Hi I think I have found a supportive site that will say 'Well done' when I try instead of just asking me how much I have lost! That's what I think I need.

I am 17st 10 lb as of this morning and for my 5 foot 5 1/2 inch height, that is a little over .....:blush5:
I want to get down to 11 stone but this is going to take a while so instead of fixating on how long this is going to take I have committed to do 'something' towards my goal every week.

This week I am steaming a new vegetable - mixed peppers. (don't know why I never tried steaming these before.)

Also I am going swimming after my physiotherapy class tomorrow. I am going to do this for the next few weeks and see how it goes!

Look forward to getting to know some of you more in the weeks and months to come.

Blessings.

Welcome to the forum.

Doing something is a great idea. I started off with the simplest of things - going out walking every day... Consistency means that a small change when turned into a daily activity turns you into a totally different sized person... Naturally - you have to build on it and mean that you adopt good habits for both exercise and nutrition - but baby steps is definitely the way that works.

Feel good about every day you do these new healthy things.

Great day - physiotherapy followed by a swim.
Couldn't swim lengths as the kids are on holiday but that was good. It will give me the chance to build up strength.
Then topped that off with a trip to the movies. Saw Dawn of the planet of the apes. .... Very good. Realised part way in I was rooting for the apes! Exciting. Not gory.
Right I have veg steaming and apples to which I am going to have with Yogurt.

So Fruit and fibre for breakfast.
Chicken Sandwich.
Steamed Veg + brown rice + Thai Red Chicken Curry
2 steamed apples + yogurt
{usually have bowl of cereal before bed}
Have not drunk nearly enough today but will try and make it up tonight.

Doing really well. Bought a exercise DVD and then went on holiday for 2 weeks - but I am back now and done it 5 days straight.
I thought to myself 'am I prepared to give 30 min a day, 30 min out of 24 hours, to my health?' And you know what - it is really not that much time.
I am supposed to do it 6 days a week, but I have told myself I will do it every day I feel well enough. And that seems to be working for me.
The DVD has eating advice so I am following that .... So far so good with that to.
Now I am not doing 5 hour train trips to Ipswich or Durham ... (visiting friends) I feel I can focus on myself more.
So 7th August 248 lb
16th August 243 lb fantastic.
Good luck and well done to everyone who is on this site today.

Another great day. Sunday was day 7 so I didn't do the exercise DVD but I went to Aqua class as usual. I was worried that I was going to put weight on because I did not do it .... but down another lb !
Yesterday back to the DVD. I am still finding one section with arms really hard. I just have to drop my arms for a count of 2 but then I can get through everything else. I keep reminding myself that is fine as I have only been doing the DVD for 7 days!
I have a funeral to go to today and the rest of the day is packed so I woke early because I think I was worried that I would not fit the exercise in. I woke and hour early and just got up and did the exercise, got a shower and started my day.
I am going to hold off measuring myself around the waist and legs etc. for another week.
I hope everyone has a great day.
