Skinny wishes for a chunky gal!

thanks girls :D was pretty pleased and hopeully will lose a fair few lbs this week too! getting greedy for a loss now....better than greedy for chocolate i suppose!

walked around 4 miles today and my cals were well under control so things going good today. I am a bit worried tho cos i have an interview for a really nice clothes shop on thursday and i just hope that they dont think that im too fat to work there! I know that my cv is good and that obviosly got me the interview but i have a horrible feeling that they will take one look at me and decide that they dont want me to work there...i know legally they cant do that but im sure it happens all the time! fingers crossed and yet another incentive to diet!
 
If they don't hire you because of how you look, then you really dont want to work there anyway. :)

I hope you get the job though!

You and I both agree that the scale makes you so much more motivated! And I agree, it is better than chocolate! :)
 
Thanx i hope i get it too! Would really help with the whole saving for new zealand thing but i am pretty convinced that i wont get it now. I went into some of the other stores today and not only are the staff all very slim, the clothes barely fit me! I could get into their largest size in tops but there is no way that the largest size bottoms will fit me :( dammit...

Oh well as you say, if they judge me based on that then i def dont want to work there but would quite like to get a job now - im bored of being a lady of leisure!

at least the diet motivation is still there and im well on my way to hitting my target :D look on the bright side i suppose!
 
Thats right. :) Always keep positive. And don't worry about fitting into clothes right off the rack. That will come in time, and trust me, once you can grab something and fit in it, BAM, its another HUGE motivational boost. (I got down to a size 13 and was able to do that once many a moon ago. lol) Currently that's my goal. be able to buy off the rack.

Anyway, I will send good vibes towards your potential employer. :) I'm crossing my fingers for you.
 
:blush5:So this was a bit of good week and a bit of a bad week....:( didnt get the job that i went for - in fact didnt even do the trial day as i walked into the shop and one of the sales assistants 9thinking i was a customer) told me that she was sorry but they didnt have a plus size section! She then went to her colleaugue and they had a giggle while i stood there - i have honestly never felt so humiliated in my lfe :cry::cry: But i am def not a person who will be insulted and then just walk away! So I calmly walked over and explained that i was there to see the manager as i was the new supervisor. Their faces were a picture and I admit that it felt good to get back at them! Anyway i spoke to the manager and explained what they had done and she was horrified and apologised but i still couldnt bring myself to stay there so I made it clear that i would never work with those girls and left. anaged to keep the tears in until i got home but it was close.....bitches :blush5: My hubby pointed out that it was a lucky escape and i would never have enjoyed working there anyway - which is true so i will dust myslef off and try to forget them.


Anywayyyyyy, on a good note I have lost another 3lbs :party: I am now down to 229lbs and well on my way to my first target of 220 by halloween :D:D I am beginning to see a difference on my jawline - bit more defined and less of an extra chin! I am so completely motivated and will def be meeting that first target head on! Like last week, I have an action plan for this weekend so that i dont slurge and ruin it all - lots planned to do so I'll need to be careful.

And now i get to update my ticker again! wayhey:party:
 
Amen for not taking the insult laying down! And the best thing was, they probably got in big trouble for insulting a customer. It reminds me of something I did in high school...it was gym, and we were all in the locker room and one of those really skinny girls was standing in front of the full length mirror and pinching her non-existent belly fat and complaining about how fat she was...(god i hate that) So I went up to her and asked..."If you're fat...what does that make me? A beached whale?" :D She gave me a little huff and just walked away.

I'll send good vibes your way so that you can get a job where you will love working there.

And congrats on the loss! I'm still waiting to see 239...but hopefully will be there on Sat when I weigh in. :)

Keep your chin up, great opportunities come to those who deserve them! And you definitely deserve it.

Thanx girls :) I know i did the right thing with those awful girls but it is sooo annoying that poeple think that they can treat you that way cos you're overweight! Im only looking for a job until my teaching reg comes through but it seems that retail may not be my fave area!

Was pretty good this weekend and managed to avoid anything too calorific. but did have some candied almonds today - counted them in my cals so wasnt so bad! Got in a 3 mile walk on Saturday and a few miles yesterday and today. So far the walking is enough but i think i will step it up a gear soon - im actually quite fit now so maybe running would be best? Def starting salsa classes with my friends in a few weeks so looking forward to that!

Hoping to hit 226 this week so will be doing the 6 mile walk tomorrow :):biggrinjester:

1. What is your current height and weight?
Im currently 5'8 and 229lbs

2. If you were at an ideal weight now, what would that weight be?
I would be around a australian size 8/10 so around the 150lbs mark would be great!

3. At what weight would you like to be at four months from now?
Ideally i will be around 180/190lbs by then - def under 200!

4. Why do you want to lose weight?
Because I hate myself a little :( I used to be happy and confident and now im not. I see myself and think i am revolting. I honestly dont know why my husband is still with me. I want to look my age and wear nice clothes. I live by the beach and im dreading bikini season in a few weeks.

5. Do you want to lose weight for a specific life event such as wedding or reunion? If so, when is that event?
Not really. I do want to be able to skydive on my birthday next july and that has a weight limit of 185lbs so that is a real motivator. I also want to lose soem weight before the really nice weather starts in Nov.

6. What obstacles could get between you and your weight loss goals?
Weekends are always tough - nights out, alcohol, meals out...I also have a pretty effective self destruct button that makes me do the stupidest things for no good reason.

7. Why do you think that you now have a weight problem?
Im greedy, I eat too much crap and Im pretty lazy (or i used to be anyway) All adds up to too many cals and a lot of excess fat.

8. What lifestyle changes do you think would help you lose weight?
Exercising more and avoiding al the crap foods that are out there.

9. Have you lost weight in the past? If so, what has worked in the past to help you lose weight?
Lost and gained manyyyyyy times. Sticking to healthy diet and exercise works...its the eating shit and getting lazy that puts it back on!

10. Why do you believe that you did not lose weight or you gained the weight back?
Because I can be my own wost enemy and I wasnt prepared to make changes long term. I want things to happen quickly and i hate that this doesnt...many months/years of hard work and then maintenance is not much fun but it is neccessary.

11. What, if anything, has not worked for you in the past in helping you to lose weight? Why do you think it did not work?
Harsh diets, negative comments and lack of results quickly enough

12. Would you try writing down all food and drink consumed for a given period of time?
I hate doing it! I find it really boring and time consuming. I did try but prefer to keep track in my head. So far that is working but there might come a time when I'll have to do it.

13. Do you cook at home often? If so, what do you cook?
Im a pretty goo d cook and i usually make healthy meals. It's takeaways and junk that are teh problem!

14. How often do you go out to eat? Where do you go?
2 or 3 times to different restaurants. Usually for lunch but sometimes dinner.

15. What are your three favorite foods?
Cheese, tomato and mayo sandwiches, pizza and chicken rissotto


16. What are your three favorite restaurants?
Love Charminar (Indian), La Vita (Italian), Dominos - for pizza!

17. What are three things you can do differently when it comes to food?
Smaller portions, healthier choices, skinny coffees

18. If you woke up tomorrow and your body was exactly the way you want it, what would be different?
Slim, toned legs and arms, flat tummy, no double chin!

19. Do you eat when you are not hungry?
sadly yes

20. Do you binge eat (large amounts at a time)?
not really - i could (and have in the past) but i dont feel that urge anymore

21. Do you hide your food or eat in secret?
No, not for a long time

22. Do you eat when you are sad, nervous, or depressed?
Sometimes I do and i have to fight the feeling - especially if i am sad

23. Do you eat as a reward?
Again, I used to but i have got out of that habit

24. Do you eat while watching TV or using the computer? Yes, often

25. What do you normally eat for a meal?
Usually meat with some type of potato and veg or pizza

26. What type of snacks do you eat?
I allow myself 2 snacks per day at the moment - a timtam (choc biscuit) and a large diet yoghurt. If im really hungry then I will have fruit.

27. In terms of exercise, what, if anything, are you currently doing?
walking as many miles as i can per day and some home toning exercises

28. Where do you go for exercise? A local public gym? School/work gym? Home?
Home, walks along the beachfront, salsa classes

29. What, if anything, are your three favorite types of exercise?
I love walking, dancing and cycling. i would swim more but i still feel too fat to brave a swimming cossie

30. What is your daily/weekly/monthly/yearly motivation to move towards your goals? My monthly motivation is to lose 10lbs per month. That way i can see how it will progress and how it will change my shape. Overall motivation is to look ok in a bikini and to skydive for my birthday.

31. Do you have rewards for certain goals?
Yeah, but they are mostly emotional - except the massive amount of clothes that I will buy when i get to the ideal size!
 
Hey Skinnywishes! Just thought I would check in on you to see how your doing. I love your minigoals! They look so good... especially that AC/DC concert...and omg skydiving!! I don't think I could ever skydive, lol. :D And, yes, it makes it seem... and is much more achievable when you focus on small amounts at a time... focus on your first goal, then work from there. Your doing a wonderful job thusfar and you will definitely reach 150lbs!! No doubt about it if you keep at it! :)

I LOVE pizza too! ...but, I found these great healthier pizza alternatives that are delcious and filling! Try Lean cuisine pizzas, add a salad to it for a great dinner option!

Good idea answering those questions, I reread mine when I'm getting low on motivation...

Yesterday I went and bought some summer shorts. I can get them on but they're a bit too tight (can't bend over in them) so I think they'll keep me motivated too! lol I can't wait for summer to be here!

Thanx tamwalt :) I dont really deserve any praise tho - had the day from hell foodwise yesterday....could not resist the pizza! Now i feel really annoyed with myself. Oh well back on the wagon tomorrow i guess. Love the idea of the healhy pizzas! Not sure if we have them in oz but will have a look around.

Ok i weighed myself on Monday and i had gone back up to 331...not good :( that kinda caused a downward spiral cos i thought well whats the point then? Monday i wasnt too bad but tue included pizza and a pack of crisps. Today was a little better but i had no real meals. All i had was toast and cookies. I kept my cals down but not down enough.....and then there were the toasties :( I was hungry, there was no shopping in so i made possibly the most fattening thing in the world. Dammit :(:(:(

So no doubt about it this has been a very bad week. I have done pretty much no exercise and have eaten crap. I have no idea why i do this after doing so well but it all started after those damned scales....it seems so unfait that i put on weight when i was being so good that i really got disheartened and gave up. Well im never going to get the weight off by doing that so i will start again tomorrow. Long walks, limited cals and a fresh attitude!

I have adapted my ticker to show the gain...dammit...

bummer on the scale fluctuations, remember sometimes they go up when you've been your best and sown when you've been you're worst. Its the overall trand that you are looking for....
