Share Your Stories! How did you get into fitness?

I know its been over a year since someone replied, but thought i would post anyway.

I got into fitness i think just by wanting to be physical better, and got inspiration from a lot of people, i really want slightly visable abdominals. Oh yeah and by having nothing to do.

I started wanting to get into fitness becouse 1-its fun.2-it takes stress off me when I'm mad about something,3-sick and tired of all the bullies that take advantage of me.4-my mom said one day my metabolism will catch up to me so I want to be prepared for when that day comes!

you can post where you want jackie. noone cares about the gender thing here. All females are more than welcome!

you cant even image google the guy :p

I started training because i was the skinniest and most scrawny kid around. :p

you cant even image google the guy

if this is the guy who wrote the truth about building muscle, try to google Sean Nalewanyj

I started working to improve my health over all, I also was starting to get high blood pressure and I prefer not to do meds..

As a hasbeen extreme athlete, never getting my big shot, I sat on my couch watching T.V. at 240+, with a 40 inch (or so) waiste, and saw the finish to a marathon.

I saw the look on their faces and I wanted it.

It took me two years to complete my first one.

I just wanted to take advantage of my bodies potential instead of shoving crap in my gut every day. I look around when I am out walking to work etc and see all the out of shape people, and it makes me sad. I don't want to be like that, I mean no offence to people though. It is also more socially acceptable to be overweight these days but its just not what I want.

I also want to improve for my girlfriend too in ways because I nice lean muscular body will be much nicer for her, not that she has ever complained before lol.

Also I got sick of looking like this:

Man I make myself sick! haha.

Oh also I want a gorgeous body to match my face

Oh and this isn't the reason I got into it but once I did I have noticed I am always wanting to challenge myself every single day. To push myself to lift that little bit extra each time, or to run that little bit faster and further. Even when I feel like giving up I find the strength to continue fighting on. Not just during exercise but in life in general. It really helps to make you a better person, giving me more integrity and being more confident in everything that I do.

Oh and always finishing what I started :)

HAHA you're right. I need another nail for the clock!!

I have Jessica Alba on my other wall though and she isn't covered up ;) I prefer a more curvy lady myself though Oh yeahhhhh

Man my boobs look sick in that picture haha! Yes BOOBS, I don't even consider that a chest in that pic, god knows when that was from anyway. I just found it.

Mine's quite simple, I decided last summer that it would be my last of being the skinniest guy on the beach. I joined a gym, came here for a few pointers and the rest is history.

I now love it and want to step things up a level :)

I was a fat kid, being fat was only interesting for so long... you know my entire life. So I started lifting to look a bit better and because I dindt' like to run but wanted to do some physical activity.

I'm still kinda fat actually, but whatever. When I actually got realyl into lifting and started eating less, I managed to go from 205lbs. to 170 lbs. Which I thought was the coolest thing in cool land. Now I've started "bulking" and I've gained about 5 pounds since June.

Oh yeah, and lifting is one of those activities that you improve in over time and any time I can see myslef improve I like to.
