slim fast diet?

who here has tried out the slim fast diet, does it work? it seems to me that its pushing the border into a low low amount of calories since it suggests that these 220 calorie shakes replace 2 full meals of the day, anyway if anyone has tried this before tell me if it worked for you, thanks...i have a new pack of 15 high protein cans of this stuff, its a lot better than the regular version, a little less calories, a lot less carbs, and it has only about 30-40 percent of those carbs comng from sugar as opposed to about 80-85 percent in the original

Slim fast diet is NOT a good way to lose weight. Think how little wholesome, nutritious food you would be eating? It's typically a very low calorie diet as well, which can be pretty damaging to your health. And only eating 3 times a day isn't very good for the metabolism.
To lose weight you need a diet rich a healthy foods. Lots of veggies, fruits, whole grains, lean proteins and some good fats. Eat at least 6 times a day. And exercise. Try some fun cardio vascular activites and do some weight training to strengthen those muscles.
And sorry if you already know some of this stuff.

i totally agree. i've tried slim fast once and it really didnt work. sure, you can lose weight from it, but not healthfully. And the weight you lose could be muscle :(

Another thing many people are not aware of is that very low calorie and rapid weight-loss diets may cause gallstone formation. People who go on "crash" diets and those who lose a lot of weight quickly may get gallstones.

It is recommended that you do not lose more than 3 lbs per week especially using the super low-calorie liquid fasting diets.

Those who belong to the "at risk" groups e.g. women aged 20 - 60 need to take this seriously.

nah i dont think thats the best way either you will most probably loose the weight then put it all back on when you start eating properly again .. not good!!! but i du drink the slim right shakes but only cause there yummmmy!! lol

CravingBound... you have several threads started on this forum. They are all about crash dieting and fad diets. Are you looking to go this route? I've answered with reasons why you should not in your other posts.

I guess he's still looking for the magic sollution to lose weight without having to do much for it. Too bad, it doesn't work that way. Not if you want the weight you lose to be fat and keep it off.

The answer is lifestyle change! All of these crash diet programs just lead to weight gain and are not a permenent solution.....education, support and accountability........that is what leads to lifestyle change.

Diet Pills and Weight loss

If you want to lose weight fast and does not have time to do exercise than you can take diet pills. Diet pills are the easiest and fast way to lose weight. The main beifit is that you don't stop eating things. You can read more articles on weight loss and diet pills at . You will get all information about diet pills and weight loss at this site.

Pills are a quick fix. Not a long term sollution.

When you have a bad headache, you take an asperine, advil, which hides the pain. But it does not offer a sollution to your problem. After a few hours, it has worn off and the headache will return. Pills simply hide.

Diet pills are like that. They aren't a sollution. They hide. Yes, you may have less appetite and even lose some weight: but the moment you get off those pills you're appetite will return back to normal. Which means that either you'll have to stay on them for life, or choose not to take them at all and set your mind on eating healthier and exersising regulary.

Too much fat and everything that comes along with it are symtoms/signs your body is giving you: your diet is bad, you lack exersise and as a result your body doesn't look nor feel the way it's supposed to.

For the last time: if you believe in fairy tales, that's fine. Fool yourself, move to disneyland where you'll find a lot of people that'll agree with you (like 5 year old kids.)

But if you're serious about improving your body and with it your health, you shouldn't come here hoping someone throws the magic all gain no pain sollution at you. It would be like having to prepare for a test and thinking that giving it one short glance will result in the knowledge to suddenly just appear in your head.

If you really want to reach a goal, you have to work for it. Simple as that. Like the nike slogan: "just do it!" But if it's not your priority, you might a well quit now. You can't be half assed about this. Either you do it all the way or you don't.

Motivate yourself, educate yourself and then just do it. And be consistant. It's that simple. I didn't say it's easy though. But then, a little effort won't hurt you ;)

I just read in your other thread you're just 14. I apologize for being harsh like that, but I thought you were older. I'd suggest you talk to your parents about it and seek help from a nutritionist. He or she has the knowledge and can show you the way to help you lose weight healthily. I made the mistake to try it on my own, lacking info and am still paying the price for that. So seek help and educate yourself.

may be harsh but its true.i feel truly sorry for anyone under 18 hoping to lose weight unless their parents motivate/support them. my aunt always says to her daughter "shes not fat" "shes just chubby" "bigboned" "its fine that shes overweight because some people love big girls" "it doesnt matter, shes smart and will make lots of money" >.< erm.. yea i hate that shes 5 10ish and 300lbs~ at age 15 if her mom supported her i bet she would be down to 200 by now.
Craving try exercising :p if your embarassed about exercising because of what other ppl might think... well noone would laugh at you while your trying your best.a video might help since you dont need much space/equipment to do them
