Shy to Fly Weightloss Journal

So this is gonna be my weight loss journal, hoping to look back on this to keep me motivated as I did in 2008. I guess I should start with my story and how I succeeded, then messed everything up.

I graduated high school in 2007, and started dieting in late December of 07. With no actual scale I had no idea how much I weighed at the time, not until February 08. I was 325lbs, pretty big I must say. So I started dieting, gradually losing weight. By June I was 284lbs and felt great, but there was when I started slacking off in my dieting. A year later I was still at 284lbs, but just gave up, 2011 I've gained all my weight back, and then some, ending up at 352lbs.

Recently I went to a Memorial Day Party and got extremely drunk, crying like a little baby how pathetic I am for gaining soo much weight, so here I am again, dieting.

Five days into my diet I feel great, not having any trouble with late night cravings or bored hungers, not caving in. On Monday I start my workout routine and hope for the best. I've completely got rid of everything to drink but water. In fact drinking this much water has made me hate the taste of most drinks now.

hi DanialG

welcome! I know the feeling when you gain it all back, i went through the same thing. went from 240 - 200 and then went back up again to 250:svengo:

Im nearly a month back into it all and this places a great support to me, as im sure it was and will be again to you. Good luck keep us updated

Thank you for the comments! My workout is going to be a mixture of different programs, but put together how I see fit. Today I'm heading to the zoo, so lots of walking today. But afterwords when I get back, I start lifting weights. Got a lot of cardio in last week, today I start my weight lifting to go along with it. Lost 2.2lbs.

I walked the zoo today, carrying the cooler that had our drinks in it. Switching off between arms every once and a while for about 8-9 miles of walking. Truth be told my feet have blisters all over them. I need a nice pair of shoes worth walking vast distances in.

good job on your loss !!!a good pair of shoes for walking/working out is a must!Seems you're doing really well on your work out aswell!! :)

Thank you everyone! Yea I own 2 pair of shoes, and a pair of boots, all three of them give me blisters after walking for a few miles. I'm trying to find a good brand that will last me years.

Tomorrows the final weigh in, I weighed myself a couple minutes ago, and it's 2.6lbs gone, but I've still got a lot of liquid in my body from all the water I drank today. I'm also going to be walking the canal again this afternoon.

I hurt my back on Monday so I didn't get to lift much, but I should be good to go tomorrow.
So I will update tomorrow morning with the final Week 2 weigh in.

DanialG well done so far, but take it slow with the weights initially to allow your body to adjust before trying to lift too heavy.

Thank you for the advice! I actually hurt my back falling down some stairs, as cliche as that is. It's fine now, and I don't plan on lifting more than what I can actually carry.

3.4lbs lost, it's safe to say most of it was liquid.

It's Monday~

So last week we didn't do as much walking as I wanted to. I'm trying to get used to using a treadmill, because well...I find it extremely boring. It can't replace walking through the Erie Canal Reservation bike trail. At least there I lose track of time wandering around. But, Friday we did do some walking, a lot of walking. I was so out of breath after the long walk my parents thought I was going to have a heart attack, so I pretty much slept the rest of the day, and half the day after.

Sunday was Fathers Day, didn't get too much walking in, but I still found a little time to walk around the Lake we were fishing at. Didn't catch a damn thing fishing though.

Today I'm going to clean up my room, and start using my Bowflex, the seat still can't hold me, but I can do the stand up exercises.

Welcome to the family Danial.

Sounds like your off and running to a good start. I wish you the best and hope you success.

We are all here to help when ever you need it.

Thank you Grey, I really appreciate all this encouragement.

Week 4 is over~ I didn't expect to lose much weight, but I was surprised.

Yesterday was Weight Lifting, and today was Cardio. Weight lifting hurts a lot, but Cardio just pours out sweat and gives you a giant headache. Obviously I don't keep up the pace with everyone else, so I work at a little slower rate.

Let me tell you, before the workout you don't want to do it, during the workout it hurts like hell. But after..... After it just feels incredible. Knowing you've spent the last 20-60minutes doing something no one was forcing you to do, and you completed it on your own terms. It's great to have the help of others, but much more satisfying when you can complete something difficult on your own. I feel fantastic, and will continue to keep up this lifestyle until I die~

Yesterday was my sisters Birthday, they brought home a giant cake. While yes, I did want a plate full, I turned it down. Instead I had a small helping of grapes and pineapple.

I'm into my fifth week, and almost done with June. I feel really great about my decision, and hope to help others on my way.

Thank you all~

I was curious this morning on if I reached my 10lbs goal for the month. I did!

I've lost 10.6lbs so far. I'm going to push harder in my workouts to try to reach 15lbs next month.

Found a great park way to walk at. I've decided to only walk here from now on until I find a new place. We didn't walk that much, about 2miles, but I've still got my Weight lifting to do before I go to bed.

Seriously, my first diet was never this successful. I lost the weight, but never exercised this much.

So June is over, a full month of diet, and almost a week of my workout routine. I'm going to push real hard to lose 15lbs this month.

My body feels like crap from the walk I did yesterday. I was originally supposed to ride a bike, but the only bike I own is one I used to ride when I was 12. I was way to big to ride it. So instead we walked, for the 3hours it took to get there and back.

Week 5 is over, 5lbs lost.

Last week wasn't that great. I did eat more than I should, a lot more. But the good news is I didn't gain any weight. Bad news is I didn't lose a lot of weight. 0.2lbs actually.

Right now I'm pretty sore because I think I popped a blood vessel, or something scratched my eye. Can't figure out which it is. But tomorrow will be the first 70ish degree weather in days, so I'll be able to walk outside for a change.

The eye in question;
