how about a lil pushups for fun challenge.

Let's see who can do 500 pushups within the day tomorrow. and share your experience as you go along.

Are there any specific rules as to how many you can do at one time?
Can I just do 30 here, 30 there, 30 everywhere until they add up ?

I'm going for my annual physical tomorrow and in addition to the indignation of having my lady GP stick her finger up my rectum, and later hold my scrotum while I cough, I further get the dubious distinction of falling into the sissy camp when I fall short of 500 pushups tomorrow! But, I think I can go 250 and end up as only a half sissy. I'll pop a hundred before my physical tomorrow morning - show off my pumped up arms to my lady GP! Maybe she'll have sympathy on my bamboo sized arms and lube me before she probes me.
 
500 is too low, depending on the rules. (If its all in one day.....this is nothing...at least with me)

I am new to pushups- I've never done more than three sets of 12, and my form is not all that good although I am working on it.

Could I try for 100? That would be a big challenge for me.
 
If I do 500 pushups in a day; I think my chest is gonna be sore for weeks. But then again its always good to shock your body every now and then....idk I'll think about it.

If it didn't make your body sore and shock your body, whats the point?

How will people know if we actually did do the 500, i propose that the person have to record themselves and put it on the forums as proof :p

For your information, I can nearly do 100 nonstop......500 is nothing in one day. I did over 300 situps at the academy agility tests a few weeks go. (I just plainly and admittingly stink in the running part of the agility tests) Before my max Pushups were 82, and now Im closing in on 100. If I read woodts journal correctly, he is OVER 100 before fatiguing--so he should be able to hit 500 in one day.

the rules are on you. Nice clean down to the floor for chin or chest touch and all the way up. Do as many or as few as you wish at a time. But try and get the 500 in one day. I did 390 for my 39th birthday and was sore as hell for a week.

not all of us are 6% body fat and 145 lbs like Chillen. have fun with it.

Oh and who will know if you did or not?? - YOU! is there anybody else that really matters.

p.s. 100 in a day is no small attempt. Let's all juts do what we can... as long as it is more than we would without the challenge.

I am going for 500.
 
I'm all up for the challenge but for those of us with jobs to do and no office of our own does anyone have any tips for fitting these in during the day?

I fear that just dropping and doing 50 in the middle of the day won't go down too well with my bosses, even if I explain that this guy off the internet said I should it

Although people will hear me puffing away in there and coming out all red faced 4 or 5 times a day :eek:. They're gonna scared to go in that cubicle after me wondering what I was up to

I think I'll do a sissy rain check on this until the weekend

Just got 150 done-- and I got caught! My boss walked in, and said DUDE!! what are you doing? So I told him.

Great impression to make on my new job-- hahahaha -- he is going to try it too.

p.s. I have not done this in awhile and I can feel it in the lower portion of my tricept already
 
Shiiiit,tomorrow's my rest day. I'm lifting 4 days a week. Wouldn't that screw up my recovery time? This is the reason I haven't been able to do 1 rep max for deadlift challenge either.

I missed ya in the ChillLog ;): Ive been bulking for several weeks, FFer. Up from 158 to 174.9. Therefore, currently Im not at 8% body fat at the present time, and plan to bulk several more weeks before cutting back again.


ROCK ON! FFer........

I plan to do it at the beginning, middle, and end of my WO today. And, replace my other FreeForm exercises I normally do, in-between sets, with the pushup.

We'll see what happens......
