Slimming pills (that work)

Hi guys, jus writing to ask if anyone knows of any slimming pills out there that actually do work. Bout a year ago when i was kinda down i put on weight and purchased something called 'Hoodia tablets', which had no effect what-so-ever. The reason I am asking for good diet or slimming pills is because my fiance wants to loose a few pounds before we head back for christmas. She has been working out since she had our first child but there is not weight loss and her tunny is not 'shrinking or firming'!? Please advise as she is getting really down.

Also another piece of info needed for myself. I am well built and 'know' i have a six pack just waiting behind my layer of flab. Jus wanna know what is the best exercise to lose flas as opposed to firming it, and i have been eating sensibly for some time now too? Many thanks in advance.

eh dont give her the pills. Best thing u could try. is work it back. If its loose she will have to eat right , and Work out.

Good luck.

Diet pills (if they work), are such a short term fix, becasue you are not really fixing the problem that casued the weight gain in the first place. If you do lose on the pills..........what happens when, eventually you stop them...........the weight comes back..........and usually with a bit more to boot!

It is much better (and safer) to attack the source.....the right kind of activity with the right nutrition.

how long has it been since she gave birtha nd was it a normal delivery??? i have two boys and i'm in better shape than before i had them but it took hard work(weights), kick ass cardio, and a clean diet.

There are various pills out there right now... Many of them don't work, the ones that do will only work for a few months (if even that) until the body develops a tolerance. In general pills and loosing weight is a bad combination; the side effects range from gas, to heart problems. In the end, watch what you eat, work out right, and you'll loose weight... Diet pills will cause more harm than good, in my opinion.

Rundown of events!

Hi all been busy over the past few days. First off, thanks a lot to all the replies. As for the questions heres a run-down:

- My fiance is 20
- Had our son threw normal delivery
- Was in good shape before she fell pregnant
- Has been working on DVD's (Angela Griffiths [dunno bout spelling] Workout DVD mainly)

The biggest problem we are both having is that she minds Dylan (our son) while im at uni and work, then i'd mind him when she needs to go to work, so we really dnt get the time.

I recently read an article about the contreversial cardio workout in a fasted state which would be quite good for me to try as i have to get up early to feed dylan anyway.

As for myself I have jus suffered another blow, I had bought a jumper 2weeks ago and fitted well, and now after two weeks of eating steamed foods water etc it now doesnt fit as well!! This weight thing really depresses me, feel like taking a bacon slicer to my stomach sometimes lol. Miss having my old body b4 my ankle injury, but aim to get there.

Sorry for the long post but this is my final paragraph. I read on the internet about prescribed pills (i no u all must think im a pill pusher but jus looking at all options) Xenical & Reductil, any1 every been on them? Could some1 also post what the eat on a daily or weekly basis? I like looking at others diets and seeing where i am going wrong, my fiance isnt must of an experimental eater and wont try anything new, as oposed to me where i eat fish, all sorts of veg's etc. many thanks again! Dean

Oh if i dnt get to talk to you all before chrimbo: Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year! Hope you all have a good one. (one things for sure ill be out 'cardioing' when dinner is served, lol)

ok she is still young you didn't say how long its been since birth. i did tae bo and that dropped the pregnacy weight really fast. then i added weights to tone up. its a matter of clean diet and working it with determination. i dont like the idea of popping pills esp for something that isn't a medical prob but thats me. my kids are 3 and 5 and i've never ever been in better shape and i'm also 31 so all i can say is keep challenging yourself and don't give up. good luck. ps it takes a womans body time to recover from the whole pregnacy birth thing- it took a full 9 months to get that way it takes time to recover and get back into shape.so relax it'll happen..

I've tried both of them and do not recommend them. These pills should only be considered under medical supervision and when ALL OTHER options are exhausted. Xenical has very horrible side effects - it works by absorbing 30% of the fat in what you eat, and if you eat more than about 8grams of fat in a meal you get anal leakage, flatulence, uncontrolable bowel movements - I'm not making this up, it's very very rough. Reductil is an appetite suppressant and as soon as you go off them, the weight comes back on.

My suggestion is to try keeping an honest diary of all your food intake, including portions and buy a calorie counter book - don't just go off what the packet says - check your portion sizes - it's a real eye opener. The book should have a suggested calorie range to loose weight.
