Ok, here is the skinny on the fat so to speak.
I used to be in tremendous shape, I didnt lift weight much but I ran, I ran my butt off, 25 miles a week.
I was 28, 6"1 195ish
Then I injured my knee playing softball, had to have surgery, no biggie, in fact 100% recovery, but I could not run for 3 months.
Didn't adjust diet, sat on my ass a lot, gained 10 pounds..
I was still active, but no running.
fast forward to the present minus 6 months.
I turned 30 in august of 2010, got up one morning and didnt like the person I saw in the mirror
217 pounds at that point.
So I went out and bought a home gym, and a mountain bike. workout every day except sat and sun ,ride the bike a few miles mon, weds, fri.
no more running, just dont like it.
On the weekends, I kayak, go hiking, skiing (climate permitting)
I am a field technician for a MSO meaning 8-5, mon-fri I climb telephone poles and tote heavy crap here and there, work is not causing me to get fat in other words.
I don't "diet" But I do for sure take in less calories than I used to, no fast food, sodas, just water, gator, stuff cooked at home, which is usually some form of lean cuisine or something to that effect for lunch, and grilled chicken or steak for dinner.
as I sit, 221 pounds...
I have put on significant muscle mass thanks the the gym, so that explains some gain in weight.
My arms, legs, chest.. everything looks great, as good as ever.. my stomach is FLAT, and im just almost at a 6 pack, but the side fat (love handles?) seems unaffected by anything and everything, they are still there and best I can tell, have no plans of leaving. I look great from the front, fat from the side.
I don't get it, Im getting rather frustrated. months of working at it and, though i DO look and feel better, pants still fit the same
no weight loss...
Ive never, ever had a problem with weight, always been "skinny kid" I had to work HARD to keep any muscle on my frame, I probably have more muscle now in my upper body than I Ever have.
Is there anything else besides bust ass exercise I can try? pills? drinks? sacrifice something... this is driving me up the wall.
