Skrillex's Diary

So i originally intended not to make this and just use the site as a form of "support network" but I have had a roller coaster of a day today and just feel like going the whole nine yards even if i don't fully believe in that it can help, but like i said yesterday "i have to do this".

My dairy is not going to be largely based on what i eat and more so on my progress and achievements so i can keep track of it all. I hope in a couple of months if i have made it, that someone may use this as the tiniest bit of inspiration and if it does it will be worth the time that it took to write it.

This is my original post to get the first half of my story if you are interested. http://weight-loss.fitness.com/newcomers/47316-new-need-advice.html#post765889

General Info

What is your current height and weight? i am 6'2 and about 105 to 110 kilos

If you were at an ideal weight now, what would that weight be? 80-85 if i was healthy but around 100 if i could build muscles.

At what weight would you like to be at four months from now? the at least 90kg

Why do you want to lose weight? health, well being, longevity in life, personal satisfaction.

Why do you think that you now have a weight problem? i am over weight and unhealthy.

If you woke up tomorrow and your body was exactly the way you want it, what would be different? I would be healthy, have a nice even tan and sporting a chiseled six pack with think muscly arms.

In terms of exercise, what, if anything, are you currently doing? not currently but i am working on a plan that i am starting tomorrow.

Today 10th March 2011

So i woke up this morning around lunch time as usual, and dragged myself out of bed. Had a busy hour or two organizing a possible job. I came into my room and sat down and was about to start wasting time on the internet and i stopped and thought, what the hell am i doing? so instead started researching diets and the calorie calculator. I stopped after deciding on the heart foundations overall healthy well being diet (unsure if that is exact name).

First Achievement - I came back here and still feel the same way almost 24 hours later, which i normally wouldn't do / feel.

Second Achievement - I called my local pharmacist and organized to go down and talk to him. He was amazingly help full and to be honest easier and better to talk to than any psychiatrist that i had ever talked to, He offered to fully support and talk to me when ever i needed it and helped me create a concoction of ginseng, Valerian, siberian and a few other things to help control and regulate my emotions, nervous system and help to regulate my appetite. (it did helped with a few other things as well but can't remember off the top of my head)

Third Achievement - I organized about the diets that i was going to go on and found out about this one through a friend that i had no idea new about this stuff that is normally reserved for people going in for surgery (or so he says) that can strip away 5 to 10 kilos in two weeks but you cannot do strenuous exercise on or stay on for more than 14 days. (i will post more details when i get it tomorrow)

Fourth Achievement - spoke to my mum and close friends about my my situation described in my original post here that was linked above. Found i had more support than i realized and that because i am so broke at the moment my mum would help me out and support me with this decision until i was back on my own two feet. While this may not sound like an achievement, to me it was. I went in depth about my fears and its usually hard for me to open up about myself in that way.

That's it for today besides my calorie calculator results, i don't really know how to find out how many calories are in the different things i eat but these were my results;

Ex Fat Loss Fat Loss Maintain

Tuesday 1937 1937 2083

Friday 1937 1937 2344
Saturday 2130 2292 2865
Sunday 1937 2083 2604

I am going to aim to follow the extreme fat loss calories weekly chart and then update my information in it weekly and re adjust it accordingly.

My next Goal is to go on a minimum 40 minute walk every day for the next week starting tomorrow, well today when i wake up seeing as its almost 4 am ha ha, and to Start my first diet by Sunday at the latest.

Welcome to the forum!

I would skip the 14-day diet, it does not sound healthy and the weight you would be losing would be mostly water weight anyways. You only have 20 kg to lose, let it take some time. Try to adjust to a healthier life style and the weight should come right off by time and won't come right back on like it would if you do some kind of crash diet.

Good luck!

id have to agree with TikTak the 14 day diet doesnt seem like a very smart idea, but best of luck with your weightloss, i look forward to reading about your progress :)

I was a bit skeptical about it as well and had planned on posting it here and asking for everyone's opinion on it. I also was planning on talking to my doctor about it first as well.

It does sound like it is of that nature but i am not 100% sure, i will defiantly let you know.

Also thanks for the welcomes i appreciate it.

Talk to your doctor about that diet--Honestly, just cutting calories and exercising a few times a week will do you more good than any "diet" you can follow. So glad you've made your own diary--Are you going to log food?

Loved your accomplishment list--You're taking STEPS and that is so important. Your life wont change over night but it will change because you've realised what you need to do! Which is get healthy! :p

About calories in food--There are MANY tools on the internet that will tell you the calories in foods if it does not say in the packet. Alternatively, post an average days eating and me, and others here, will help you figure an estimate out :D

Keep positive, lovely x

Skrillex, I agree with the others the 14 day diet is not a good idea but with a bit of determination you will achieve your goal !!

When I first started eating healthy (first time around) just eating clean and exercising I lost 10lbs the first week and 5 the next for a total of 15lbs in 2 wks but it was done the healthy way. The numbers dropped to 2lbs (avg.) a week. I know was mostly water weight but it sure made me feel better!

So, deciding to eat clean and healthy, throw in some exercise and you may get the same results anyway!!

Hello Shrillex, and welcome to the forum.
Congratulations on all your fantastic achievements so far,it's wonderfully inspiring that you're taking this seriously, you're thinking realistically, and you're thinking healthy.I loved the way you listed them out,to.I read your other post about yourself and background, I'm sorry to hear about your bumpy past, but now you're turning things around. It's great you've got the support of your mum and close friends,it's just so important to get all the support you can give you all the help and encouragement you need. You certainly have it on here :D This place is brilliant for meeting lots of new people, who are also in the same situation as you so you never feel alone!

I agree with Sunflower, logging food is a great thing to do.It can be a bit tedious to begin with and calorie counting can seem a bit of a nightmare (although myfitnesspal.com is brilliant for tracking them all for you,it's very detailed-not sure if somebody has already mentioned that to you!) but it's just a routine that you'll find you quickly get into. Now you've calculated how many calories you should be having each day,you can then focus on lil meal plans.I personally like to have meals and snacks around the same time each day,to get a routine going. You may find that after a while this will help with your sleep pattern. It's amazing what a great nights sleep can do for your mood and energy the next day!

I'm a massive fan of walking,it's the best place to start.Any time of day or night, just take a stroll, you can take it up a notch by being a bit brisker, but try and enjoy it.I find it a great way to organise my thoughts and just generally get a good head clear!

All the very best of luck to you on your journey,we're all with you 100%.
I look forward to reading your future posts! :D

First of all, thank you to everyone who took the time to send me a message its brightened my night.

I know the diet doesn't sound great, (get it tomorrow the guy was sick so i couldn't pick it up) but im still going to look into it, i most likely wont use it but i still will research it before i throw it aside.

Today went great by the way (by my standards) im start my second day post now.

Today 11th March 2011

i woke up and was starving as usual. I had my concoction that the pharmacist made me and it taste's absolutely horrible, the texture of tar with the taste of battery acid so it must be fantastic for my health ha ha. I then had half of one hot cross bun (fruitless unfortunately as the fruit ones are my favorite) i then rushed out the door with a passion fruit popper (kids sized drink with little straw if you don't have them overseas) to get to my interview (2 hours btw it was crazy)

I met up with a friend to help his op shop for a costume party coming up and we decided to have lunch there, i got worried. I stood firm though and ordered a roast lamb with avocado lettuce and tomato bread roll. They put butter on it before i had noticed so i had it but was not happy with myself for not thinking about it.

i had a glass of water at home and went to pick up a new video game i have been hanging out for, i was thinking on the way home this could be a bad distraction and an excuess i may use so to test myself when i got home i threw it on my bed and grabbed the dog lead and set out for my walk, unfortunately i was in a rush to get started i forgot to get my clothes off the line and get changed into easy to walk in clothes so i ended up only going on a 33 minute walk today and didn't make forty because i was wearing jeans walking through the bush and it started to rain and had to get home.

i know first excuse but i will make up for it tomorrow truthfully, but i did it though. i think i am making good progress on my first few days and 80 percent of my previous attempts wouldn't have even reached this stage yet so im still proud of myself.

I had a microwave dinner for tea while everyone else sat around and had McDonnalds which was hard to do ill admit but i told them i wasn't going to have that and went and got a healthier dinner instead. It was just two small rissoles, some potatoes and carrot and beans.

To be honest im absolutely starving but i just keep drinking water and smoking and its helping. The smoking substitute is bad i know but it will help until i work out my diet plan and start it which will hopefully be tomorrow afternoon. I will keep you posted.

Summery of day

33/40 minutes walk :(
Ate healthy when i had two options to buckle and go fast food. :)
Overall i rate it a good start and something to keep working on.

Haha, smoking is a great appetite suppressant, isn't it? Shame about the horrible side-effects! Awh well, one vice at a time! :p Well done on the healthy lunch choice--Sounds lovely xx

hey all just a quick update tonight, I'm exhausted and need to get some sleep.

Today the 12th of March 2011

I had a piece of white bread and a small bottle of diet ginger beer for breakfast (was sick needed something bubbly)

I had a chicken avocado lettuce tomato beetroot and egg, white bread roll with a small bottle of juice for lunch.

had a banana and some grapes as a snack

Had a healthy choice 97% fat free microwave chicken risotto for dinner with two pieces of white bread and a glass of water.

Went on a 36 minute walk today, because i didn't get home till late tonight and walked out the door at around 11.40pm

overall still not hitting my walking target minimums but staying on the right path and enjoying it surprisingly. Confident that i can keep this up and hopefully start to go to the gym as well once i get some money together.

Hope everyone has been well and staying on their paths.

Another quick post today, flat out at the moment.

Had three wheat bix for breakfast in low fat milk.

had a piece of bread and some grapes for lunch with a diet ginger beer

had an apple and a kiwi fruit for a snack in the afternoon

late night snack of Vegemite sandwich

went for a 46 minute walk today and jogged for a little bit of that as well.

Hey all,

finally weighed myself today, the scales were sketchy but i used them anyways for a rough idea. Apparently im 110kg. To be honest it doesn't surprise me but it does hurt. I know im only four days in to my new life style but i didn't realize my weight was so much.

I had a kiwi fruit and two boiled eggs on toast for breakfast.

Had a boiled egg and some rock melon for lunch

Had an apple and a ham sandwich as a snack

Had a single pancake that was quite small.

Had Moroccan lamb and couscous with steamed vegetables for dinner.

I'm struggling during the day, i just feel so hungry the whole time even after i eat.

Any advice or tips for me? Also i still haven't got my hands on either of the two diets i want to do. I've just been trying to eat healthy.

Does what i have been eating over the last few days look alright or am i missing something out that i should or should not be eating?

Love all you guys and hope your all doing well with your diets too.

Hey, mr. Have you tried drinking a glass of water with each snack/meal? Usually before I eat I'll drink a glass and it makes you feel fuller quicker. Give it a try :) Also, maybe have a look at recipes/foods that are very, very low calorie. I have some soup that is 30 cals a portion so if I'm hungry I can have like 4 pints of this stuff for barely any calories and it really fills you up.

Liiiiike:
1 head green cabbage, cut into 1 inch pieces
1 medium onion, peeled and diced
4 large carrots, peeled and sliced
4 stalks celery, sliced
4 turnips, peeled and cut into cubes
2 zucchini, peeled and cut into cubes
2 cans green beans
32 ounces beef stock or chicken stock, or 16 ounces tomato juice and 16 ounces water

Combine all ingredients in a stock pot and bring to a boil. Add water, if needed, to cover all vegetables. Reduce heat to a moderate simmer and cover. Cook about 1 hour, or until all vegetables are tender.
This soup is so easy to make, and you can make a huge pot at one time and keep it in the refrigerator to eat on when you are hungry.

Practically no calories in that one. Also, celery, cucumber, broccoli, carrots. You can eat plenty, it just needs to be low cal. Have a huge bowl of steamed veggies--Still got calories but will keep you much more full than crisps or chocolate :) xx

Thanks for the recipe ill be trying that tomorrow. :)

Also forgot to add, found a good walking route today. it take's 50 minutes minimum to walk it so ill probably just keep doing that, and then add extra length at the end on the days i want to walk more.

Slowly walking more and more each day and its getting easier so im pretty happy with that aspect.
