Hi :)

I live in a gorgeous beach town in Adelaide, Australia. It is almost summer (backward seasons from the west!) and the temperature is starting to rise! I really dont want to be the fat chick on the beach again and be self concious about my cossie!

Most of my friends are petite and slim and pretty soon our whole socail life will be beach based and I dont want to feel like a whale anymore! Im 80lbs over weight, which i am quite ashamed of to be honest. Usual reasons - too much food and not enough exercise! I dont have the excuse fo having kids or any health problems...Im fat because i eat too much and im lazy. At the moment im a size 18 Aus size and i would like to get down to a size 12. My ideal weight is 170lbs but i will be happy to get under 200 and then anything else is a bonus!

Im going to keep a food diary and an exercise log and hopefully this site and my records will keep me on track. Im quite determind and i really want to feel healthier and look a bit nicer in a swimming cossie!

S xx

Hey Skinnywishes,

I'm in NZ and trying to shape up for summer as well.

Getting down to 200lbs is a great goal.

Good luck

Ana

I'm so jealous that summer is just starting for you! i'd say it's just ending here in Ontario but we didn't get summer at all this year! It was so cold and wet. My parents live on a lake and I didn't get in the water once this year! So sad. Anyway, glad you decided to join and I look forward to checking on your plan and progress. Keep it up!

hi girls :) thanks for your support! Ana where are you in NZ? Im going over in April so any touristy ideas would be great :) We are travelling through both islands on the trains but I want to see everything i can!

hi chubbygirl (feel a bit rude writing that!) thanks for your encouragement :) I was in Ontario a couple of years ago but it was winter...and boy was it cold! Cant wait for summer to get here so it sucks that you havnt had one at all!

I think i might have been a bit optimistic about posting a food diary every day....didnt quite work out there! lol no matter i have been sticking to the diet pretty well (atfer an initial period of being very naughty!) and been walking miles so over the last few days i have lost almost 3lbs :biggrinjester: i will make a friday my official weigh in day so i have a couple more days until i can record and actual weight loss!

I had a bit of 'thinspiration' today in the form of my hubby. He will be 30 this year so im trying to think of something cool for his birthday. was looking at sky diving (which i would love to do but he would hate!) and there are really strict rules about how heavy you can be. If you are over 85kg (187lbs) then they wont let you jump! Since i really want to do this for my 30th in three years time, it has given me a bit of a fright:svengo: Yet more motivation to succeed and get the wine weight off!

Another thing is that we are going to a halloween party in about a month and we are going with some friends who are REALLY skinny (seriously im talking size 0-2) i just know that they will be in really sexy little outfits and i'll be stuck with the princess fiona from shrek option (actually has happened that that was all i could find to fit me....oh the shame...) Obviously im not going to be anywhere near thin by then but i could quite easily be 15lb lighter if i step up a gear and exercise a bit more.

Since i seem to place a lot of pressure on certain events i decided to link mini-goals to things that are happening...hpefully teh incentive will be there when i look at the list. well thats teh theory anyway but hey ho it may well do the trick!

OK...events to link the goals to!

October 24 - Weekend in Barossa Valley IDEAL WEIGHT 220lbs

October 31 - Halloween! IDEAL WEIGHT 218lbs

December 25 - Christmas! IDEAL WEIGHT 200lbs...best pressie i could get!

January 2 - First weigh in of New Year STILL BE 200lbs OR UNDER!

February 13 - AC/DC concert in Melbourne IDEAL WEIGHT 188lbs

February 21 - Soundwave Festival IDEAL WEIGHT 186lbs

April 14 - Holiday to New Zealand!! IDEAL WEIGHT 170lbs (officially light enough to skydive!!)

My big goal (the one that Im pretty terrified to write down for fear of never achieving it) is to be 150lbs. This will put my BMI right into the middle of healthy range at 23. Looking at the goals broken down it actually seems achievable before my birthday in july....maybe I'll bring the sky diving forward and do it on my 28th birthday instead!

SKYDIVING FOR MY BIRTHDAY IN JULY IDEAL WEIGHT 150LBS

so here goes....barossa target of 220 is the first one....

Still going well with the healthy eating but the tropical electric storms are making it v difficult to get out and exercise! I really want to do my walks but the rain and lightning are conspiring against me! Roll on summer.....

Looks like i will just have to go to the mall and walk around for an hour or so -and perhaps buy some nice things! :) The rain is costing me dearly!

Hey skinnywishes

good idea on the mini goals... they seem really motivational... i'd be way to SCARED to skydive. eek

My first minigoal is to get under 90kg, and I'm well on the way now with the exercise and eating...

Hope you can get back out exercising soon. Maybe you should get an exercise video (dvd?) for those stormy days.

Ana

Hey skinnywishes

First off, why the heck would you want to jump out of a perfectly good airplane? :) lol. That would scare me to death to do that. You're brave!

Second, mini goals are awesome, they help to keep you from thinking that the larger goal is just too big. Trust me, I've been there, done that. Good luck on your journey, we're all here to support you!

wow thanks ladies :):) The mini goals are easier to imagine...you're right xiore the big target does seem awfully far away!

ana i did finally manage to get out today!:hurray: 3 mile walk after lunch...wasnt a lovely day but it was pretty much dry! Cant really use exercise dvds as i live in an apartment and i dont think the people downstairs will be too pleased! Thankfully rubbish weather isnt all that common here so we should be back to normal soon:)

And as for the airplane....it has to be done! Got a whole load of things that I want to do:biggrinjester: when we go to new zealand we're going to do the biggest bungee jump in the world...Im a bit of an adrenalin junkie!

Today was a pretty good day. I had a girly lunch but chose a healthy option and diet cokes and then walked 3 miles home. Feeling a bit angelic now! i have been rally concious of my calories and have avoided going over 1400. The weekend will be more of a challenge (always is!) so i will make sure that i stick to my guns.

Cant wait to weigh in on friday and see how much i have lost...i can def feel a difference in my jeans!

yay for feeling the difference in your jeans! The little things like that always bolster me to keep going.

I wish I had you gumption for adrenaline, but I don't even like going over jumps on horseback unless i absolutely have too! (but that might be cause I'm afraid of heights :))

Keep up the good work, and I know you will do well this weekend. :)

Hey skinny wishes

Tell me to butt out if you want, but 1400 cal seems a little low? I weigh less than you and am losing on 1800 - 2000 cal (plus exercise of course :))

Have you looked at the stickies etc regarding how many cals to eat?

anyways... I could NEVER bungee jump, I'd mess my pants I reckon. When I'm driving down to Queenstown I sometimes stop at the bungee bridge and watch people jump off. That's enough adrenalin for me (I'm such a wuss)

Ana

Hi! I just wanted to say good luck with your mini goals! I really like that idea...I might try to come up with some for myself..lol! You are very brave wanting to skydive.....it makes my stomach queasy just thinking about it..LOL. Good luck with your weigh-in on Friday!

hey girls :)

lol the bungee jumpng looks amazing in NZ - cant believe you get to see it! Prob once i do see it i will get a little scared!

Thanks for the advice on the cals. Im am taking in around 1800 - 1400 on food and 400 per day on a vitamin and protein drink. Its pretty good and all those lovely vitamins have made a real difference to my skin and hair - i look much healthier!

Had the big weigh in on friday and was bang on 232 so i lost just over 4lbs last week :D:D had a bit of a pizza blowout after a very heavy night out on sat but it doesnt seem to have had much impact on the weight loss thank goodness! Back to being very good yesterday and i have lots of healthy meals and exercise planned for this week :)

Quite chuffed that i get to change my ticker and watch it move down a bit :)
