Should I rest for a week now?

Ive been lifting hard for about 5 months 4-5 nights a week now. I overheard somewhere that if you have been lifting that long you should take a 1 week rest break.

Is that true?

Im not sure about that. I may take a few days rest but not a week...

Also if you go ahead with taking a break for a week be careful you can get back into it. Usually its extremely hard taking a week of then getting back into it. So just keep that in mind.

It depends on what your body is telling you.

You should know whether or not you need a break off. Trust yourself.
 
A week off every now and then is great. I know when I start to get tired, feel sore all over and start getting little injuries (pulled muscles etc) I always come back stronger
