Six months to get fit (and hot)

Hey wishes annagail is right, you are inspiring. And good on you for coming back. We all know that losing the weight is only part of the journey. It's so difficult to maintain. argh

Well, day one of my big exercise week, and I've already changed my plan (I should have known I would:))

Yesterday I went to a bbq at my brother's place and decided to walk home (7km) I walked as fast as I can (to burn off my dinner cals!) and this morning wasn't up to my home cct. I did an easy walk and then came home and cleaned for an hour. I have to mow the lawn this afternoon so I'm getting some pretty good activity in.

My hubby and I are going to look at a property we might buy. We've been searching for a lifestyle block/hobby farm type place, and we think we've found a good one. 11acres (4.2hec) with a lovely house and established trees and gardens, a pond etc. Its very exciting. THe only problem with it is its a bit further out of town than we wanted. We can't really afford the ones that are closer in though. We are going to have a 2nd look this afternoon. EXCITED!

I'll let you all know how we get on.

oooo thats so exciting! better to be a wee way out now because towns generally grow. Soon enough you will have a massive "estate" in prime country :)

Yes maintaining the weight is just as hard as losing the weight.

That sounds like a lovey place Anna.banana. I always wanted to live on a farm. We have 3/4 of an acres and it is a lot of grass cutting for us in the summer.

I walked 1 mile with walk at home DVD. I used to love getting out and walking around the track at the high school.

Well we went out to look at the property again, its really awesome and we can probably afford the money. We're just negotiating at the moment. eek wish us luck.

There'll be heaps of outdoor work with the gardens etc. But it is all well established which is really good. I'm really looking forward to getting settled and out gardening again, we haven't had much of a garden for the last couple of years.

I weighed in on someone elses scales this morning. I was a kilo lighter which is cool if its true. I've decided to believe it!

I'm cooking paella for dinner tonight, I'll only have a small portion, its so yummy though mmmm I'm going to put chicken and prawns in it.... then I'll go out for a swim later.

Awesome Anna! believe the scaleeee! good encouragement right? :)

And hope the negotiations go well for the property, I've also been looking around for property, would be nice to settle down in a nice house and lad eh? and the gardening would for good exercise too!

What is Paella? never heard of that!

Paella is sort of like a risotto, rice and prawns and veges (courgettes, mushrooms, onions, garlic, spinach, capsicum in my one today) cooked for about an hour in chicken stock and tomato and paprika)

It's my own version (not authentic, but very yummy). I do it pretty low fat but always want to eat a big portion...oops. I don't make it too often.

We've agreed a price for the property so just need to do some checks on the land and house before we go unconditional... woot... will move in at the end of Jan.

How do I celebrate without eating lots? I feel hungry with excitement (if you know what I mean?). Better eat a yummy carrot (haha)

Carrots eh. I must say I've become a bit partial to peeling a carrot and chewing on it when I have a hunger pang, does the job! Anyway, had a flick through your thread here, envious of the daily exercise you put in! You're doing great, keep it up :D

glad to hear ur feeling better anna, and i wish i could get my bf in on the exercise thing, but he keeps making excuses, over and over again, its very frustrating!! but i have a few girls from uni who like to do gym classes with me, any support is good support i guess!!

hope you shake off the bug once and for all, keep up the great work :)

xx

I wish I could get into swimming.
I think that even as I grow thinner, I'll still sink like a rock in my own backyard pool.

Have a good week, Anna!

Hey everyone,

Thanks for all the comments, its great to have people reading and responding.

I weighed again and I've definately had a loss. YAY I'm down to 92.2kg today.

I don't know if I wrote here, but I've joined a new cal counting website and I've dropped my cals back down to 1500. I'm going to do that til xmas, and then have a couple of weeks at 1800 again. It seems to be what I've been doing over the last few months and seems to be working.

Gotta run to work back later

anna

I feel like I've been away for a few days. We've had a house guest which has kept me pretty busy, and I'm feeling so tired, must be the build up to xmas... and TOM due too which makes me tired.

We're just doing some due diligence on the house. Checking title and getting a valuation etc. Because we had a big earthquake here in September we need to make sure we can get insurance etc. So far it is all looking good for moving in in Feb :) happy happy happy

It gives me an after xmas goal for going all out on the exercise and diet, as I know I'll get really busy for a while when we move.

I didn't lost on the scales this week - prob just my monthly fluctuations, and I won't worry til next week.

I did a full on work out (in the back yard) on Sat. I was doing my usual cct but added sprints (about 20m as fast as I could), it really added a new dimension and my quads are feeling it today. I'm enjoying feeling fitter and stronger, so cool.

I've got 2 work parties this week. I have to work early after one and night shift straight after the other, so I won't be drinking, which means I should manage to count my cals pretty well. I'm going to walk to one party cause hubby is meeting me there, it means I'll get an extra 40min of exercise in (tommorrow).

Good luck through this week and the work parties- so hard to avoid temptation at those with all the alcohol and food doing the rounds, fortunately I only had the one and for me personally it marks a bookend on the drinking for now- just destroys my willpower!

I'm also a paella lover. It's traditional here to eat it every Sunday which we do in the Summer as we cook it outside. I've managed to cut out a lot of the calories in it by cutting out all the fatty meat and using less oil.

Your backyard workout sounds great! Good news about the house too! Looks like 2011 is going to be a great year for you! keep it up Anna!

Well I've had a few days not eating that well and not exercising either... sigh. I find that as soon as i have one bad day I get really HUNGRY, like I've woken up my sugar receptors of something.

Today I got up and ate a good brekkie and had a proper work out so that was good. I'm trying to have a couple of good weight loss days , and then I think I'll get into maintainance mode for two weeks.

My challenge to myself is to do good exercise every day though to 31st - and I'll just try to stay at maintainance cals for that time. I think I'll log my exercise here for motivation.:cheers2:

Todays' exercise (so far), 30 min walk (about 2.5km)
25 min cct (avg 155 bpm):hurray:

anna

Today's exercise. 30min walk with dog (a bit lazy today).... does walking to the bar count, we went to a wine tasting event in a marquee, lots of fun but not great on the cals oops.

My exercise plan for tommorrow. walk with dog 40min, home cct 30min, clean house 90min? I'll report back here tommorrow to see if I managed all that :)
