Shandy's weight loss diary: Take 3--Action!

He's a cop actually, in the US air force...still haven't figured out if I married him for the handcuffs, or if he married me because I'm not afraid of them....hmmm
yeah we've lived in England and Italy, visited Germany, planning on heading to Belguim in April. it's been fantastic so far. Thinking about trying to get stationed in Japan next. The only shitty part is the deployments. Matt's been gone for almost 6 months, and is FINALLY coming (or should I say cuming?) home in a couple weeks.

OMG ... SIX MONTHS? That would be so difficult. You guys obviously stay in contact with each other as much as possible to keep the "flow" or the "dynamics" going on, right?

he's got a laptop and webcam. :D it certainly helps. I have every intention of crippling him when he gets home though. this is the second 6 month deployment he's been on since we met. yeah, it still sucks. in a very not-fun way.

How ya been, besides as beautiful as ever darlin'? I'm sorry for not stepping in here as much as I should be...

So, we should expect a short absence in a couple weeks, while Li'l Shandy renders her hubby unable to walk for a bit?:biggrinjester:

I'll be sure to pop in here the morning Matt comes home to let you all know not to expect me for a couple weeks. he's going to inprocess to the base, (3 days max) then he's got 2 weeks R&R. We're going to hopefully go to Venice, Barcis(YAY for winter camping!!! :D), and possible back out to Lignano to do some Shandy Shopping. first time in years I'll have done that! But a promise is a promise, and I've made it down to 131 again, so my wonderfully brave hubby get to take me shopping. poor Matt. ;)

and no worries about not popping in here, i've been pretty hit and miss on here myself. I'm almost done sewing the dragons onto the main quilt, then I've just got to go through the hell of attaching the batting and backing. then I'm DONE!!! 2 years after I started the damn thing. Oh, and in response to your rep comment, no you're not the first guy to compliment me on my dragons. :D I put one of the wanna-be badass cops to shame out at Barcis just before Matt left. we were all sitting around BSing at the campfire and this douche was talking about how he was such a badass, check out his tat....and proceeded to show off this dragon that was maybe 5 inches long, on his arm. everyone ooooh'd and ahhhh'd, till Matt told me to turn around and lift my shirt. they took one look at my back and out popped the "wow, kinda sad that Almada's wife has a bigger dragon than you." comments. :D
But glad you like the collection we've started. I can't wait till Matt's out of the military and we can settle into a house. I've got all kinds of designs mapped out for how we can display them all. :D it's gonna rock.

LOOKIT!!!
I'm pinning the batting and backing tonight and tomorrow, then it's just the final round of sewing and that quilt from hell is finished!

:D aww, thanks! for once I'm taking a compliment and running with it! I am insanely proud of this quilt. I started it when Matt deployed to Saudi 2 years ago. the dragon design on it is an adaption from a tattoo design I found online. it started out as a 5 inch square picture, and ended up getting enlarged to a 5 foot tall fabric cutout. talk about a pain in the ass. add to that the fact that it's all been done by hand. the sewing and everything. it's been one hell of a project. I'm hoping to make a set of throw pillows to match next. don'tknow how much of a pain that'll be though....:ack2:

That is one of the coolest, most badass quilts I have ever seen :eek2:

You are SO creative and brilliant.....oh yeah, you're a Leo, well that goes without saying!

Wow that's beautiful! I want one! But I don't want to wait 2 years :X

I've always wanted to make my own quilt but I wanted to do royal blues and purples in satins and velvet squares and do intermittent swatches with fantasy pictures on them. I was going to use that stuff at the craft store that transfers pictures to fabric. I forgot all about that idea...I think I need to ask for a sewing machine for my birthday in May. You've got me all inspired for a huge undertaking Shandy, lol. Except mine will probably take 5 years...if I finish :X

SO YOU DESIGNED THIS QUILT ALL BY YOURSELF?

Holy shit. You're talented! I am sooo impressed! WOW!

Shandy, that quilt is AMAZING. It is beautiful!!! Down to 131??!?!? Congrats. Thats where I hope to be soon!!

I'm impressed as well; from the design to the follow through. It wouldn't take me that long to make one at all, but that's because I have zero patience so it would be done in three days but look like a kindergardeners project!

What I'm trying to say is - Great job!!! ;)

Hey Shandy, just poppin by to say hi. I came into the chatroom earlier but just missed you I think...hard to tell but it said you'd just left. Anyway you must be busy but how's stuff goin?

yeah I've been crazy busy trying to get my quilt finished, the house clean, the flat tire switched out on the jeep, and then the normal day-to-day stuff. BUT!!!! less than a week to go!!!

Sorry I haven't stopped by anyone's journals in a while. once Matt gets back on flight after his R&R I'll have more time:driving:
