Sleep, too much?

Hello, i was wondering. I know generally it is expected that healthy individuals get atleast 8 hours of sleep. I always get atleast 8 hours of sleep.

But, some nights i get up to 10 hours. It feels like i lost half my day! But...if i don't sleep that much, it feels like i can never feel fully rested somedays.

Is this alright? I mean, it feels good to sleep for 10 hours, but...it feels bad, cause i'm practically wasting 3/8ths of my day. Ideas? Thoughts?

Any suggestions are great :-D

Well some poeple will need more sleep than others as you probably know..

So your saying you feel tired with around 8 hours sleep? Is your diet good? Do you get enough vitamins etc etc..

Iv noticed if i eat sh!t the day before, no matter what sleep i get on that night i will feel lifeless the next day! :)

Ya know...now that i think about it..its mostly the nights after i have my distance days (running). Normaly my running workouts exist of a distance day, a sprinting day, and a light day. I probably need alot more nutrients than i thought i did for those tough days. Sometimes I get dogged with a few miles of uphills.

For some people it's ok to have a sleep more than 8 hours. It can be 9 ,10 or 11 hours. Because it depends on what the life style you have . If yours is more stressful, physically active because the kind of work you have. The tendency u'll able to bring back ur energy by enough rest/sleep. So its more better if you have ur proper diet, eat right and do some exercises. :)

If you're young, like under 18, it's fairly common to sleep 10-12 hours a day. I wouldn't worry too much about it. It also depends on your lifestyle. If it is summer vacation, just sleep all day, party all night. Ah, I remember those days. I used to sleep from like 12 at night, to about 11 the following morning, then get up, ride my bike all day and watch all sorts of movies and that game Goldeneye and Mortal Kombat. lol. Those were the days. In college, I slept about 12 to about 8 or 9. It was quite fun. Even better days of hanging out the campus all day doing litterally nothing. lol. Now that I work, I usually hit the bed at 10:30 and wake up at 6:30. It sucks now. I don't get tired by lack of sleep, but rather lack of things to do.

also, a very large play into bad sleep is your carcadium rythem. For instance, if you're in bed very sparatically throughout the week, you will feel the results the next day. However, if you're asleep at 10 to 6 everyday, then you will normally wake up refreshed and also alarm-clockless. Personally, i can't do that when it comes to the weekend. i prefer being the night owl..i'm sure when i'm old it will be easy though haha.

Sleep is hard to get right. But once you do it is worth it
