Shandy's weight loss diary: Take 3--Action!

:waving: Howdy Shandy! :) The quilt looks very cool! Hope your excercise and eating has been good lately... I assume you posted it in the team 2 thread... I'm BAD about visiting it!! Anyways... have a great day! :)

My mom has a store in cali and she sends us dragon and fantasy stuff for bdays and christmas so we're lucky. And my father in law gave us a dragon that hangs on the wall in pieces but looks like it's coming in and out of it. I'll have to take a pic when I have time. Cool that we have it in common both liking dragons :)

umm SHANDY! HI! DID YOU DIE? Haha, I know you're busy with the quilt but make an appearance sometime please. :)

Hope your weekend is great! I knwo you're on top of your food adn water. ;)

yeah, so I'm terrible at checking in on here and actually saying anything. I come on here and read everyone's journals, check up on the Team 2 chat thread, then poof I'm off again. But, good news is I'm over halfway done sewing down the dragons. Saturday i'm going to base for my final shopping trip before Matt comes home, and with any luck I'll be able to swing by the craft store and pick up the extra batting that I need. I'm about 2 feet short right now. which sucks.
But anyways, I've been keeping crazy busy between the quilt and all the cleaning/organizing I've been doing. I basically have let me OCD have free reign on the house. my garage is spotless, the spare bedroom looks the best it has since we moved in, all of our TV seasons are finally back in their actual cases, about 80% of our movies(we've got well over 1500 movies so it takes a while) are organized according to genre...and before you ask, no I don't alphabetize them, I list them according to how often we watch them instead. Yes I'm crazy, leave me alone, it works for me. :biggrinjester:
So, now we're just working on figuring out how Matt's going to get home from base when he gets in. So far he's going to be landing in the middle of the night so I can't pack up the kids and meet him at base. So, since he's not allowed to drive for the first 3 days he's in country, we have to figure out who's going to pick him up. originally we had planned on asking Betsy, but she's flaked on me so much since October it's fucking rediculous. So for now it's looking like I'll be calling Sarah. keep your fingers crossed that she's either available, or that Matt's flight time gets changed. I REALLY want to be there when he gets off the plane.

But in actual fitness related news, because I've been so busy, my late night snacking has pretty much stopped, and I've been cleaning like a loon and moving furniture(there's my weight training JZ. you try moving our 9 foot couch. :ack2: :D). I actually lost weight this week. weighed in on Monday moring at 131.8. I haven't been this weight since highschool. can't beat that with a stick. :D

So, there's the not-so-quick update on my life. I promise once I get a litte more time I'll actually POST in ya'lls journals instead of just reading them.
Oh, and Lisa, once I can figure out a way to take a good pic of it without the flash screwing it up, I'm going to post a pic of just one of our display cases with all our dragons. :D This could get interesting. the battle of the dragons, tune in next week at Shandy's diary for the continuance of the saga... :D

okay, I'm really going now. :D
CIAO!!!

FUCK NO YOU CAN'T!!!!!!!! :hurray:

Congratulations my dear! Good luck on everything :)

Glad everything is good and you're just busy. Well and not only good but dang, nice job on the weightloss too! That had to feel good to get down to a weight you haven't seen in a long time. You be careful moving that furniture around though by yourself girlie!

And can't wait to see the pics of your dragon cases :D

I think I'll try taking some pics of them tonight. play around with it till I get something halfway decent. then there's the tv stand. oh and matt's swords, and our stuffed animals....and.....and....and.....see a pattern? we've got a TON. from all over the world. some from England, a couple from Saudi, some from Germany, Italy, Qatar, and of course back in the states. :D we're a little nuts when it comes to our dragons. And with out fail every year for his birthday and xmas Matt gets at least 3 new ones from family members. :biggrinjester:

So, ya'll ready to see our insane collection? this is just about 1/2 of what we actually own.....you have been warned.... I'll add a description of where they're all from in the following post.
Ready Lisa? :biggrinjester:

Here's part 1!
first pic-the white dragon is from Germany. we picked that up on the day Matt proposed. no clue where the other dragon is from, Matt had that before we met.
pic #2- the blue dragon is from England. picked that up the day we got married in Bury St. Edmunds. The fairy is actually holding a little baby dragon in her hands if you look close enough. Matt's mom bought that for me.
pic 3- inscence burner from my mom. came with Dragons Blood incense cones. I love it when it's burning. the smoke comes out of each mouth and a few of the ears. it's fantastic to watch.
pic 4-birthday present from Matt's mom for his 25th. can't go wrong with the dragon/knife combo. :D
pic 5-is the knife I bought as a welcome home present for Matt when he came back from saudi.

and that's the max 5 attachments per post. I'll do the next set in a bit. I love being able to show off our rediculous collection. :D:svengo:

round two!

pic 1-is a soft wood dragon from Turkey. the missing claws and spikes got chewed off by our former demon kitty Sylvester. I hated that damn cat. only feline I've ever hated. :cuss: anyways....
pic 2-that one Matt picked up in Saudi during his first deployment. you really don't want to know how much he spent on that damn thing. :banghead: good thing it's pretty or I'd have to kick him
pic 3-This one is a puzzle box(shift it sideways, pull out a section, turn it, push it, find the key...yadda yadda) that a buddy of ours picked up while he was deployed to Iraq. one of the best presents we've ever gotten.
pic 4-I got that sword for Matt on our first anniversary. (not shown is what he got me that year-a 3 inch pewter dragon holding a gold heart in it's claws. awww ;) It's in the display case, I'll post that in the next post, promise)
pic 5-that's most of our stuffed dragons, Matt's RAF baret from England, and his wild hairy hagis(I think it's a tribble, he says otherwise).

and finally, round 3...

pic 1-Matt's Katanas. in horribly bad need of cleaning. I've slacked off on that....:blush5:
pic 2-gotta have the LEGO dragon. :D :D
pic 3-That's Fred. he's our first Italian dragon. we got him at a bazaar on base when we first got here. no clue why Matt decided to call him Fred though....?
pic 4-and THAT is our main display case. The bottom shelf isn't visible in that pic, and you're missing out on half of the shelf above that one. but you get the idea. we're nuts. that's 5 years worth of collecting though. not counting the dragons I didn't take pictures of....
pic 5-Now this pic isn't of any kind of fantasy creature. it's the first documented love story. That's King Tut and his future bride exchanging Lotus flowers. (forgive me if I'm not entirely accurate I don't have the story sitting next to me) Apparently back then you couldn't come out and actually say those 3 lovely words to the person you intended to marry(ILY for those of you that don't get my subtle hint :D). So instead, you handed the person a lotus flower. if they accepted it and gave you one in return that meant they felt the same. So, TADA! mushy romance at it's beginning! That actual painting came from my buddy Joe. He spent X-mas in Egypt in 2005, came back to england with like 10 scrolls and told me to pick one for my present that year. after I chose it he told me the story, gave me all the paperwork that came with this particular painting, and let me in on the fact that this is hand painted on actual papyrus, the ink they used was made the same way they did back when this was originally drawn....it truely is a work of art. Truth be told, this is my absolute pride and joy of our entire collection. Matt thinks I just read too many trashy romance novels so I'm a bit of a sap. :D isn't it great to have such a mushy guy around to balance me out? :smilielol5:

So, whaddya think of that Lisa? ;)

Promise I'm done showing off....for now at least. I'm sure I'll have a ton more once Matt gets back. he's bound to have bought more out there.

and FYI, the anniversary dragon from Matt I was talking about in post 2 is on the 4th shelf down, smack dab in the middle. cute huh? :D

WOWzers! I LOVE your collection...especially that sword in round one, last pic. That's gorgeous! And I love your king Tut :D I've always loved reading about ancient civilizations of Egypt, Aztecs, etc. King Tut is one of my favs :) We're just starting our collection because we never had the space before but like you our families have caught on and keep getting us stuff on holidays now. My mom especially because she has a store. I'll have to link to pictures of it later. I'll try to get some pics in the next few days. My hubby loves gargoyles too so he has alot of those mixed in but I'll have to take a pic of the fairy set my mom has been sending me, they're awesome. Anyway when you have time can you take a photo of...I think it's a red dragon in the big showcase? It looks cool :)

And don't promise to be done showing off :p I LOVE looking at that stuff :D

WOW! I just about came after taking a look at your hubby's katanas.

I have a katana fetish. I absolutely LOVE those swords. They are the ultimate in weaponry ;)

I also have a dragon fetish. I could stare at your dragons all day!! Really nice collection there :)

Thanks for popping in. I should take a pic of the double bladed dragon katana Matt got as a going away gift from one of his troops when we left England. Don't want you having trouble sitting from all the excitement though. ;) maybe tomorrow. :D

Yeah, it's always best to go slow with people like me ;) I have the potential to get overstimulated very easily :D

I'm assuming your hubby is a pilot in the forces? You must get to travel all over the world.
