Oh wow you have a lot of stress and sh*t going on. I'm so sorry. I hope your boyfriend doesn't get demoted, maybe it'll be one of those slap on the wrists kinda things. As for moving into low income housing and food stamps, let me tell you girl, it's a lot of Americans. I'm sure the president is doing what is humanly possible, but the economy is bad all over the world, not just here. I know how bad it sucks to not find a job, all I can say is keep looking and apply everywhere! I remember a time when I was younger and my dad lost his job for a month and we ate nothing but white rice and fried eggs, but we made it and you can too!
One thing my career counselor told me was to sell myself on my resume, anything special you do put in on there. Like I can draw, but don't have an art degree, I put that in there. Any volunteer work, make sure you put computer literate. If you can navigate any site, you are computer literate. Take an online wpm test, and put your word speed there. Also, you may already be doing this, look for jobs in your local paper, apply to any business near you even if they're not hiring (someone might quit that same day you never know!), check on campus jobs.
As for not being able to afford your gym, don't feel so bad. There are a lot of online resources and books at the library to learn exercise. and walking is free and extremely effective, it is how I lost my first 20lbs.
I hope things get better!
