Sitting watching t.v whilst continously lifting 5kg weights..

Since i've started lifting, about 2 weeks ive notice a huge improvement in my arms.. but i was wondering

if i am watching t.v and just sit down whilst continously doing 5kg weights, WILL i get gains? or is it just a total waste of time.. thanks

You could. This just depends on your genetics. You could see gains for a short while, then your body will adapt and you will hit a plateau. After that you'll need to change up your regiment.

One of themost common misconceptions of resistance training is the more the better... This is completely false. Your muscles grow when they're resting, so if you are doing arms everytime you sit in front of the t.v., you're not giving your body time to rest/grow. There are only a few muscle groups you can hit daily and still see results. Calves and abs are two that come to mind. Hope that answers your question.

That is an incorrect statement. Abs and Calves should be treated just like any other muscle. That is unless they are simply used for irradiation or stabilizing.

Sorry...I should have been more specific... thanks for clarifying Johnny...

So doing a stomach workout on consecutive days is a bad idea? Huh was always under the impression you could do stomach as much and as often as you wanted as long as it isn't sore.

You can, you just won't gain as fast because you are not letting your body heal completely. It's detrimental to performance as well.
