I did go out to eat last night and of course I ate too much. I have no idea how many cals I ate all I know is I went in with only 300 cals and came out too full, I had to go on a walk last night. The walk is a good thing the almost stuffing myself is not. I guess I should have only eaten half of the sandwich I got. :p
So today I've eaten a light muff with egg and cheese-200 cals and some watermelon 50 cals and I plan on eating a 200 cal chicken salad for lunch and some sort of fruit for snack 50 cals. 500 cals before dinner, Looks to be a good day hopefully I can not screw it up tonight :rolleyes:.
I need to go get the little one in bed and get on with my workout....still procrastinating....ok I'm goin :D

Hey Alicia!! Are you able to incorporate exercise into your day first thing. It isn't always possible, I know, but they do say that a person is more likely to stick to a morning exercise regime, and then its out of the way for the day ;)
 
:) Lookin good. Weights you really do need to know how to lift them properly o you dont strain or pull a muscle. Also.. don't do weight that is too heavy for you. Work up to it. Like I can do arm curls with 18 lb weights... but I worked up to that.. (and since I don't have that heavy weights at home I am only doing 11 lb ones (need to get bigger weights!) But working up in repetitions and weight is best.
 
Mrs B- the best time for me to workout is when my 2 yo takes a nap right after lunch. But since hes in bed and I have nothing to do except clean which I don't mind skipping :D I can easily do it then. Its just I'd rather get on the pc or watch tv or I dunno just bout anything except exercise :p.
Kat-Woot 18lbs damn am I weak oops I mean dang! I started out with 5lbs and 8 lbs dumbells. I can really only do bicep workouts with the 8s I'm still using 5s for everything else. I know I just need to push myself harder because obviously I can easily pick up and carry children half the day! :D

Ok so today I was feeling like eating everything in site. I hate my TOM drives me nuts how hungry I am. Maybe not hungry just wanting to eat. :rolleyes: I ate around 1600 cals today and I had cake so I guess its not so bad. I should have just left the cake out though, I know that but I still ate it. :( Fitday said 30 pct fat, 20 pct protein, and 50pct carbs I guess I can try to figure out how to make my fat lower and protein higher. Only 8pm I need to go to bed early tonight to keep myself from snacking. :p

I can't wait til this week is over. Then I won't even have an excuse, my husband says I'm the excuse queen! :D
Oh and my back wasn't hurting today now its my shoulders and neck...see...excuses excuses. But I did get in 40 min of cardio and 30 min of weights. So thats great I guess.
 
You are bound to get achy when you are first getting into exercise. After I did aerobics, I used to be really sore the next day, but now that I am cycling regularly I have got to the stage where I don't ache the next day .... although I do feel tired today ;)

And they say more repetition with lighter weights is good, and that you should only use weights with which you can do the exercises slowly and smoothly. That is how you work the muscles best.

I don't know, all this exercise!!!! I thought you were meant to be lazy ... ;)

I AM lazy, I only get in like 3 workouts a week and my days aren't all that busy I don't even work but 2 days a week!! :D I'm trying hard to do better though hopefully I can keep this up awhile and then up the amount I do. I know any exercise is better than none so I'm not going to make myself feel horrible. I just think I'm doing something wrong because I'm not losing weight, probably like a half pound a week its like super slow. Getting in the exercise seems to be easier this week then the eating part. I'm just constantly wanting to eat, my excuse is TOM. :D

Day isn't over yet I'll just come back later to let ya know how it went with the piggin out :p.

Back. Need to go to sleep but wanted to report my day. I ended up under 1700 cals so I guess it wasn't a bad day except for the exercise part :(. I was so exhausted and I had all the kiddies until dinner so after dinner and all that I just sat around being lazy....:rolleyes: Its too easy to be lazy even when my hubby goes to the gym 4 nights a week, yea dumb I know but he goes late and I'm tired. lol anyway tomorrow I will exercise for sure. :D

Oh well atleast my TOM excuse isn't ruining my whole "diet" thing totally. :p
Off to bed.
 
Well its the beginning of the weekend, not good, probably going out tonight :(. Just can't handle all this eating crap, everyone else around me is skinny and eating everything they want, its so annoying and depressing. I feel stupid telling everyone I can't eat certain things cause I'm fat and of course everyone always says your beautiful your fine the way you are blah blah blah blah. My husband is the worst, he makes me feel like I'm perfect now and yea thats great cause he loves me but it sucks cause I don't love me like this. Ugh anyway I haven't done anything today, so I guess I should go eat and get on with it. I weighed this morning and was only down .5 so crappy didn't even lose a pound. I've told myself losing slow will be fine but I'm driving myself insane. :p
Hope everyones weekend is easier than mine will be. :D
 
Alicia, I am so sorry to hear you are feeling down. I know its hard, but the slower the weight loss, the more likely it is to stay off. I have lost 2 stone, 3 times, and each time put it back on again... that is really soul destroying, so if you can avoid it, so much the better.

And working out 3 times a week is great. As you get more used to it you will be able to work out longer and more often, but it is hard at first. The only reason I can cycle 14 miles is because I have done a physical job for 6 years now, and I built up to it gradually. Don't be hard on yourself, it takes time.

Keep smiling, and remember, you TOTM will be gone soon, and I am sure it will take a big chunk of water weight with it ;)
 
Alicia, I can't remember, were you going away or have you just not been able to get on here in a while. Whatever the reason, I miss you, and I can't wait to hear about how you have been getting on. :confused:
